Crown Central Deck And Arena Tampere, Finland Image Right_ Street perspective of Arena & Towers 1&2. (Image created using Rhino & 3ds Max + post process in Photoshop)

Project Narrative - The Crown Central Deck and Arena is an ambitious urban renewal project located at a key intersection in Tampere, Finland. It reconnects the city’s eastern and western districts by bridging over an existing railway, transforming the site into a vibrant hub for high-quality living, working, leisure, and culture. The mixed-use development includes a multi-purpose ice hockey arena, a hotel, and five adjacent towers atop a shared podium, featuring residences, retail, and office spaces. The arena, which comprises one-fifth of the overall complex, will accommodate up to 11,000 visitors and includes a practice rink, wellness center, shopping arcade, bars, and restaurants—redefining the deck as a center for diverse urban activity.

and includes a practice rink, wellness center, shopping arcade, bars, and restaurants—redefining the deck as a center for diverse urban activity. The total program consists of approximately 63,000 square meters of mixed-use space and 48,000 square meters dedicated to the arena. As the project is still underway, my role has focused on developing Buildings 3 and 4 in 3D and preparing them for construction documentation. Using Buildings 1 and 2 as references, I modeled the new structures in both Revit and Rhino. Additionally, I was responsible for managing the design and coordination of the arena deck and louver systems across all buildings, including implementing key redesigns.

For buildings 3&4, my responsibility was to constructing building 4 from scratch utilizing the detailed rhino source model. Next we would collaborate with the architects on record to see if there were and new deigns and or developments. Building 3 was next to be constructed but was put on hold. USEUM LISBON

AERIAL VIEW L

The Jews Invented Hope” — Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, former Chief Rabbi of the U.K. Project Narrative - The design of this cultural museum is inspired by the deep historical and cultural heritage of Jewish life, drawing from precedents such as the micrographic carpet page of the Lisbon Bible (1482), the early Jewish settlements in Portugal, and the urban scale of present-day Lisbon. The building’s core morphology references the Hebrew script spelling “Israel,” with five distinct volumes that act as bridges connecting the overall form. Skylights are strategically placed to bring natural light into elevated areas, emphasizing key programmatic elements and enhancing the spiritual and experiential quality of the space.

The museum is designed with flexibility at its core, enabling a hybrid use of its spaces. Shared zones allow for seamless transitions between programs—for instance, the lobby and temporary exhibition space can merge for catered events, while the lobby and lecture hall may host small concerts or film screenings. For larger events, all three spaces—lobby, temporary exhibition, and lecture hall—can be combined to accommodate a broader audience. This adaptability fosters a dynamic cultural environment rooted in heritage, light, and community.

Exhibition at Tretyakov Gallery Moscow, Russia Image Right_ Interior perspective of built intertwining walls. (Image created by photo)

Project Narrative - Romanticism emerged during a period of intense upheaval in European history, shaped by the spread of revolutionary ideals—particularly those of freedom—following the French Revolution. In response, artists retreated into deeply personal, subjective worlds, blending dreams of individual liberty with visions of social utopia. Grounded in the classical layers of European heritage, Romantic artists developed highly distinctive styles, recognizable in their use of composition and in their reinterpretations of ancient and biblical narratives. Central to this movement are the themes of inwardness (“Innerlichkeit”), emotional expression (“Gefühlswelten”), and the bourgeoisie’s evolving struggle for freedom.

The exhibition “Romanticism – Dreams of Freedom”, a collaboration between the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow and the Albertinum of the Dresden State Art Collections, represents a groundbreaking cultural exchange between Russia and Germany. For the first time, romantic masterpieces from both nations are presented side by side, illuminating shared cultural and social undercurrents within a broader pan-European context. Both institutions boast extensive collections of early 19th-century art, and this exhibition highlights the artistic parallels and unique contributions of each country, emphasizing their mutual focus on the social and emotional dimensions of the era.

