CLARK: Today marks the 100-year anniversary of the founding of the University. Tuesday, faculty, staff, students and alumni gathered in Anderson Arena to celebrate the landmark with the Centennial Academic Convocation. Centennial Celebration co-chair Larry Weiss opened the convocation followed by President Carol Cartwright and other notable University figures. The keynote speaker, best-selling author and 2000 Disney Teacher of the Year, Ron Clark, spoke to the crowd of more than 1,000 about the importance of “living a life that won’t have regrets.” Clark told his story of teaching and overcoming adversity to make a difference. “Don’t make excuses, find a solution,” Clark said.
