On Saturday, October 12th the team hosted Aston Villa in the FA Women’s Championship at The Valley and organised a bucket collection on the day for the campaign and Taylor himself dyed his hair pink during the month of October to raise money and awareness for Cancer Research UK.
Taylor said: “I went down to watch Charlton Athletic Women a few times last season and there is a really good family feel to their match days. They did a lot last year to help raise money and awareness for a charity that is very important to me and I’m grateful that they are getting involved again this season.
“We have tried to make this year’s campaign bigger and better, so for them to dedicate their match day at The Valley to the campaign means a lot.”
General Manager for the Women’s team Steve Adamson said: “Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer either directly or in-directly so it's an important charity to raise funds for. Lyle has been a proud supporter of the women's team and we are proud to help support him raise money for such an important charity.” The amount raised is still being counted but last year, he raised £16,000 for the charity, in part thanks to support and fundraising from Charlton Athletic Women. Everyone connected with the club hopes that this figure will be surpassed this time around.
