CLUBHOUSE SPRINGS FORWARD WITH NEW HOURS AND BRUNCH RETURNS

Greetings from Racquet!

Unless you ’ ve been living under a rock, you know Pickleball is the latest craze I have news for you, it’s here to stay! Whether you are a seasoned pickleball player or have never picked up a paddle, the racquet club has a calendar full of activities for you to join in on the fun, AND, add years to your life! Big Canoe Resident & PPG Certified Coach John Murphy offers beginner, intermediate & advanced clinics in small group settings. Learn the basics, improve your shots, or work on strategy. New this month is our Ladies’ beginner pickleball round robin; lowpressure fun with other ladies learning the game. Mixed open play is offered five days a week for all levels of play With the addition of six new courts this April, this sport is sure to continue to grow in Big Canoe
Rain or shine, tennis is always ON in Big Canoe We are so lucky to have indoor tennis courts! Next month, new clay on the outdoor courts means we’ll be ready for a full summer season With new teaching pros joining us, we are excited to offer a more tailored approach to private lessons & clinics. Men’s and women ’ s round robins are offered several times a week for all levels of play. Round robins make it easy for you! We do all the work; book the courts, find friends for you to play with, and provide the balls- no matter the weather. Our first annual Wimbledon Whites & Wood Racquets tournament will be the highlight of the summer!
As a kid, our Italian next-door neighbor had what looked like a large sandbox in his backyard This is when I learned what Bocce was, I learned what an amazing sport it is this past Fall. Each spring & fall the Racquet Club offers a Bocce League. Teams of four play matches over several weeks culminating in the league playoffs where we crown our champions! End-of-season celebrations are a highlight, but my highlight is the amazing team names the players come up with Get your group of four together and register for spring league, play starts March 25th If you aren’t sure Bocce is for you, I encourage you to join us for Monday Night Bocce Just show up and play, no registration is required. Monday evenings at 6:00; after meeting the other members and rolling a few games, you’ll be hooked!
This is all just a small taste of what we have cooking over at the Racquet Club It’s not that wonderful Pizza the Clubhouse is serving, but I think it’s just as good! It’s the season of social at Racquet and we want you to join us.
These past months have been nothing short of exhausting & wonderful If you ’ ve been to the Racquet Pro Shop, you ’ ve probably met my fantastic five; Traci, John, Mark, Don & Maggie. Through all the hair-brained ideas and changes, these five have been my support system & cheerleaders They have helped me put plans in motion and get the job done to serve you better Stop by, say hello, and let us talk you into getting on our courts This is truly a special community; the people, the views, the amenities, and I am thrilled to be playing a small role in making our Racquet Club one of the best in Georgia.

John Murphy became a certified Coach/Instructor by the Professional Pickleball Registry in 2023 after playing Pickleball for several years in Big Canoe.