In the process of schematic design, I took the role on making a physical sketch model of the proposed intertwined walls. In creating the walls we were able to understand the primary, secondary and tertiary spaces for the exhibit. The walls create sharp corners and blunt encasements. The passages creates central circulation to access all the spaces out of order. The model being 1:100 at 2’x4’ the placements of the romantic paintings and artifacts were easy to maneuver with the strategic model size. Image Right_ physical model perspective view. mmersive landscape

PROJECT NARRATIVE-This project is a community park—hidden in plain sight—that seamlessly integrates vital infrastructure with public experience. Beneath its rewilded landscape lies a high-functioning garage with 1,650 parking spaces and 80,000 square feet of operational program, including storage, management offices, and support facilities. The design embraces the site’s natural topography, using a 47-foot ascent to transform a utilitarian structure into a vibrant civic asset. Key program spaces include an event deck, viewing platform, market grove, trail connections, a shaded plaza, and a circulation core that encourages walking over elevator use. Together, these elements form a continuous experience where infrastructure quietly supports wellness, mobility, and cultural life.

Inspired by the prairie and designed for longevity, the park invites exploration through unprescribed paths, art-filled overlooks, and architectural follies that spark curiosity. Elevated galleries and sculpture gardens create platforms for youth and local artists to showcase work from a new perspective. Rather than compete with adjacent Fair Park programming, the space supports it—offering flexible venues and event infrastructure that leverage the site’s unique height and views. Every decision— materiality, circulation, planting, and form—is rooted in authenticity and purpose, turning a garage into a landscape that feels both natural and necessary.

e neighborhoods and the five-story concrete parking his garage an extension of garage, creating a unique the park.

Concept was to take the surrounding context and combine that with the parking structure making them into one. Image Top_Diagram of concept of parking structure. Image Right - Site Plan showing space programing. (Image created using Rhino + post process in Photoshop & Illustrator)

SHERMAN CITY HALL Image Right_ Street perspective of Sherman City Hall Design (Image created using Rhino + Post Process in Photoshop)

PROJECT NARRATIVE- The City of Sherman, Texas, is entering a new era of growth—building on its long-standing history of resilience, independence, and community pride. This new municipal complex captures that spirit, blending historical references with forward-thinking design. Inspired by the city’s agricultural past, the Council Chambers feature a grain silo-inspired massing that serves as both a civic icon and a functional anchor. The architecture references Sherman’s vernacular through colonnaded porticos, ornamental brickwork, and durable materials like timber and copper, designed to weather gracefully over time. The building is split into public and private zones that work in tandem— balancing civic transparency with operational efficiency.

The interior program includes 10,001 USF of personnel space, 13,095 USF of shared support, and 5,130 USF of specialty support, totaling 52,076 GSF with a 33% gross-up factor. Public-facing areas include a central lobby, council chambers, and outdoor plazas that connect seamlessly to an event space across the street, inviting community use and interaction. Private office suites and support spaces ensure the building performs at a high level for city staff. The use of timber structure and copper cladding reflects Sherman’s values of authenticity, health, and flexibility—making this not just a government facility, but a place rooted in the culture and future of the city.

CIRCLE SOUTH Image Right_ Street Perspective Circle South Massing Concept (Image created using Revit + Post Process in Photoshop)

PROJECT NARRATIVE- Circle South is a reimagined development in downtown Nashville, TN, originally conceived as a high-end office hub targeting tech retailers and companies relocating from other parts of the city. With a bold, sleek design of three acute glass-clad volumes, the initial concept emphasized innovation, luxury materiality, and highly efficient use of square footage to meet investor demands. However, before gaining final city approval, an executive decision shifted the project’s direction—transforming it from a pure office development into a mixed-use building incorporating both office and residential components, along with above- and below-ground parking.

This programmatic change initiated a comprehensive re-massing of the structure. The redesign introduced residential units, amenity spaces, balconies, and a rooftop pool, enabling a broader and more inclusive use of the site. The building’s height was strategically adjusted: the main tower increased by 20 feet to accommodate larger one- and two-bedroom units, while the mid-rise and podium rooflines were reduced by 45 and 20 feet respectively, and the overall height lowered by 13 feet. These refinements balanced design innovation with cost efficiency and added value. The reconfiguration marks Circle South’s evolution into a dynamic, mixed-use development—repurposed to better serve the growing needs of Nashville’s urban core.

