SHOW SYNOPSIS

The holiday classic soars off the screen in this Broadway Junior, 60-minute musical adaptation of the beloved television special. Filled with holiday hits like “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “A Holly Jolly Christmas,” Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer™ JR. features all of your favorite characters including Santa and Mrs. Claus, Hermey the Elf, Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster, Clarice, Yukon Cornelius and, of course, Rudolph. It’s an adventure that teaches us that what makes you different can be what makes you special.

Because of his shiny nose, Rudolph doesn’t feel like he belongs in Christmastown and sets off to find a place that accepts him. Along his journey, he encounters fellow misfits, only to realize that home is where he has belonged the whole time. When a storm threatens to keep Santa’s sleigh from taking flight, it’s up to Rudolph to save Christmas!

DIRECTOR’S NOTES

Stars at the Fillbrandt and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County have joined forces in creating the ultimate youth theatrical experience in Kern County focused on skill building, confidence and leadership cultivation.

The curtain is drawn at Stars Theatre and the stage lights come on to reveal a cast of children posed against a colorful background.  This is the moment that all of the hard work and commitment pays off…our children are on stage and about to perform!  As part of our performing arts experience, our children are mentored by a team of performance educators with professional directors and choreographers; glamorized by a costumer; supported by sound engineers, stage crew and many other professionals working together so that when the curtain is up, our children are given a real theater experience of a professional production.

We are so grateful to work with your talented child(ren) and we hope that this is an experience that they will be cherish through adulthood.

ABOUT US

The Stage Door Academy by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County is an organization that specializes in the education of youth in the visual and performing arts.

The enrichment of our children in the visual and performing arts has benefits of improving the skills of acting, singing, dancing, painting, drawing and sculpting. However, the most fundamental benefits of studying the fine arts are promoting creativity, gaining social skills by working in teams, building self-confidence and encouraging individuality in self-expression. We view these benefits as invaluable assets to mold children into becoming successful adults.
