We Respectfully Remember
I was truly moved when Rabbi Pearl asked me to be a 2019 ACI Journal honoree, reconnecting me with the synagogue my grandparents helped build and support so long ago, my childhood synagogue which was a formative part of my Jewish foundation. How wonderful it is to see the Astoria Center of Israel flourishing once again. Thank you Rabbi, members of the 2019 Journal Committee, and members of the Astoria Center of Israel, for bestowing this honor upon me, and for so warmly and graciously welcoming me back home to ACI. In honor of this occasion, I am pleased to pay tribute to my grandparents with a gift to ACI named the “Abraham and Jennie Asofsky Membership Scholarship.� I know they would have been so happy to see the resurgence of Jewish involvement in the life of our synagogue.
