SYNOPSIS Our story, ‘The Great Bird Tale’ takes us beyond the magic of performance and drives home a strong message of finding one’s voice and using it even if it is not the most popular thing to do. This year our students in Year 3 participated in our ‘Bialik in the Bush’ program, gaining a greater appreciation for our land and what it means to ‘tread lightly.’ In particular, the students researched our native birds, those indigenous to our local and wider Australian environment. The students gained an understanding of how they need to co-exist with the environment and when something is wrong we must speak up for those who do not have a voice.
