For one University student, sports reporting has taken a turn to humor, and it comes right from the heart of campus. John Bernard, a junior marketing major, is a reporter for the college based news site Palestra.net, which gives students a chance to become paid journalists and to provide unique and entertaining content to their classmates. But Bernard plans on bringing entertainment to students on a whole new level by releasing a video every weekday this month that shows and encourages the spirit of April Fool’s Day. Feeling he was never really a strong sports reporter, but has a taste for humor, Bernard has chosen to stick to filming the funny aspects of the University’s campus this month. “I always thought April Fool’s day got a bad rap,” Bernard said. “I think even though it’s referred to as a day, it really
should be celebrated the whole month.” Not wanting to give away too much, Bernard said the videos are “totally different than anything you would typically watch on Palestra.net.” The weekday videos will feature everything from fake stories to everyday childish prank ideas for college students. Some will employ special effects, and are sure to strike a smile on viewers’ faces. “I would have to say my favorite video is probably the Dikki Bird Hotel commercials, parts one and two,” Bernard said, “I lived there for a summer and that place was a death trap, but also a comedic video gold mine.” And until recently, Bernard had no idea his videos were even noticed by an audience until people on campus started approaching him about them. In fact, one of Bernard’s videos involving the BG football team attracted quite a bit of administrative and public attention — causing the video to

SITTIN’ IN THE SUN: Heather Sabin and Brian Kramer enjoy the beautiful day as they relax nestled in their cocoon like hammock outside of Kohl Hall yesterday afternoon.
One wheel is better than two, at least that is how freshman Matt Robinson looks at the world. The first year business major may be better known to some as “the guy who rides around on a unicycle.” Robinson's choice of transportation has made him something of a celebrity on campus. “That guy is awesome,” said junior Mark Reid, “I see him speeding past bikers and I am like, ‘Whoa, I am going to get out of his way,’” Reid said. Robinson has been juggling since he was a junior in high school, and he doesn’t plan to stop anytime soon. A relative University newcomer to the juggling scene, the freshman business major
has since learned to juggle while riding a unicycle and performs regularly with the Northwest Ohio juggling group, the i75 Jugglers. Robinson picked up his unicycle at a second hand store for $25 and has been trying to master the skill ever since. “Sometimes I fall off and I have hit myself in the eye before,” Robinson said. “But you just keep falling off until one day you stop falling off.” Robinson, who grew up in Hillard, Ohio, said he began juggling just to curb boredom.
