Perfectly Created After God created the universe—earth and sky, sun, moon, stars, and all living creatures—He made man. He gathered some soil and shaped the first human to look like Himself. God created the man in his image. Then God blew His breath of life into Adam and he came alive. Adam was wonderfully made by a perfect God. God was pleased with all He had created and saw that it was good.

Adam lived in the beautiful Garden of Eden, but God saw that it wasn’t good for Adam to be alone. So God made Adam fall into a deep sleep. From one of Adam’s ribs, God made a woman and brought her to Adam. She was wonderfully made—perfect, just like Adam. “Wow! She is just like me!” Adam said, and he named her Eve. - Genesis 1:1-27 & 3:20
Not only were Adam and Eve fearful ly and wonderful ly made—so were you! You were perfectly made-created in the image of a perfect God. 9
Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Isaiah 43:5

Nothing to Fear In the beautiful world God made, everyone had become wicked. This made God sad, and He decided to put an end to it all. But one man still loved God, so God said to him: “Noah, build an ark big enough for your family and two of each animal. I am going to send a flood to destroy everything on earth. Don’t be afraid. I will keep you and your family safe.” Noah did as God said, and even when the thunder and rainstorms came, Noah, his family, and the animals were safe in the ark.

It rained for forty days and forty nights, and the entire world was under water. Even the highest mountains were covered! But God saved Noah, his family, and the animals. After many months of floating, God caused the water to dry up. And finally, everyone inside the ark could come out into the open again. What a sight! A beautiful rainbow covered the sky, and God said to Noah, “This rainbow is a sign that I will never again flood the earth. From this day on, I will be with you and your family.” - Genesis 6:5-8:22
Even when the flood destroyed everything on Earth and the rain stil came pouring, God stood by His promise to Noah and kept him safe. God wil keep this promise to you and keep you safe, too. 13
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7 (NLT)

A God Who Cares Abraham was a friend of God, and God had blessed him with everything he could ask for—except a child. “Who will inherit my possessions?” Abraham wondered. Without a child, Abraham would be a faint memory after he died, and his family line would end. This was heavy on Abraham’s heart, but God had a plan. One night God said to Abraham, “Look at the stars and count them.” This was impossible for Abraham because the sky was filled with innumerable twinkling lights. “This is how it will be with your family,” God said. “They will be as many as the stars.”

But Abraham and Sarah became old enough to be great grandparents and they still did not have a child. One day God came to visit them. “Remember the promise I gave you?” He said. “Next year, you will have a son.” Abraham wondered, “I am almost one hundred years old!” Sarah laughed, thinking, “How will I have a child in my old age?” But God had not forgotten His promise, and one year later they had a son. They named him Isaac, which means laughter. Isaac grew up and became the first “star in the sky” of the promise God had given to His friend Abraham. – Genesis 15:1-5, 17, 18:10-12 & 21:1-7
God cares greatly for you, so when something bothers you or makes you sad, God says to tel l him al l about it and leave it with him . God is much better at handl ing your worries than you are. 17
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

God’s Good Plan Joseph’s father, Jacob, loved Joseph very much. In fact, Jacob loved Joseph more than his older brothers and one day he gave him a beautiful coat made of rich colored cloth. This special attention made Joseph’s older brothers jealous, and they hated him. One day, Joseph told his brothers, “I dreamed that all of you would bow down to me one day and that I would be the greatest one of all.” Joseph’s brothers hated him even more. “Who does he think he is?” they thought. One day they decided to get rid of him, so they trapped him in a pit and sold him as a slave!
