Kick off the new year by joining us as we highlight the accomplishments and milestones of the Chamber and our partners and welcome the newest Chairman of the Board at the Chamber’s largest business event of the year. The evening begins with a networking cocktail hour with 600+ Chamber partners and local officials.
Rise and shine and join hundreds of Chamber partners for a morning of breakfast and networking. In addition to Chamber news, announcements, and a keynote speaker, the Coffee Hour sponsor will showcase their business in front of the community’s largest professional business organization.
WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE The WE to the Power of Three (WE3) was created to inspire and empower women in the South Central Kentucky business community and includes inspirational speakers, networking, and local vendors. Attendees will walk away with posh gift bags containing goodies from local businesses.
EXCELLENCE AWARDS LUNCHEON Occurring during Small Business Appreciation Month, the Excellence Awards honors the Small Business Person of the Year and ATHENA as the keynote speakers during the program. The ATHENA Young Professional of the Year award is also given.
SMALL BUSINESS GOLF CLASSIC This fun day of golf allows partners to network in a relaxed and friendly environment with complimentary snacks, lunch, and beverages. Player registration is open to Chamber partners and attracts players from businesses large and small.
WELCOME BACK WKU Western Kentucky University is a significant contributor to the area’s successful business climate, and this event gives Chamber partners the first opportunity to market to WKU’s students. Located on WKU’s expansive South Lawn, partners set up carnival-style to provide giveaways, samples, activities, and marketing materials to 3,000+ students their first week back.
BUSINESS AFTER HOURS Business After Hours is a monthly evening networking event wherein 75+ guests take advantage of the opportunity to build connections with potential clients in a relaxed atmosphere.

Home to restaurants, pubs, a historic theater, a performing arts center, two parks, multiple businesses, local government offices, and a minor league baseball stadium, downtown Bowling Green attracts visitors galore. The well-manicured lawns at the city’s Fountain Square and Circus Square parks offer attractive backdrops for almost anything from simple afternoon picnics to outdoor concerts and even weddings. During the warm summer months, the city turns on the sprayground at Circus Square Park where the young and young at heart can run through the cooling waters. During the fall, Bowling Green celebrates with Harvest Fest, a downtown entertainment festival for all ages. When the weather turns cold, downtown lights up from early December through February where hundreds of lights twinkle in the trees creating a magical place for brisk evening walks. In addition to a beautiful downtown, Bowling Green provides multiple opportunities for work. Bowling Green is home to more than 1,400 businesses from service providers, to hospitality, to retail and manufacturing. Bowling Green’s diverse and growing economic base drives the city’s success. City leaders have kept taxes and spending low making Bowling Green an attractive place for people and businesses from all over the world. The city has not increased property taxes in more than fifteen years while at the same time maintaining a high level of service, including four accredited city departments: police, fire, public works, and 911 dispatch center. Small enough to maintain small-town charm but diverse enough to feel cosmopolitan, Bowling Green welcomes businesses and people from all over the world. More than 12 percent of the local population is foreign-born. People from more than 35 nationalities now call Bowling Green home, and more than 60 languages are spoken in our local public schools. Bowling Green is community led, service driven, and powered by growth.

