As demand for matt finishes and nature-inspired tones continues to rise, Häfele UK has expanded its range of bestselling AluSplash aluminium-based splashbacks with eight new colours and a marble finish. The Elements collection features a hand-picked selection of earth, air, fire and water inspired shades available in a luxurious, premium matt design.
Launched in December and available exclusively through Häfele in the UK, AluSplash is a practical, hassle-free alternative to glass, acrylic and tiled splashbacks. As well as being easy to fit with readily available tools and without specialist experience, the product is constructed from a flame resistant aluminium surface with a fire resistant mineral core that means AluSplash can be used behind all hobs and cooker tops, including gas, for a seamless run of colour.

The new collection features eight shades: Lava Stone; Smoked Ember; Forest Green; Green Mist; Iceberg White; Midnight Moon; Autumn Leaves and Frosted Flora, which have all been chosen in line with popular and upcoming trends. Alongside the Elements collection, Häfele UK has also introduced White Carrara, a highly popular marble effect in a satin matt finish.
AluSplash is available in three pre-cut sizes, including up to 3050mm lengths. Innovatively designed, it allows fitters to v-groove and fold around corners without joints and cut holes for sockets with ease. Häfele also offers an installation kit that can be used in conjunction with AluSplash.

With spring just around the corner, what better time to take a look at the rising popularity of kitchens that embrace outdoor living. We look at 2 very different projects that demonstrate this genre perfectly:
Brandt Design, has recently completed a beautiful Shakerstyle kitchen installation working to a brief to create a family living space within a large countryside home in the affluent village of Radlett, Hertfordshire.
Refined and practical, this timeless kitchen provides an ideal space to cook, dine and entertain for the entire family. Julia Steadman, Commercial Director at Brandt Design says, “Demand has been growing over the past two years for rooms that maximise the link between homes and gardens. ‘Bringing the outside in’ has therefore become increasingly important as we are socialising more at home and this has led to a greater appreciation of how being closer to nature can boost our health and mental wellbeing.”
Made-to-measure in-frame Heritage kitchen furniture was selected for this installation, which is finished in a mix of Pavilion Grey, Treron and Down Pipe hand-painted finishes by Farrow & Ball. Walnut interiors are included throughout, and the hero island unit is shown in a dark grey Down Pipe finish, with statement extractor unit, streamlined TV unit with integrated deep-fill drawers and pocket doors in dark green Treron. The Pavilion Grey painted kitchen is both functional and spacious, maximising the scenic views of the beautifully manicured gardens, which enhance the traditional in-frame furniture arranged in a generous l-shape for easy navigation. 20mm Quartz worktops in Frosty Carrena custom made at Brandt Design’s dedicated fabrication centre provide a strong, easyto-clean, ultra-hygienic work surface to prepare and cook food and to finish, a vintage antique mirrored splashback gives depth and added perspective.
The Brandt Design team introduced a distinct corrugated design technique upon the canopy hood and central island unit. Designed to wrap around existing elements in the room, the vertical lines and ribbed texture of this unique surface solution add new areas of interest and visual texture throughout the space, elevating the look and feel in an intriguing and individual way.
Premium appliances include a heritage-style Chalonnais range cooker by LaCanche in a Graphite finish with brass trim, plus a range of Siemens built-in refrigeration, Miele Active Plus fully integrated dishwasher, and Caple under-counter wine cabinet to further enrich the working triangle.