Part Two- Academic Work

Vertical Village Mixed Use + Shared Amenities Image Right_ Street perspective. (Image created using Rhino & Revit. Post process in Photoshop)

Projec Narrative - “Vertical Village” was initially conceived for a demographic identified as “Gardeners,” but the project quickly evolved with the realization that gardening is a universal activity. The focus shifted toward designing for diverse family structures—single parents, extended families, and foster families—who, despite differing needs, share common values. This insight informed the building’s layout, where lower levels host commercial spaces like farmers markets, daycare centers, and foster care agencies, while residential units occupy the upper floors. Residents are empowered to grow their own produce on-site and sell it below, reinforcing a self-sustaining, community-oriented model.

The twelve-story building adopts a podium-style form, with public-facing programs at the base and private living spaces above. This design encourages intergenerational support and shared responsibilities, particularly in upper-level communal spaces where residents from different family backgrounds can connect and share resources. By blending residential and commercial uses with programs like daycare and foster care, the Vertical Village fosters a holistic urban ecosystem. The result is a resilient, socially integrated community that mirrors the dynamics of a traditional village—vertically stacked within a single structure.

Snap Shade Snap Perforation “Snap” motion Image Right_ Render of facade snap system. (Image created using Rhino & V-ray + post process in Photoshop)

Project Narrative - Snapping Facade proposes an alternative approach to dynamic facade systems by utilizing “snapping-induced motion” to open and close apertures, offering passive shading for the building. Inspired by the tactile sensation of snapping one’s fingers, the system is engineered to respond with a sudden, controlled deformation once a threshold of force is met. The prototype uses strategically weakened elastic bands to stay within the material’s elastic limit, allowing for snap-like transformations with minimal energy input. Once activated, the mechanism snaps open and remains in position—eliminating the need for complex motors or external power sources.

Traditionally, instability in building materials is avoided, but the Snapping Facade harnesses elastic instability as a feature rather than a flaw. This approach reimagines kinetic architecture by embedding responsive behavior directly into the material logic of the system. The facade allows for playful and intuitive user interaction, encouraging occupants to engage with the building envelope while passively reducing solar gain and energy use. It opens a new dialogue in facade design—where movement, responsiveness, and sustainability converge in a low-tech, high-impact solution.

Creating a 3D model was as important as making a physical model. To figure out the complex joinery and mesh material was firstly explored in the modeling phase. This helped trouble and helped figure out what materials would work in the physical model. Image Above_ Snap Shade aggregated unit. Image credit_ Jin Yong Song. “Sequence Motion”

Snap Shade is a kinetic facade system designed to provide adaptive shading through a simple and intuitive twisting motion. As a research and student assistant, my role focused on the physical construction of the prototype, contributing to the assembly process and fabrication of modular components. Working alongside the lead professor and other assistants, I supported the development of the system by using tools such as 3D printers and laser cutters to mass-produce the lightweight, paper-like elements essential to the design. The final prototype features six interconnected units operated through a central joinery system, allowing the entire assembly to respond with a smooth, unified motion. With a simple twist, the system can adjust to block or admit sunlight, offering a tactile and user-friendly approach to passive climate control. The Snap Shade project showcases how minimal mechanical effort can lead to dynamic architectural responses, merging efficiency, interactivity, and environmental awareness into one cohesive facade solution.

Snap Perforation is a continuation of the Snapping Facade concept, further exploring how flexible, interstitial materials—such as fabric or paper-like composites—can serve not only as kinetic components but also as integrated shading devices. This secondary layer interacts with the structural snapping mechanism by bending and flexing, while also contributing a perforated pattern that modulates light and shadow. The design of these perforations was inspired by biological organisms and natural growth patterns. Collaborating with a local artist known for mimicking wildlife through perforated media, we developed a prototype featuring a unique pattern applied to a single modular unit. This exercise revealed the vast potential for generating infinite design variations, transforming a functional shading system into a canvas for artistic expression. Snap Perforation represents a fusion of biomimicry, architecture, and art, offering dynamic, responsive environments that are both visually engaging and environmentally conscious.
