Season’s Greetings is a celebration of the season with memories of past holidays and hopes for the future through the eyes of our children. The Billings Gazette would like to thank all of the children who participated by submitting stories, poems, recipes, wishes and drawings. We would also like to thank their teachers. Without them, this would not have been possible.

BEARTOOTH ELEMENTARY 4th grade, Mrs. Bailey Dear Billings Gazette, What my family does every year for Christmas is cut down a Christmas tree. We also make our own ornaments. The steps to making your own ornaments: Step 1 – you go buy the glass or plastic part. Step 2 – you get paint and gently pour it into the ornaments, or get fabrics and fun craft things and decorate it. Step 3 – let it dry. Step 4 – put them on your Christmas tree!

Season’s Greetings What the holidays mean to me Christmas means so much to me. Just seeing my Grandparents makes me so happy. They are very funny when we eat dinner. Mashed Potatoes and Turkey Go to Costco and buy it in this bag. Then we cook it but we take the bag off. We cook it at my house for 20 minutes.

Get the turkey at Costco and it’s in a bucket. Then we take it home. We take the box off and we cook it. We add sauce and put it in the stove. We cook it for probably about an hour.

We hear the dinging sound and it’s done.

Chicken We have to go down to our barn and get some of our chickens. Then we go and get all the feathers off. Then we cook them on the stove. Cook them for like 5 minutes or something. Then we add a little bit of salt and pepper. We do put a little bit of stuffing in it.

In the morning we wait for our parents to call us down. “Yeah!” I shout, “it is Christmas morning!” My cousins and sister all wait with me.

We have little goodie bags with fun activities and snacks. I wake all the other girls to wait with me.

Time to open presents! Everyone in my entire family now opens presents! First we open up our stockings, and then we open presents!

Spending Christmas with my family is amazing! My cabin is a wonderful place to celebrate, especially when everyone is there! It makes me feel warm inside to be able to celebrate Christmas with my family.

We do so many fun activities during Christmas time. Christmas is my family’s favorite holiday. To me it is the most wonderful time of the year.

Eli Madland Christmas with My Family Going to my grandma’s house always makes me happy. Sometimes when we go there it kind of gives me the chills. When I go to my grandma’s house I never fall asleep.

When we arrive I see my family. I get to see my cousins. Then I get to see my grandma and she hugs me and kisses me on the cheek. Then I get to see my great grandpa and my regular grandpa and they give me nice big hugs.

When we first get there we go play outside. While we are playing outside we go sledding for a while and then when we are done sledding, my cousins and I play in the snow and have a snow ball fight. I am always glad to see my cousins.

After I am done sledding, I help cook. My mom and I make a great team. I help my dad cook the turkey and it usually tastes good. My grandma cooks meat loaf and I help too. My grandpa helps get the table ready for dinner.

When dinner is ready we finally sit down to eat. At the table we talk about funny things that have happened. When we are done talking about funny things we pray to God. After that we enjoy the food.

After we are done eating we open presents. While we are opening presents we are filled with joy. Soon after we are done opening presents we all ask if we can play with one another’s toy while we are doing that they get dessert ready.

Wednesday, December 24, 2014 Family Traditions Christmas at my house starts off picking out a perfect tree and decorating it. We set up our stockings and then we start making cookies for Santa.

Before we go to bed, we open up our pajamas. The next morning when we wake up, my family comes and opens our presents up. A little bit later we go to my papa and nana’s house and open up the presents that they got us.

Holiday Season Every holiday season I sing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. I also play the ukulele when I am bored. I bake cookies with my mom.

Everybody stays in his or her PJs on Christmas morning. We go sledding every Christmas and have fun. We enjoy our holiday traditions.

The trip to Anaconda One early Sunday morning we were going to Anaconda and on our way there we saw a lot of Buffalo. Then we stopped and got out of the car and started taking pictures. Then we started to drive again then we finally got to Anaconda so then when we got there we went up to our room and got our swimming suits on and went to the swimming pool that is as long as a giraffes neck. Then while we were there I said “Hey Cindy we should have a contest of how long we can stay under water.” Then she said “ITS ON” so while my mom was timing us this man came over and said “Excuse me you aren’t aloud to have electronics by the pool.” Then my mom said “Well there isn’t a sign that says that.” Then after we were done swimming me my little brother and my big sister made a movie then while making a movie Sam my big brother was outside and being weird as always. Then after we were done making the movie we were going to go to the petting zoo, but my mom said we had to go to dinner first so we went to dinner and after that we couldn’t go to the petting zoo because it was closed. Then the next Monday morning they were putting up the Christmas tree and it was loud because they had to use a drill and its so loud that it made me wake up then when we went outside the room they were just putting up the lights and when they were done they were putting up a fake Santa.

Then when they put him up my little brother Henry went down by him and I took a picture of him and now I really miss Anaconda and thats what my Christmas was like.

The Trip It was sunny on the Siesta Key of Florida. It was Christmas and I was with my family. I swam in the ocean and went fishing. It was also the first time I ate calamari cooked with breadcrumbs. Trafton Catching Santa Claus This year my cousins Lexi, Livi, and my sisters Cella and Catie and I are starting a new tradition of trying to catch Santa Claus. First, we will have a meeting and make a plan.

Next we will get supplies to catch him. Some of the supplies will be cameras, ropes, and cookies. Then we will get all of our supplies in their spots. After that we will wait until morning and check our cameras to see if we got Santa on camera. Lastly we will go downstairs to see if our ropes caught Santa.