Significant investments in the Parks and Recreation Department have created recreational facilities that allow residents to engage in a wide variety of sports and other activities. Thoughtful planning has created these opportunities not just for children but for residents of all ages. Last year, the County cut the ribbon on its indoor tennis and multipurpose sports complex at Michael Buchanon Park. The facility includes six indoor tennis courts, six outdoor courts, an indoor playground, and four racquetball courts. The flexible design of this multipurpose building allows for the courts to be converted to fields for soccer and football or courts for volleyball or basketball which is essential to helping residents access their
favorite sports during the rainy spring and winter seasons. This $8.2 million investment highlights Warren County’s commitment to improving the quality of life for its residents. They have 35,000 customers (and growing) in the Bowling Green area and over 182,000 in Kentucky. Atmos Energy’s vision is to be the safest provider of natural gas services through business and system modernization, while continuing to invest in safety, innovation, environmental sustainability, and communities. In the last five years, Atmos Energy invested more than $318 million in Kentucky to improve the natural gas infrastructure.
Atmos Energy delivers energy that is affordable and environmentally friendly. Homes that use natural gas for heating, water heating, and cooking can save approximately $500 every year on utility bills, plus reduce their carbon footprint (compared to an all-electric home). Affordable and reliable natural gas is essential to the economic development and growth of Bowling Green. Atmos Energy invests millions to provide service to new residential and commercial customers, in addition to new industrial facilities. Natural gas and renewable natural gas will continue to play a vital role in helping Kentucky’s industrial customers meet their environmental sustainability goals. Our electric division serves a population of about 50,000 within city limits, and we take pride in maintaining the highest Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3®) status from the American Public Power Association for providing customers with the highest degree of reliable, safe electric service.
• The Sharing the Warmth program helps qualified families and individuals with energy assistance. Please contact: Community Action of Southern KY and Salvation Army. • The Atmos Cares weatherization program partners with local community agencies to support families that need weatherization in their homes. The company offers up to $3,000 in home weatherization to Atmos Energy qualified customers. Please contact: Community Action of Southern KY. • There are energy saving tips and online energy management tools available at www.atmosenergy.com. Atmos Energy provides natural gas safety information to customers and communities. If you smell gas, act fast! Leave the area immediately, then call 911 and Atmos Energy at 866-322-8667. Before you start a digging project like planting a tree, installing a fence, or building a pool, call 811 at least 3 business days before digging to have utility-owned lines marked. It’s free, and it’s the law.
After the December tornadoes, over 24,000 of our 31,500 customers were without power. The tornadoes destroyed about 200 distribution poles and 52 transmission poles, resulting in significant damage. Within one day, we were able to get power restored to half those customers. By bringing in mutual aid crews – over 100 additional linemen from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia – BGMU was able to get all customers back online within 12 days, much sooner than first anticipated. Although we are facing material shortages and shipping delays, our goal is to get all damaged streetlights repaired or replaced in 2022. BGMU treats water from Barren River and pumps it to five elevated water storage tanks. Our plant expansion is on track for completion during summer 2022, increasing plant capacity to 45 million gallons of water per day and ensuring we can meet the demands of our community’s growth. This system includes over 290 miles of mains. BGMU also maintains over 270 miles of sewer mains and can treat 12 million gallons of wastewater per day. BGMU’s Fiber Optic Division has served the community since 2001 and provides telephone, internet, and point-to-point services for area businesses over an all-fiber network with 24/7 support and an uptime rating greater than 99.99%. We know that in today’s fast-paced world, staying connected is critical.

During the aftermath of tornado damage to BGMU Fiber’s infrastructure, both Fiber Division employees and contractors worked closely with customers to get everyone back online as quickly as possible. Our vision is to be customer-focused in all we do. Customer service employees processed over 59,000 calls and over 7,300 applications during 2021. After the December tornadoes, the department handled increased call volumes and went out of its way to help displaced customers who had questions and concerns about policies and billing. We also help our community by participating in United Way’s Day of Caring each summer, collecting hundreds of gifts for Hope House’s Affordable Christmas program, and sponsoring events at local schools and non-profit organizations. Our employees are proud to live in Warren County and are even prouder to serve here.

We are committed to ensuring these services are affordable and available to our region now and in the future. Warren Water’s team culture is built upon dedication and a spirit of giving. Warren Water delivers over 9.1 million gallons of water per day through the system’s 1,184 miles of water lines, which span 530 square miles. The wastewater system includes over 211 miles of sewer lines and 70 wastewater-pumping stations that transport more than 2 million gallons of wastewater each day. “Warren Water’s legacy of dedication continues to hold true from overcoming the challenges faced during the pandemic and the immediate response to the devastating tornadoes in December of 2021,” said John Dix, general manager with Warren Water. “Regardless of a crisis – our water heroes continue as key workers to keep water flowing and wastewater taken away and treated.” The giving spirit of Warren Water did not lessen during the pandemic or waver after the storms but grew stronger as our community faced greater needs than ever before. Warren Water’s team of water professionals continued to give of their time, income, and professional service in numerous ways. Employees achieved 100% participation in the United Way campaign and exceeded their goal by over 50%.

drive, said Dix. “During the summer, employees built a gaga ball pit for Richardsville Elementary School as a part of the United Way Day of Caring to offer more interactive outdoor play for students.” On December 11, Warren Water emergency response began at 2 a.m. maintaining service with no interruptions during and after the storms thanks to the dedication of our team and various partner utilities from the region. Warren Water swiftly moved to help our community from the devastating losses from the tornadoes, a relief drive was organized which received 724 food items in 48 hours. Nearly $1,000 in clothing and toys were donated by the Employee Committee for a family in need. “The response over the last few years to meet the needs of a growing community, endure a pandemic, and respond to a natural disaster reinforced our commitment to excellence,” added Dix. “Warren Water is proud to serve the residents and businesses in Warren County and to be your local water utility.”

