Deadlines. Appointments. Milestones.

The days fly by faster than a hare darting through the forest.

But, outside, on the trail or at camp, the phones turn off. The endless notifications and reminders quiet.

Replaced with chirping birds. Buzzing critters. The crunch of earth beneath your feet.

Take a deep breath. Out here, you decide how your time passes.

Our continued drive to always innovate and lead the industry has us stoked in 2025. This year we’re bringing you a lineup of fresh designs and materials to almost every category to help you skip the hustle and set your own pace.

We’re excited to launch our proprietary tent fabric technology HyperBead™ to our award-winning ultralight tents. This new fabric technology reduces weight, is more waterproof, adds durability and tear strength to our ultralight tent fabrics, plus has no intentionally added PFAS.

Beyond our ultralight tents, we’ve added new ultralight backpacks, upgraded our luggage collection, brought more comfort to your backcountry sleep system, and more.

Sustainability continues to be at the forefront of Big Agnes’s innovations. The 2025 line offers more sustainably soured and manufactured and recycled material than any other season in our 24 years. We’ve woven recycled fish nets into two brand new products – the Sweetwater UL Backpacks and Fly Creek UL Zip Quilt and Sleeping Bag. In addition to this, all of our new 2025 tents have no intentionally added PFAS.

Big Agnes’s commitment to being a sustainability forward brand goes beyond our products. Our three USA facilities run on 100% renewable energy offset programs; and our renowned Repair Team is ready to fix your worn gear to keep it in use and out of the landfill as long as possible.

Life’s pace off the trail has been moving at record speeds. Reignite your adventurous spirit and find the wild places that light your fire.

Make the reservation. Pack up the camp gear. Invite some friends. And escape into the backcountry to slow it down. It’s time to Set Your Pace and hit the trail with Big Agnes.

Hope to see you out there,

The Crew at Big Agnes

Smart, effective construction secures your load without unnecessary bulk, using durable, recycled regen Ocean Robic nylon derived from discarded fishing nets.

What is it?

At Big Agnes, we’ve always prided ourselves on the strength and closeness of the relationships we have with our vendors. We’re able to innovate and develop better products and materials more efficiently because of these relationships. HyperBead™ is a key example of the kind of strides we can make by working with top vendors who are enthusiastic about innovating alongside us.

HyperBead™ was developed out of a period of extremely close collaboration with our top fabric manufacturer. We were both motivated to create a new, innovative technology that was able to not only forego the use of forever chemicals, but actually improve upon the PFAS-free alternatives currently in the market. We saw a huge opportunity to go beyond just eliminating harmful chemicals and traditional water repellents to make something new that’s stronger, lighter, and better for the consumer in every way.

HyperBead™ is a proprietary waterproof coating currently being applied to a handful of our Ultralight tent fabrics. Its highly specialized chemistry and application process make it the most technically advanced and effective water proofing treatment we’ve ever utilized.

Because it contains no PFAS chemicals, WR’s or C0 finishes, HyperBead is far more durable and more sustainable than even its C6 DWR counterparts. It won’t wash out or degrade the same way your C6 and C0 finishes will, and it won’t contribute to the buildup of forever chemicals in our bodies or the environment.

Additionally, not only is the coating itself more effective, durable and sustainable, but it actually makes the resulting fabric as a whole lighter and stronger. In many cases, additional or thicker coatings can lead to heavier, weaker fabrics, especially when they aren’t applied with fine-tuned processes and machinery. However, the makeup and processing technique used in HyperBead™ works to make the fabric stronger and more lightweight in the end.

Starting in our Spring 2025 product line, you can look forward to seeing HyperBead™ in our updated Copper Spur UL and XL lines as well as the Tiger Wall UL, Tiger Wall Platinum, and Fly Creek UL tents. Our development and design team made a handful of awesome changes to all of these styles and HyperBead™ is at the center of it all. In the future we’re hoping to expand this technology to other product families and categories – stay tuned!

Noah Wetzel
“Where’d I put my headlamp?”
Routt National Forest, Colorado.
Woods Wheatcroft Local artist Nicole Black weathering a sloppy commute to her studio. Sandpoint, Idaho.

I sat slack-jawed in an empty cabin, deep in the Yukon. I was exhausted after a day of pushing, pulling, and cursing at my bike through terrible bogs, swarming insects, and unrelenting heat. Yet I was also oddly happy. This is what I had come here for.

Three months prior, Big Agnes notified me that I’d won the Bob Swanson Memorial Grant. When I got the news, I looked at my husband and said “Oh shit.” I’d proposed a biking, pack-rafting, and hiking loop around Northern Canada, and now Big Agnes was giving me a generous cash stipend and some incredible gear to help me get it done.

I spent weeks training, planning, researching, and even making route revisions, until I was prepared for an adventure that would challenge me without killing me. Finally, it was go time.

I left Whitehorse in late June, first tackling the remote gravel Canol Road, aka the “bear superhighway.”

Although I didn’t see any grizzlies (there), I did scare off a couple of black bears and rolled past countless piles of bear scat. After 140 miles and 14,000 ft of elevation on the Canol, I reached Ross River, where I resupplied and then departed for the Dena Cho trail.

I'd been told that bikes are allowed on the Dena Cho "but not recommended" and in hindsight I'd agree - especially on a loaded gravel bike. Is it possible? Sure! It's also possible to eat soup with a fork.

The Dena Cho ends in the small village of Faro, where I learned that there were multiple wildfires along the Yukon River, exactly where I was planning to paddle. The road was closed and the river was engulfed in smoke. Completing my loop as planned was not going to happen.

I called Big Agnes and chatted with Rob, the guy in charge of sponsorships. As expected, he was understanding and encouraged me to do what I needed to stay safe.

I’m a planner, first and foremost. I excel at Excel spreadsheets. But sometimes, you gotta go with the flow. And sometimes, going with the flow means that you don’t actually get to go with the flow. With the banks of the Yukon ablaze, I scrapped my plans for boating and instead decided to bike towards southeast Alaska.

I rolled south into Skagway, where I hiked part of the Chilkoot Trail and then hopped a ferry to Haines. From there, I pedaled over Haines Pass and past Kluane National Park, stopping to hike more along the way. I saw grizzly bears, foxes, porcupines, and even Yukon mustangs.

After three weeks, I rode back into Whitehorse, completing a satisfying figure-8 of approximately 1100 miles, mostly by bike, with a few short sections on foot.
