A Plan to Move Canton Forward
Canton, Georgia – A Vibrant, Connected and Active City During my first term as a Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem, I have worked diligently with the Mayor, Council, City Manager and City Staff to craft and implement an effective strategy and vision to move Canton Forward. Advocating Quality Over Quantity, I look forward to continued engagement and public service to position Canton as an active, connected and vibrant city. Here is a general overview of a positive action plan. Early voting begins October 16, and Election Day is November 7. I appreciate your continued support and appreciate your vote!
Canton – A Vibrant City The City of Canton is dynamic. The Etowah River flows through its center, providing recreational opportunities, parkland vistas, and resources for our water and wastewater systems. A major interstate that connects scenic mountains with Atlanta, as well as major state routes to the east and west. We are seeing resurgence in business development, master planned projects, population growth and a unique downtown renaissance. Canton’s growing and diverse population provides new ideas, volunteers, and opportunities for continual improvement. Major Vibrancy Projects: • • • • • • • • • •
Fiscal responsibility to keep reducing debt and keep taxes low Continue to beautify the City with enhanced Code Enforcement Adaptive reuse of the historic Canton Mill for mixed use, restaurants, retail, residential Master Plan and LCI initiative for Sunnyside and South Canton Recruit high-profile companies to industrial park, Riverstone and the Bluffs Preservation of our valuable historic assets and small town character New gateway signage and well maintained corridors Leverage Northside Hospital Cherokee’s new facility, campus and programs Build out the commercial portions of master planned residential projects Restoration and adaptive reuse of the Jones Building
