YARN

Classique Acrylic 8 Ply 100g 2 x balls will make both

HOOKS AND EXTRAS

One each 3.50mm and 4mm Crochet Hooks, or sizes that give correct tension. A yarn needle.

TENSION

16 sts and 13 rows to 10 cm over patt, using 4mm hook.

SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS

FPtr - yoh, insert hook from front to back between sts, then from back to front around the next st, yoh and draw the yarn around the post of the st, (yoh, draw yarn through 2 loops) twice.

BPtr - yoh, insert hook from back to front between sts, then from front to back around the next st, yoh and draw the yarn around the post of the st, (yoh, draw yarn through 2 loops) twice.

Pop - Work 5tr into next st, drop the last loop from your hook, insert hook into the top of first tr made, insert hook back through last loop and draw through.

PATTERN

1st row – (1dc, 1ch) in first st, 1tr in each st to end, turn. 2nd row – 1ch, 1dc in each st to end, turn.

3rd row – (1dc, 1ch) in first st, 1tr in each of next 2 sts, * Pop, 1tr in each of next 7 sts, rep from * to last 4 sts, Pop, 1tr in each of last 3 sts, turn.

4th row – As 2nd row.

5th row – As 1st row.

6th row – As 2nd row.

7th row – (1dc, 1ch) in first st, 1tr in each of next 6 sts, * Pop, 1tr in each of next 7 sts, rep from * to end, turn. 8th row – As 2nd row. Rows 1 to 8 incl form patt.

BLOOMERS

FRONT

Using 4mm hook, make 16 (18-20) ch.

1st row – Miss first st, 1dc in each st to end, turn = 15 (17-19) sts. 2nd row – (1dc, 1ch, 1tr) in first st, 1tr in each st to last st, 2tr in last st, turn = 17 (19-21) sts.

3rd row – 1ch, 1dc in each st to end, turn. 4th row – (1dc, 1ch, 1tr) in first st, 1tr in each of next 7 (8-9) sts, Pop, 1tr in each of next 7 (8-9) sts, 2tr in last st, turn = 19 (21-23) sts.

5th row – As 3rd row.

6th row – As 2nd row = 21 (23-25) sts.

Using a separate piece of yarn, join to first st of last row and make 13 (16-19) ch. Fasten off.

7th row (WS) – Make 14 (17-20) ch, miss first st, 1dc in each st

and ch to end, turn = 47 (55-63) sts. ** Keeping patt correct, cont in patt until work measures 17 (18-19) cm from beg, working last row on RS.

Beg Waistband – Using 3.50mm hook, 1st row – 1ch, * 1dc in each of next 2 sts, dec over next 2 sts, rep from * to last 3 sts, 1dc in each of last 3 sts, turn = 36 (42-48) sts.

2nd row – (1dc, 1ch) in first st, 1tr in each st to end, dec one st in centre, turn = 35 (41-47) sts.

3rd row – (1dc, 1ch) in first st, * BPtr around next st, 1tr in next st, rep from * to end, turn.

4th row – (1dc, 1ch) in first st, * FPtr around next st, 1tr in next st, rep from * to end, turn. Fasten off.

BACK

Using 4mm hook, make 16 (18-20) ch.

1st row - Miss first st, ldc in each st to end, turn = 15 (17-19) sts.

2nd row - (ldc, lch, ltr) in first st, ltr in each st to last st, 2tr in last st, turn = 17 (19-21) sts

3rd row - lch, 2dc in first st, ldc in each st to last st, 2dc in last st, turn = 19 (21-23) sts.

4th row - (ldc, lch, ltr) in first st, ltr in each of next O (1-2) st/s, * Pop, ltr in each of next 7 sts, rep from * once, Pop, ltr in each of next O (1-2) st/s, 2tr in last st, turn = 21 (23-25) sts.

5th row - As 3rd row = 23 (25-27) sts

6th row - As 2nd row = 25 (27-29) sts.

Using a separate piece of yarn, join to first st of last row and make 11 (14-17) ch. Fasten off.

7th row (WS) - Make 12 (15-18) ch, miss first st, ldc in each st and ch to end = 47 (55-63) sts, turn. Work as for Front from **.

LEGBANDS (worked in rounds)

Using a flat seam, join side and crotch seams. With RS facing and using 4mm hook, work 36 (38-40) de evenly around leg opening, sl st in first de at beg.

1st round - 3ch (counts as ltr), ltr in each st to end, sl st in top of 3ch at beg.

2nd round - 3ch (counts as ltr), * FPtr around next st, ltr in next st, rep from * to last st, FPtr around next st, sl st in top of 3ch at beg. Fasten off.

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Make a twisted cord long enough for waist measurement and thread through rows at waist as pictured. Tie in a bow to fasten. Darn in ends.

PIXIE BONNET

Using a 3.50mm hook, make 65 (72-79) ch loosely.

1st row – Miss 3ch, 1tr in each ch to end, turn = 63 (71-79) sts. 2nd row – (1dc, 1ch) in first st, * FPtr around next st, 1tr in next st, rep from * to end, turn.

3rd row – (1dc, 1ch) in first st, * BPtr around next st, 1tr in next st, rep from * to end, turn.

4th row – As 2nd row. Change to 4mm hook and beg patt

Work in patt beg with 2nd row, until work measures 17 (18-19) cm from beg, working last row on WS. Fasten off.

FINISHING

DO NOT PRESS. Fold bonnet in half and using a flat seam, join back seam. Darn in ends.

Using 3.50mm hook, make 40 (45-50) ch, with RS facing work 1 row dc evenly along neck edge of Bonnet, make 41 (46-51) ch. 1st row – Miss first st, 1dc in each st to end. Fasten off.
