Bangs Canyon Trails Ready to Ride
B
icycle Colorado’s trail work in Bangs Canyon near Grand Junction wrapped up last fall. Through a partnership with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and local mountainbike group COPMOBA, we completed the three-year project of creating a network of sustainable singletrack trails. The project garnered national attention for developing trails within riding distance of a nearby city. We continue work in the Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area to develop a connected trail system. Bicycle Colorado Executive Director Dan Grunig recently presented to senior leaders at the BLM about developing partnerships and creating similar sustainable opportunities in Colorado.
