September at golf has been an exciting and busy month already, and it only gets better We moved back into our reimagined pro shop in the renovated clubhouse, hosted the Big Canoe Chapel Men's Fellowship tournament, hosted the Good Samaritan's tournament, held our Men's Super-Senior Club Championship, and held our Senior Club Championship Golf takes the world stage at the end of the month with the Ryder Cup being hosted on US soil at Bethpage in New York, where our American team will take on the Europeans. Go, Captain Keegan Bradley and Team USA!
October ushers in our premier golf events here at Big Canoe with the MemberGuest Tournaments. Our Men's Member-Guest will take place October 1st through 4th with a full field of 72 teams, 144 players that will compete for the championship Our Women's Member-Guest will take place at the end of the month, from October 29th through 31st. We hope to have a full field of 96 ladies, and there is still time to sign up. You can click the link below for more information and to register
I want to say a big Thank You to Northside Hospital as our Title Sponsor for both of our Member-Guest tournaments this year. Northside Hospital has been a wonderful supporter for many years here at Big Canoe, and we hope for many more to come.
October 17th and 18th, we will host our Women's and Men's Club Championships. There is still time to sign up for those two Championships, and you can get more information and register at the links below.
We hope everyone will stop by the golf pro shop and pick up some Big Canoe swag. If you don't see anything you like, give us a week and stop by again because we have new merchandise arriving weekly through the golf season
Finally, I would be remiss not to say a huge Thank You to a couple of groups of people. First, Jameson Marslender, our golf course Superintendent, and his team have worked hard to get the golf course in great shape after a long summer, during which we faced numerous challenges from Mother Nature, including excessive heat, humidity, and rain at the wrong times. Still, we all weathered the storm, and the course is looking fantastic.
The second group I want to thank is the golf operations team and especially our cart staff. Our team endured a course closure and was displaced from the pro shop to a trailer for 51 weeks. They had to adapt to a completely new operations plan, which involved working with carts in the parking lot and in close quarters of the trailer. Additionally, if the wind blew too hard, technology would go in and out. I can't thank them enough for their dedication and positive attitudes to make sure we provided the best possible experience for all of our golfers. To our members and property owners, Thank You for everyone ' s patience as we made the best of an ever-changing and challenging situation.
I wish you all nothing but Fairways and Greens.
