We find ourselves quickly approaching the holiday season in Big Canoe, which means preparations for all our annual holiday traditions are underway. Before we get to those, another tradition has dominated our collective hearts and minds this week: Big Canoe's tradition of giving back to those in need. We were spared the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene, but our mountain community neighbors were not. Big Canoe's Public Safety and Volunteer Fire Department quickly took action to create a donation drive for first responders and their families living and working in Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina. Donation drop-off continues through Sunday. Dear neighbors, your generosity has been awe-inspiring! Thank you.
And speaking of thankfulness, we appreciate all the vendors, food trucks, Reformation Brewery, and you for making 2024's October Festival incredibly special. See you again next year.
In this week's Big Canoe Living, you can learn more ways to give back and celebrate the season. You can volunteer to delight Big Canoe's children and grandchildren at trunk-or-treat, travel with us to get into the holiday spirit at the Atlanta Botanical Garden's annual Holiday Nights of Lights, save the date for Santa Brunch, and register for a Winter Ball like no other with our friends at the Tate House. The team at the Tate House tells us that the ballroom will be stunning this year! The travel series and Winter Ball will sell out, so please do not delay registering. Once we have our Winter Ball registrants, we will work with you on your desired table seating.
Thanks again,
Delaine Faris Director, Communications and Community Engagement
