When Everything Started Genesis 1-3

Hi! I’m Eve, and this is my husband Adam. God made us to be like Him and to live in the wonderful world He made. God made everything, from the tallest tree and brightest star to the smallest ant, and He said it was all very good. Adam and I live in this beautiful garden called Eden. We take care of the garden and we can eat fruit from any tree we want, except for one.

4

God made all of the trees and plants that grow on the ground so we could have good food to eat.

God made the oceans and all the sea creatures that live in them, like fish, whales, and even giant squids!

6

Some of the creatures God made can fly! I love looking up in the sky and seeing the colorful birds flying by.

7

On the last day of creating the world, God made land animals like cute dogs, tall giraffes, and big, hairy lions.

8

Adam and I listened to a snake that told us we should eat the fruit of the only tree that was off-limits. We disobeyed God and ate it. That was the first sin.

Starting Over Genesis 6-8; 9:1-17

My name is Noah, and God warned me about what He was planning to do. God said to build a big boat called an ark because He was going to send a flood to wash away all the sin and evil in the world. People had decided they didn’t want to love God anymore, and they were mean and awful all the time. God promised to start over with me and my family.

10

My sons and I built the ark just like God told us. It took a really long time!

11

When the ark was ready, God sent two of every kind of animal for us to keep safe from the flood.

12

It rained for forty whole days and nights. Even the mountains were underwater, but my family and the animals were safe in the ark.

13

After the water went down, I sent out a dove to see if it was safe to come out of the ark. It brought back some olive leaves, and I knew the trees were growing again.

14

When we came back out onto dry land, God put a rainbow in the sky as a promise that He would not flood the whole world again.
