MÚSICA Y CUBANÍA EN EL FESTIVALPIÑA COLADA «
Lo mejor de la música cubana contemporánea, en confluencia con su diversidad de géneros y exponentes, regresa como epicentro del Festival Piña Colada, a celebrarse del primero al cuatro de abril de este año, en Ciego de Ávila, su sede habitual. La creación musical en su máxima expresión, invita al reencuentro con lo más actual y relevante del panorama de esta manifestación artística a nivel nacional. Aquí, música fusión y alternativa, se dan cita y se articulan de la mano de reconocidos y talentosos artistas del país antillano. Cada convocatoria pone a dialogar obras, tendencias y estilos de músicos, tanto jóvenes como consagrados. La extraordinaria convergencia resulta en un espectro de notas que cautiva con este lenguaje universal, perfecto para unificar y desvanecer fronteras. De esta forma, multitudinaria y heterogénea por naturaleza, la celebración de carácter anual está dedicada fundamentalmente a la juventud. A su vez, atrae a un público variado, expectante del intercambio, ávido de las sorpresas sonoras que regalan los festejos y del aprendizaje que supone esta propuesta. El pasado año, marcado fuertemente por la pandemia, convirtió las plataformas digitales en escenario del evento. Esta vez, en su decimonovena edición, la gran fiesta musical retorna de manera presencial, teniendo en cuenta las medidas sanitarias pertinentes, en aras de evitar la propagación de la Covid-19.
Music and Cuban culture at the Piña Colada Festival
The best of contemporary Cuban music, in confluence with its diversity of genres and exponents, returns as the epicenter of the Piña Colada Festival, to be held from April 1st to 4th this year, in Ciego de Avila, its usual venue. The musical creation in its maximum expression, invites to the encounter with the most current and relevant of the panorama of this artistic manifestation at national level. Here, fusion and alternative music come together and are articulated by the hand of renowned and talented artists from the Antillean country. Each event brings together the works, tendencies and styles of both young and established musicians. The extraordinary convergence results in a spectrum of notes that captivates with this universal language, perfect to unify and fade borders. In this way, multitudinous and heterogeneous by nature, the annual celebration is dedicated primarily to youth. At the same time, it attracts a varied public, expectant of the exchange, eager for the sound surprises that the festivities offer and the learning that this proposal entails. Last year, strongly marked by the pandemic, the digital platforms became the stage of the event. This time, in its nineteenth edition, the great musical festival returns live, taking into account the relevant health measures, in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Para ello, los patios pertenecientes a Artex, la sede de la Asociación Hermanos Saíz (AHS), el hotel Rueda y Mulato Acelera´o, abrirán sus puertas a las distintas presentaciones. Asimismo, la avileña Plaza Máximo Gómez deviene lugar al aire libre para acoger el buen arte de la mayor de las Antillas. En el festival, se desarrollará el sexto simposio Música y Juventud, dedicado en esta ocasión a la Radio Cubana, en el centenario de su fundación. En los paneles, clases y conferencias que comprende, se tratará sobre su influencia en el gusto musical de los jóvenes cubanos y sobre estos cien años, como plataforma de difusión de las composiciones y ritmos de la isla caribeña. Participarán en el espacio, investigadores y creadores distinguidos con becas de la AHS.
To this end, the courtyards belonging to Artex, the headquarters of the Saíz Brothers Association (AHS), the Rueda Hotel and Mulato Acelera'o Bar will open their doors to the different presentations. Likewise, the Máximo Gómez Plaza in Ciego de Ávila will become an open-air venue for the great art of the largest Antillean island. During the festival, the sixth Music and Youth Symposium will be held, dedicated on this occasion to Cuban Radio on the centennial of its foundation. Panels, classes and lectures will focus on its influence on the musical taste of young Cubans and on these 100 years as a platform for the dissemination of the compositions and rhythms of the Caribbean island. Researchers and creators distinguished with scholarships from the AHS will participate in the space. Thus, among concerts, colloquiums, Master classes, record launches and art in all its aspects, the four days of the legendary cultural event will pass, making those who attend the great festival of fusion music in Cuba vibrate in Cubanness. Simultaneously, the virtual environment will also be a platform to share the event's activities. Así, entre conciertos, coloquios, Master classes, lanzamientos de discos y arte en todas sus vertientes, transcurrirán las cuatro jornadas del legendario suceso cultural, haciendo vibrar en cubanía a quienes asistan a la gran fiesta de la música fusión en Cuba. Simultáneamente, el entorno virtual será también plataforma para compartir el acontecer del evento. En el programa, se integrarán acciones al interior de los barrios, llegando a comunidades de interés social para la ciudad sede de la conmemoración. Igualmente, las casas de cultura desplegarán actividades complementarias que reflejan la creación desde este territorio al centro de Cuba. La Asociación Culinaria de Ciego de Ávila realizará, paralelamente, un festival de cocina con la piña como protagonista. En esta oportunidad, el público podrá disfrutar la deliciosa y tropical fruta, a partir de la gran diversidad de platos en los que se emplea. Surgido en el año 2004, el Festival Piña Colada está desde entonces, organizado por la Dirección Provincial de Cultura avileña, el Proyecto Cultural La Lucecita, de la UNEAC y el destacado cantautor Arnaldo Rodríguez, quien se desempeña como presidente de su comité organizador. Asimismo, varias instituciones artísticas lo auspician, entre las que figuran la AHS, la EGREM, Artex y el Instituto Cubano de la Música. Abril es, entonces, mes de fomento y salvaguarda de la Identidad nacional cubana, motivo de intercambio y difusión del quehacer de los más fieles promotores del arte en la isla. Piña Colada coloca en la cúspide, la cultura popular y tradicional del país caribeño y reúne a su vanguardia artística. Cubanos y viajeros de todas partes, se congregan una vez más, en esta zona central que invita a quedarse. Una vez allí sintonizan, sienten y abrazan melodías que irradian alegría y convidan a la vida; ritmos que resuenan por toda la ciudad, juventud contagiosa, auténtica cubanía y la música de la isla en toda su pluralidad.
