What has God done for me?
God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die.
Nothing comes free in this world. So why would God give me something for free?
God showed his love for us when he sent his only Son into the world to give us life. Real love isn’t our love for God, but his love for us. God sent his Son to be the sacrifice by which our sins are forgiven.
What can Jesus Christ do for me?
My friends, the message is that Jesus can forgive your sins! . . . Everyone who has faith in Jesus is set free.
The Lord has promised that he will not leave us or desert us. That should make you feel like saying, “The Lord helps me! Why should I be afraid of what people can do for me?”
OK. Jesus was a good person, he did all sorts of miracles, he said all kinds of interesting stuff, so what’s that got to do with me?
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life! Without me, no one can go to the Father.”
What
else do I get out of it?
God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and selfcontrolled.
What
have I got to lose?
Paul, a man who had a lot going for him, says,
“Christ has shown me that what I once thought was valuable is worthless. Nothing is as wonderful as knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have given up everything else and count it all as garbage. All I want is Christ and to know that I belong to him.”
So what’s the catch?
Just believe. Jesus said, “If you are thirsty, come to me and drink! Have faith in me, and you will have lifegiving water flowing from deep inside you.”
