Challenges and Opportunities

Despite the many advantages of copper recycling, several challenges remain. One significant challenge is the lack of infrastructure for copper recycling in many parts of the world. Recycling facilities and technologies are not yet widespread, and many countries still rely heavily on primary copper production.

Another challenge is the low value of recycled copper compared to new copper. Recycling facilities often struggle to compete with primary copper producers, who can offer lower prices due to economies of scale.

However, the increasing demand for sustainable materials and the growing awareness of the environmental impact of copper production offer opportunities for the development of new recycling technologies and infrastructure.
