Ladybirds 1 Room

Welcome

Welcome to the Ladybirds 1 Room (LB1)! We're thrilled to have your little ones join us on a journey of growth and discovery. Our goal is to maintain the same warm and nurturing atmosphere that the Caterpillar Room offers, while also encouraging the first steps of independence. At this age, independence means curious exploration of the room and forming bonds with new friends. We're here to support and guide them as they take those little steps towards self-discovery. Our dedicated team will be there every step of the way, providing attentive supervision as they venture into new territories. Our care is tailored for little ones aged around 1 to 2 years. We believe in creating an environment where sensory experiences and play take centre stage. Here, your children will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and flourish, as they make the exciting transition from babies to confident toddlers. So let's embrace the giggles, the messiness and the joy together, as we watch your little ones spread their wings and become confident Ladybirds!

Our room Welcome to Ladybirds 1 (LB1), where flexibility and individuality are at the heart of our daily routines. We understand that each child is unique and that's why we tailor our activities to suit their needs and interests, ensuring a happy and comfortable environment for everyone. Our room is designed with the utmost care and attention to detail. We have two dedicated rooms – the main room and the sensory room. Our main room with designated play areas - role play, reading, and construction. An accessible, low round table serves meals and transforms into a craft area. In our familythemed role play, kids explore various scenarios. Our cozy reading corner sparks a love for books and in the construction area, imagination soars with colourful blocks, trains, and cars. Meanwhile, the sensory room offers a haven for exploring and stimulating their senses through various textures, lights, and interactive play. At LB1, we take pride in nurturing growing children's confidence, supporting them every step of the way to build self-assurance, social skills and lasting friendships.

Activities Nursery rhymes are a staple in LB1! We love to use the magic of music and rhyme to engage and entertain the children. It's amazing to see their faces light up as they join in and learn new songs together. Music is not just fun; it also plays a significant role in language development and early literacy skills. One of the highlights of our daily schedule is our outdoor adventures! Every day, we make sure to go outside for some fresh air and fun, whether it's play in the local play park, within our secure garden or walks to discover the local areas. It's a fantastic opportunity for our little explorers to connect with nature and the world around them. We've incorporated soft play elements into our multipurpose room. This means that even on rainy days, the children can still have a blast indoors with our soft play equipment. It's a safe and exciting space that encourages physical activity and imaginative play.

Our sleep room Our sensory room is transformed into a peaceful sleep room. Sleep time is equipped with individual mats (one mat is designated to each child and stored separately). If you prefer, you can provide comforting items like soothers to help your little one doze off. Rest assured, a dedicated staff member will be present during sleep times, ensuring your child's undisturbed and restful snooze. When a child wakes up, they will head back into the main room, eager to begin a new day of play and exploration. At Ladybirds 1, we recognize the significance of quality sleep, preparing your child for a fresh start in each new part of the day. Our commitment to their well-being extends to providing a nurturing environment for both rest and play.

Everyday Essentials Clothing pegs for Ladybirds can be found at the room entrance, as you go down the small set of stairs. Pegs are to the right of you - your little ones artwork and photos can be found on the peg board to your left. Each child should have a set of spare clothes, indoor shoes or slippers, and outdoor shoes. In colder weather, we kindly ask parents to provide a warm hat, gloves, scarf, and coat. For rainy days, waterproofs are essential, and during hot weather, a sun hat is a must-have. To avoid any mix-ups, please make sure to label all clothing items with your child's name. This helps us keep everything in order and prevents any items from getting lost or misplaced. To keep all these items together, we request that they be provided in a fabric bag made of crochet, felt, or canvas. This ensures durability and easy storage for your child's belongings.