arren Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation (Warren RECC) was formed in 1938 to bring electricity to rural areas of South Central Kentucky. We began with 325 members in Warren, Edmonson, and Simpson Counties. Today, we serve over 70, 000 members across Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Grayson, Logan, Ohio, Simpson, and Warren Counties, making us the 10th largest local power company (LPC) in the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) region. We are also the largest TVA provider in Kentucky. Warren RECC strives to be the trusted energy advisor for all our commercial and industrial members. We work in partnership with TVA to offer financial and rate incentives to qualified industrial and commercial customers to assist with infrastructure costs and lower overall operating costs. We have an engineering team dedicated to working directly with companies and economic development officials to help make sure our communities have healthy, thriving economies. During the pandemic, we provided a “Back to Business” rate incentive to help industries recover and restart their operations. In addition to working with economic development officials and local industries, we strive to improve our communities in other ways. Since 2019, Warren RECC has partnered with like-minded companies to bring high-speed internet to as many of our members as possible. We are kickstarting the effort to bridge the digital divide by focusing on providing service in the rural areas. To date, we are offering service in parts of Warren, Simpson, and Grayson counties. We look forward to growing our projects and expanding into additional areas. Warren RECC was created locally by people who wanted to make a difference in their community. With over 1,000 employees, Graves Gilbert Clinic (GGC) has grown to become one of the area’s largest locally-owned businesses. GGC’s 212 providers, practicing in 36 specialties, make it the largest physician-owned group in the commonwealth. “In 2021 more than 1 million people came through our doors,” said Chris Thorn, CEO of Graves Gilbert Clinic. “We are honored by the significant level of trust placed in our organization. We work hard every day to provide the high-quality care our patients expect and deserve.”
In 1937 Dr. Graves and Dr. Gilbert partnered to create Graves Gilbert Clinic, which was not a common practice for the time. Over the next 85 years they grew their clinic to best service the growing community to now have over 200 providers, representing 30 medical specialties, and over 20 locations spanning the South Central Kentucky area.

In 2020, The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) identified Graves Gilbert Clinic as the only group out of 2,600 groups in the country to achieve all of the MGMA patient quality and financial measures. During a pandemic in 2021, Graves Gilbert Clinic also earned MGMA’s Superior Performer status and was recognized by the Hospital Financial Management Associated (HFMA) as one of the top five groups in the country. In response to the tornado’s impact on the Bowling Green community, the physicians of Graves Gilbert Clinic donated $100,000 towards Tornado Relief efforts to the local chapters of the American Red Cross, United Way of Southern Kentucky, and the International Center of Kentucky.

s a healthcare leader in South Central Kentucky since 1972, TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital stood with and helped support the Bowling Green community through unprecedented challenges in 2021. Against a backdrop of two prominent surges of COVID-19 that drove high rates of infection, a catastrophic storm system spawned an EF-3 tornado that left destruction in its wake as it tore across Bowling Green, as the community reeled from the devastation, colleagues at TriStar Greenview stepped up. Hospital leadership enacted a severe weather plan in preparation for the storm to ensure continuity of care and, even before the storm left the area, colleagues from every department navigated through debrisfilled streets to meet the community’s medical needs. But the full extent of relief efforts extended beyond medical care, so groups of volunteers from TriStar Greenview traded their scrubs for skid steers, their stethoscopes for chainsaws to help neighbors remove fallen trees and clear debris. The hospital also coordinated a week of blood drives that generated more than 200 units of blood to address a critical shortage. Most significantly, TriStar Greenview leadership coordinated a $250,000 donation from its parent company, HCA Healthcare, to assist local relief efforts.

