Greetings Big Canoe! We have an exciting week ahead as we welcome members and their guests for the Men’s Member-Guest Golf Tournament. One of Big Canoe’s most anticipated traditions, the tournament brings together friends for several days of spirited competition, camaraderie, and memorable experiences on our courses. An event of this size would not be possible without the support of our sponsors and hard-working staff. We want to thank the Golf Amenity Staff and Golf Maintenance teams, Clubhouse and Duffers staff, Public Works, Public Safety, volunteers, and everyone working behind the scenes. Months of planning and preparation go into creating a successful Member-Guest experience, from preparing the courses and coordinating tournament play to hosting meals and special events. In this edition of Big Canoe Living, you’ll also find plenty of fall activities and upcoming events to add to your calendar. Make plans to attend another beautiful Wine Dinner at the Clubhouse, nominate an outstanding employee for the Debbie Pickett Award, or submit a question for the Board candidates. And don’t forget to sign up for Trunk or Treat! Register your trunk, gather your decorations, and help us create a fun and festive evening for Big Canoe’s children and families. Whether your theme is spooky, silly, or sweet, your creativity and participation will make this community tradition memorable. .

MARINA
Marina Christmas Shirt Pre-sale Hi all. I recognize this seems an early offering but it is necessary to have the number of shirts to be printed by November 1st. This is so the print shirt company can start production and have the finished product at the Marina for pickup starting the first week in December. This year there will be a kids' T-shirt in short sleeves only to choose from. In addition there will also be short sleeves and long sleeves for adults. They will only be offered in white, and once the order is placed, it will be locked in for print and delivery. Of course, this offering is contingent upon receiving the minimum quota to cover the cost of printing - as orders come in, we will keep you posted.
Hope you enjoy this year's pic as it is joyful and should bring smiles all around. If you are wondering why the canoe has wheels attached, it is in preparation for lowering the lake required for the spillway replacement.

ASK
E H T CANDIDATE?
We’ve asked you— the Big Canoe property owners—to submit questions for the POA Board candidates. This is the second question to be answered by the candidates. This question was submitted by a Big Canoe property owner through the “Ask the Candidates a Question” process announced in Big Canoe Living. We sent the same question to all candidates, gave them the same word guidance and deadline, and their responses appear in the pages that follow. Responses are published as submitted. We hope their responses are helpful as you learn more about each candidate’s perspective and approach to this important issue. If you have additional questions you’d like the candidates to answer, please click below to submit them. We appreciate your participation and engagement in the election process.
The views expressed are solely those of the individual candidate and do not represent the positions of the Big Canoe POA, its Board of Directors, its committees, or its staff. The POA distributes candidate content as a neutral election service and does not endorse any candidate.

TRAVEL CLUB CELEBRATES
DESTINATION AMERICA
The Big Canoe Travel Club members will celebrate the end to another year (13 Years in all) of world-wide travel adventures with an all-American picnic dinner party on October 28th in the Sconti Clubhouse Overlook Room. The event again will be co-hosted by Mike Ziegenbalg of Dream Vacations and Carson Hobart of AMA Waterways, this year’s river cruise give-a-way sponsor. The menu will be as American as apple pie, and in fact will feature apple pie as the dessert. Fried chicken, potato salad, baked beans and grandma’s famous homemade biscuits will round out the rest of the meal. The $45 fee will include one complimentary beverage to enjoy during “social time” with patriotic music beginning at 6 P.M. and dinner and drawing to follow shortly. Surprise entertainment by Mountain Motion Dance Troop. Attendance is limited to the first 120 Travel Club members who complete a reservation. Registration details will be distributed to all members by email and hopefully published in a forthcoming issue of Big Canoe Living. The dinner fee will be charged to each member’s POA account thru the POA Events Calander. Please register by October 24th. Don’t forget the drawing for the “Free” river cruise will be held shortly after dinner and you must be present to win.
