IB Visual Arts Exhibition
May 2021 Visual Arts Exhibition cancelled due to Covid-19
The Visual Arts exam exhibition at BG is usually the festive culmination of two years of hard work from IB Visual Arts students. The students show the highlights of their development as artists. The visual art class is a journey in which they grow, challenge themselves, realize new things about themselves and become better at expressing themselves technically and conceptually. During the two years they mature individually, but also as a group, and the exhibition usually shows a great variety of media and individual means of expressions and motifs.
This year the exhibition was cancelled because of Covid- and what a pity.
This year’s class had an impressive amount of interesting works to show. The class, consisting of 20 talented art students, had been looking so much forward to sharing their art with the rest of the school, their teachers, family and friends. They had been looking forward to guiding the stx students in English, showing them what young international art can look like; and to show their math and history teacher that they can express themselves artistically.
It is part of the exam requirement that the students provide the IB examiner with a photo of their exhibition, so a few students spent hours setting up their works at school, photographing them and then taking them down again. The majority of students photographed at home or made a virtual exhibition.
Visual Arts will be back next year!
