NEEDLES AND EXTRAS
A 6mm circular needle, or size that gives correct tension. A yarn needle.
TENSION
12 sts and 16 rows to 10 cm over stocking st, using 6mm needles.
COWL
Using 6mm circular needle, cast on 114 sts loosely. Join into a ring, noting not to twist sts.
1st round -
* K1, P1, rep from * to end. Rep 1st round until work measures 28 cm from beg.
Divide For Split -
1st row (RS) - Rib 57, turn. Cont working rib on these 57 sts as follows -
2nd row - P1, * K1, P1, rep from * to end.
3rd row - K1, * P1, K1, rep from * to end.
Rep last 2 rows until work measures 45 cm from beg, ending with a 3rd row. Cast off loosely. With RS facing, join yarn to rem 57 sts and rib to end.
2nd row -
K1, * P1, K1, rep from * to end.
3rd row -
P1, * K1, P1, rep from * to end.
Rep last 2 rows until work measures 45 cm from beg, ending with a 3rd row. Cast off loosely.
