Width (approx) 128 cm Length (approx) 160 cm

DO NOT PRESS. Sew in all ends neatly towards centre of work, rather than along side edges. Using a flat seam, sew Left Bias piece to a Right Bias piece along the longest edge and matching markers, then alternate pieces to create a chevron pattern.

YARN Twist 200g x 5 balls.

NEEDLES AND EXTRAS

1 pair 4.50mm knitting needles, or size that gives correct tension.

A yarn needle.

TENSION 18 sts and 26 rows to 10 cm over stocking st, using 4.50mm needles.

PATTERN 1st row (RS) – Knit.

2nd row (ridge) – Knit.

3rd row (RS) – Knit.

4th row – Purl.

Rows 1 to 4 inclusive form pattern throughout.

LEFT BIAS STRIP (make 3) Increase Section - Using 4.50mm needles, cast on 2 sts.

1st row (RS) – Increase in first st, K1 = 3 sts.

2nd row – K1, increase in next st, K1 = 4 sts.

3rd row – K1, increase in next st, K2 = 5 sts.

4th row – P1, increase in next st, P3 = 6 sts.

5th row – K1, increase in next st, knit to end = 7 sts.

6th row – K1, increase in next st, knit to end.

7th row – K1, increase in next st, knit to end.

8th row – P1, increase in next st, purl to end.

Keeping patt correct and cont increasing (as before) until bottom edge measures 20 cm from corner (approx 54 sts) and working last row on WS. Place a marker at beg of last row.

Centre Section – Keeping patt correct, cont as follows – 1st row – Patt 1, increase in next st, patt to end.

2nd row – Patt 1, patt 2tog, patt to end.

Rep last 2 rows until side edge measures 150 cm from corner, working last row on WS. Decrease Section – Keeping patt correct, 1st row – Patt 1, patt 2tog, patt to end.

Rep last row until 6 sts rem (WS row).

Next row – Patt 1, patt 2 tog, patt 3.

Next row – Patt 1, patt 2tog, patt 2.

Next row – Patt 1, patt 2 tog, patt 1.

Next row – K2tog, K1.

Cast off.

RIGHT BIAS STRIP (make 3) Increase Section - Work as for Left Bias Strip, placing marker at end of last row instead of beg.

Centre Section – Keeping patt correct, cont as follows – 1st row – Patt 1, patt 2 tog, patt to end.

2nd row – Patt 1, increase in next st, patt to end.

Rep last 2 rows until side edge measures 150 cm from corner, working last row on WS. Decrease Section – Work as for Left Bias Strip.
