Spearfish Middle School 2019 Fall Activities meeting will be Sunday, August 18, at 5:00 p.m. in the middle school gym. This meeting is for any students that are wanting to participate in cross country, football, and volleyball. 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students are eligible to compete in cross country, 7th and 8th grade female students are eligible to participate in volleyball, and 7th and 8th grade males are eligible to compete in football. Our first practice for each of these activities will take place on August 22, with times TBD as dates get closer. This meeting will cover activity expectations, travel guidelines, eligibility rules, impact testing (important part of our concussion protocol), and an opportunity to meet with coaches. Impact testing and a sports physical must be completed for volleyball and football before athletes can participate in practice or competitions. Sports physicals can be done at any clinic and paperwork for those physicals can be picked up in the MS and HS activities office and/ or at any clinics here in Spearfish. We will run impact testing at Spearfish Middle School and will provide information on specific classrooms for testing as dates get closer. Volleyball impact testing will be on August 19 at 10:00 a.m. for 7th grade and August 19 at 11:00 a.m. for 8th grade. Football impact testing will be on August 20 at 10:00 a.m. for 7th grade and 11:00 a.m. for 8th grade students.

The Federal/State Lunch Program is available for economically disadvantaged students in the Spearfish schools. Free or reduced rates will become effective the day the application is approved.
