This February, Sotheby’s Impressionist & Modern Art Day sale will be led by a spectacular depiction of Waterloo Bridge by Claude Monet. Belonging to the iconic series of works he completed during his visits to London at the turn of the century, this stunning pastel comes to the market after thirty years in the collection of Bernard & Josephine Chaus. Waterloo Bridge is accompanied by a superb selection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works from the leading artists of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, including Camille Pissarro, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Gauguin and Théo van Rysselberghe.
Sotheby’s Impressionist & Modern Art Day sale will also bring together magnificent examples of Modern and Surrealist works.
