Hello Community Friends, Everyday there is a story to tell of an individual experience that changes someone’s life with a shared purpose. Today, I share with you the story of Lincoln and Ryan
Lincoln is a 5 year old kindergarten student at Governor Winslow and Ryan is a 23 year old graduate of the Marshfield Post Program. Our friend Lincoln began with us in our Camp program last Summer and is challenged with a very rare disease called Prader-Willi Syndrome. Like Lincoln, Ryan attended the BGC as a youth and wanted to give back to the Club, as he also cares for a younger brother with autism. Ryan’s primary role is to watch over Lincoln and keep him in safe care around his daily activities. Through old fashioned love, caring, and mutual respect, the two have developed a sincere friendship where they elevate each other. Together at the Club they are inseparable playing street hockey, doing homework projects or answering Lincoln’s incredible curiosity about Club activities. This friendship, through my eyes, represents how our purpose and mission lives every minute the kids are here. Thank you Lincoln and Ryan for showing us everyday what friendships are all about!

KEAGAN MARCELLA
Keagan Marcella is excited to be back at the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield, after coming to the club as a kid himself at the Library Plaza location 15 years ago. In his new position he will support and care for members while teaching new skills in traditional and computer arts.
SWING SET EXPANDED!
The popularity of ou r new swing set installed in October prompted the Club to expand the set by 4 more swings! More seats for mor e FUN! Friends Raegan & Graham enjoyed th e swings during our April Vacation Camp !
NEW FLAG POLE for THE SUMMER Swing by the Club to see our New Flag Pole beautifully installed next to the pool house. Each day during Summer, campers will start the day with the Pledge of Allegiance as we gather together to kick off a fun-filled day of activities!

OLYMPIC HOCKEY DAY
Many thanks to our neighbor, The Village at Proprietor’s Green, who invited our kids to spend time petting and learning about baby goats, pigs, cats, and dogs. Member Lillian holding one of the kittens at the event
CELTICS VISIT BGC APRIL CAMP The Celtics’ cheerleaders made a surprise visit to the club as part of their Threes That Feed Project. While here they offered members a free Chick-Fil-A lunch and a photo-op with the Celtics ‘84 Championship Trophy!
In honor of Marshfield’s 2022 Olympic hockey star, David Warsofsky, the club held an indoor hockey tournament. The event encouraged friendly competition and gave the feeling of going to the rink to compete! Many thanks to the Warsofsky family for providing hot pretzels, popcorn & T-shirts for our members!
BGC SUPPORTS UKRAINE
In response to the conflict in Ukraine, BGC and the South Shore community stepped up. Over a 3 day period hundreds of donations of first aid supplies and hygiene items were received, packed, and shipped to Ukraine in an effort to show support.

Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield is proud to announce Stephen Bowers as 2022 Youth of the year. Stephen was chosen after being nominated by BGC staff and board members and judged by a panel of community leaders for his essay writing & public speaking skills coupled with his dedication to our community. Stephen will be attending St. Anselm College this fall majoring in Criminal Justice.
Congratulations to each of our Youth of the Year Finalists: Jack Spencer, Molly Rand, and Kendra Donahue My Boys and Girls Club experience is unlike any other. From a very young age, I have been deeply immersed in the Club. I was born into a family that knew nothing better than volunteering and community work. I had no choice in this lifestyle but as I grew older, I realized I would not have wanted it any other way. STEPHEN BOWERS 2022 Youth of the Year
New Member:Deirine Deirine, or De as she likes to be called, is one of the newest members to join the Marshfield BGC. When De first came to the club she was shy and preferred being at the front desk with Patty. Overtime, De with the help of staff, slowly branched out and made new friendships with the kids at the club. Now, she exudes confidence at the club every day! She loves running around with her friends outside and particularly enjoys drawing & dancing. De has shown to be a very responsible, respectful member of our community and always looks for an opportunity to help the staff throughout the day.
