MATERIALS:
• Gütermann x Birch Blooms Fabric 110cm width (640961) - Outer bag 45cm

FANFARE BLUE
PATTERNMAKING:
Create pattern pieces as per illustrations.
• 1.2m Interfacing (STC018)
• Co-ordinating Gütermann thread
• Sewing Machine
• 3.2m x 30mm Webbing for straps (296130-76NAVY)
Note: Seam allowance is 1.5cm
CUTTING OUT:
Bag Body:
• Cut 2 pieces in outer bag fabric (640961-BLOSSOM BLUE)
• Cut 2 pieces in lining fabric (640961-FANFARE BLUE)
• Cut 2 pieces in interfacing (STC018)
Outer Pocket:
• Cut 2 pieces in bag pocket fabric (640961-BLOSSOM NAVY)
• Cut 2 pieces in lining fabric (640961-FANFARE BLUE)
• Cut 2 pieces in interfacing (STC018)
SEWING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Press interfacing for bag body and bag outer pockets to fabric.
2. With right sides together, stitch the top edge of Outer Pocket pieces to Outer pocket lining.
3. Turn, press and topstitch.
4. Place Outer Pockets onto the right side of Bag Body pieces and baste in position.
5. Cut two lengths of cotton webbing 1.6m.
6. Position the ends of each length at base of bag inwards 6.5cm ensuring not to twist the strap and topstitch in place, reinforce at top as shown. Repeat for other side of bag.
7. With right sides together, stitch bag bodies together along sides seams and base of bag. 6.5cm 6.5cm
Form corners and stitch dart seams by folding corners and matching seams then stitch. Turn to right side and press.
9. With rights sides together, stitch side seams and base of Bag Body lining pieces.
Form corners and stitch dart seams by folding corners and matching seams then stitch. Turn to right side and press.
11. On both the Bag and Bag lining press a 1.5cm turn under at top edge. With wrong sides together, matching side seams, position bag lining inside the outer bag. Topstitch lining to bag body at top edge.
