Love Later Life with Age UK Mid Mersey

Age UK Mid Mersey exists to promote the wellbeing of all older people and to make later life an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. We aim to maximise healthy lifestyle and promote positive wellbeing and independence for all older people.

Later life can present a whole range of different decisions, options and challenges, and we have helped many older people to feel safe and secure, to mix with others through a variety of activities, and to feel supported, often through difficult times in their lives. We do all of this whilst helping celebrate older age with campaigns such as our Respect Campaign #DoYouSeeMe?, launched in collaboration with Halton Borough Council. Whether older people are fit and active and looking for social activities, or more frail and vulnerable and looking for companionship or support, Age UK Mid Mersey strives to ensure they are not forgotten and that their skills and experience are embraced, enhanced and valued within our communities.

Warrington Tea Dances

In Warrington, our popular tea dances are run by a team of dedicated volunteers who ensure everyone is made to feel welcome, included and, most importantly, has a good time. They’re a great way to meet people, make friends and keep active in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The Afternoon Tea Dance is normally held every Monday (excluding bank holidays) at the Pyramid, Warrington from 1pm – 4pm. Although they are currently suspended due to the Covid19 pandemic, we are hoping to be back up and running soon, so keep an eye on our social media pages on Twitter and Facebook to find out more.

Age UK Mid Mersey is an independent, registered charity working with and on behalf of older people in Halton, Knowsley, St Helens and Warrington. If you’re interested in finding out more about the work we do, visit www.ageuk.org.uk/midmersey.