The program will integrate actions within the neighborhoods, reaching communities of social interest for the host city. Likewise, the houses of culture will deploy complementary activities that reflect the creation from this territory on the center of Cuba. The Culinary Association of Ciego de Avila will hold, in parallel, a cooking festival with pineapple as the protagonist. In this opportunity, the public will be able to enjoy the delicious and tropical fruit, from the great diversity of dishes in which it is used. Created in 2004, the Piña Colada Festival has been organized since then by the Provincial Culture Office of Ciego de Ávila, the UNEAC's La Lucecita Cultural Project and the outstanding singersongwriter Arnaldo Rodríguez, who is the president of the organizing committee. En las instalaciones turísticas cubanas y otras unidades de servicio, los precios están fijados en pesos cubanos convertibles (CUC). Se aceptan las tarjetas de crédito siempre que NO sean emitidas por bancos estadounidenses ni sus sucursales en otros países. El visitante a nuestro país debe poseer un pasaporte vigente y la correspondiente visa o Tarjeta de Turista. Se exceptúan los países con los que Cuba mantiene convenios de libre visado. Las Tarjetas de Turista pueden solicitarse antes las representaciones consulares cubanas. También en las agencias de viajes y líneas aéreas. Al llegar a la aduana, se entiende por turista aquella persona no residente permanentemente en el país, independientemente de su nacionalidad, que entre al mismo por razones de placer, negocio, salud, deporte, por un periodo mayor de 24 horas y menor de 6 meses. Los turistas podrán importar sus efectos personales, los que entran al país como una admisión temporal; libres del pago de derecho de aduanas y deben ser reexportados a su salida. NO TRAIGA CONSIGO O EN EL EQUIPAJE QUE LE ACOMPAÑA: Droga y estupefacientes. Sustancias psicotrópicas o alucinógenos Sustancias precursoras Explosivos Hemoderivados Literatura, artículos y objetos obscenos o pornográficos o que atenten contra los intereses generales de la nación. EL TURISTA PUEDE EXPORTAR: Hasta veinte (20) unidades de tabaco torcido sueltos, sin necesidad de presentar ningún documento. Hasta cincuenta ( 50) unidades de tabaco torcido, con la condición que estén contenidos en el envases originales, cerrado, sellado y con el holograma oficial establecido, exigencias sin las cuales no se autoriza la exportación. Cantidad en exceso de cincuenta (50) unidades de tabaco torcido, las cuales no pueden exceder el valor de los 5,000.00 CUC, deben presentar la factura de venta oficial expedida por la red de tiendas autorizadas a comercializar tabacos torcidos cubanos, correspondiente a todo el tabaco torcido que intenten extraer y que necesariamente tiene que estar contenidos en envases originales, cerrados y sellados y con el holograma oficial establecido. Las cantidades de tabaco torcido en exceso de las cincuentas (50) unidades que no sea declarado por el viajero y cualquier cantidad que exceda lo declarado, o que habiéndose declarado no se acredite su adquisición lícita mediante la factura de venta oficial o los envases no posean los atributos y demás exigencias que lo identifican como tabaco torcido cubano, dará lugar al decomiso. De igual forma podrá llevar hasta 3 botellas de licor y 200 cigarrillos, Souvenirs o recuerdos de su estancia en el país. TOURISTS MAY EXPORT: Up to (20) units of twisted tobacco (cigars or snuffed) without proof of purchase and up to fifty (50) units of twisted tobacco as long as packed in their original containers, closed, sealed and exhibiting the official established hologram, otherwise said export is forbidden. For any amount exceeding fifty (50) units of twisted tobacco and not exceeding 5,000 cuc, tourists must provide official sales invoice issued by any of the stores authorized to market Cuban twisted tobacco, corresponding to all the tobacco to be exported and packed in their original containers, closed, sealed and exhibiting the official established hologram.
