It is almost time for the Primary Election Ballots to arrive in your mailboxes. We hope that throughout August, you are making the most of the opportunities to meet and learn about the six primary candidates seeking your vote At the bottom of the home page on Big Canoe POA's website, you'll find an election banner Clicking on it will take you to the election page, where you can view the Candidate Forum video and access profiles of each candidate, including their contact information. The profiles have also been printed in this month's Smoke Signals.
Ballot packets are estimated to begin arriving in mailboxes after Friday, August 15. Mailing the ballot to property owners is a requirement in Big Canoe's bylaws Please allow time for them to reach you through the US Postal Service You will receive a ballot packet for each property you own in Big Canoe. Please return every ballot you receive in the postage-paid envelope included in the ballot packets. Your ballots must be returned to Mauldin & Jenkins by the end of the business day on September 5. The four candidates who proceed to the general Board of Directors election will be announced by the end of the day, September 11.
Just a quick reminder, you are choosing up to four of the six primary candidates listed on your ballot The four candidates with the most votes proceed to the general Board of Directors election in November From this field of four, you will choose two candidates for a three-year term on Big Canoe's Board of Directors, replacing the positions of Terry Stewart and Mark Green, who have completed their terms.
Voting for our Board Directors is a critical responsibility that ensures Big Canoe continues to thrive and our property values keep increasing. Thank you for taking the time to carefully choose next year ' s Board leadership.
Cheers,
Scott Auer
Big Canoe POA, General Manager
