WELCOME…
Welcome to the fourth glorious year of the fantastic Liverpool Theatre Festival, back at the iconic St Luke’s Bombed Out Church, at a new time of year, between Thursday 20 July and Sunday 30 July 2023.
The ethos of the festival is to provide a platform for new and emerging shows, creatives, and performers, while making live theatre accessible and affordable. The festival was created during the Covid-19 pandemic, to keep live performance going in Liverpool City Centre and we are thrilled that we continue to programme and commission brilliant performance for our community. We’re particularly proud of biggest ever family programme since we started four years ago, including two specially commissioned shows which will be premiered at the festival during the school Summer holidays.

As well as new and emerging creatives, the festival highlights the very best of Liverpool City Region’s homegrown talent. This year we welcome Liverpool favorites Joe McGann and Pauline Daniels alongside an eclectic range of performers from the North-West and across the UK.
This year’s festival will be particularly poignant as this time we will be without our dear friend and writer Mark Davies Markham, who was highly respected in Liverpool and beyond. I am proud to dedicate this year’s festival in his honor.
The Liverpool Theatre Festival sends a massive thank you to our funders, festival partners, sponsors, members and supporters. We could not continue to deliver this very special festival without you.
We look forward to welcoming audiences of all ages to St Luke’s Bombed Out Church for 11 days of excellent entertainment.