In 2021, work began on a major renovation and expansion project to the hospital’s cardiac catheterization laboratory. Completion of the additional catheterization lab and electrophysiology lab, where electrophysiologists diagnose and treat heart-rhythm disorders such as arrhythmia, will enhance cardiac offerings for the community. The new space will be among the first in the United States to feature innovative imaging equipment that will allow physicians to perform procedures with optimal image quality while minimizing the dose of radiation to the patient. Additionally, the hospital brought innovative orthopedic surgical treatments to the region, adding two surgical robots that expand treatment options for total knee replacement. The hospital was also the first in Kentucky to introduce an advanced augmented reality guidance system that gives spine surgeons virtual X-ray vision to enhance implant placement. WHAT
South Central Kentucky Learning About Unique and New Careers Here—SCK LAUNCH—is an overarching talent development strategy that begins at the earliest opportunity in kindergarten and carries to graduation. Building on the momentum achieved through implementation of the principles of Franklin-Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” in elementary and middle schools, then continuing the efforts in our local high schools through immersing students in knowledge about local careers. Our elementary and secondary school systems rank among the best in Kentucky and the U.S. because of our region’s commitment to strong community values, supportive business leaders, and parent involvement. As the fastest-growing city in Kentucky, a qualified pipeline of talent is the key to sustaining the success of Bowling Green and Warren County.
The intent of the SCK LAUNCH initiative is to ensure our children graduate with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to succeed in whatever path they choose upon graduation. Regardless of their path, we want them to be prepared to succeed in their chosen career pathway and understand that we are all life-long learners. SCK LAUNCH envisions all students graduating demonstrating the characteristics of The Ideal Graduate – Global-Minded, Emotional Intelligence and Lifelong Learner.

Through the backbone support of the Chamber, SCK LAUNCH drives toward a common agenda, shared measurement, continuous communication and mutually reinforcing activities. The community’s Collective Impact efforts inspire the powerful education and business partnership necessary to create the talent pipeline for high-demand sectors to grow in our economy.
HOW SCK LAUNCH prepares students by providing opportunities to explore their interests, experience relevant work, and connect with the real-world. The SCK LAUNCH Community Plan provides the implementation road map to engage business and school partners to strategically coordinate and align efforts. The work of SCK LAUNCH is organized and conducted by specialized tactic teams made up of community members and educators who bring a diversity of expertise and a passion for education. Gallup’s research indicates that a student who has a meaningful work-related experience before graduation is more likely to persist in the real-world. The goal of SCK LAUNCH is that 100% of students will graduate with career-related experience which will be directly applied to the local workforce opportunities, thus creating a pipeline for qualified and available applicants.

owling Green Independent Schools are preparing students to be excellent citizens, employees, and future leaders, both locally and globally. Educators in our schools strive to get to know each child and their families, to provide them the best opportunities to learn, grow, and connect to the world.

arren County Public Schools (WCPS) strives to provide our students with achievement, opportunities, and safety in and out of the classroom. That mission has never been more clear than after tornadoes devastated our community in December 2021. Our WCPS faculty and staff dove in moments after the tornadoes to help our community. WCPS opened schools providing shelter for impacted families and a place for first responders to rest and eat during the search and recovery operation. We collected food and supplies and raised funds to help our families and community, while our mental health staff provided community-wide mental health support. In the critical hours after the storm, WCPS staff members rode a bus in the darkness of the most impacted areas going door to door urging families to seek shelter and ensuring them that they would have a safe, warm place to stay in our schools. For over a week immediately after the tornadoes, our WCPS Nutrition and Dining Services Department delivered meals to the hardest-hit areas. They also opened our four high school cafeterias and distributed 25,614 meals to families and children in need. In addition, in the days following the storm, they coordinated breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day for over 1,000 volunteers, first responders, and storm shelter residents. WCPS staff established a temporary child care area at the Jennings Creek Elementary Red Cross shelter where our educators volunteered their time to nurture 46 | Education

sheltered children and other children impacted by the tornadoes, while engaging them in activities while their parents/guardians navigated the challenges of life after the storm. Our school district’s efforts to help the community in the storm’s aftermath continue. Through the Synergy Center Tornado Relief fund established by WCPS, our district is helping our impacted families with the cost of temporary housing, furnishing homes, and providing food and supplies to help them with their daily needs. After the storm, WCPS provided the old Cumberland Trace Elementary School as a community drop-off site for needed food and supplies. Donations poured in from all across the community, state, and nation to this location, and our Family Resource Youth Services Center (FRYSC) coordinators continue to work to ensure the supplies are being distributed to impacted families across our community. WCPS understands the recovery efforts will continue for months or even years to come. We will stand by our families and the community at large as we rebuild, because we know that together we are BG Strong and simply the best!
BGISD has existed since the 1880s and has long been known for excellence in academic programs and success in athletics. The district serves approximately 4,300 students in preschool through 12th grade in eight schools: T.C. Cherry Elementary, Dishman McGinnis Elementary, Parker-Bennett-Curry Elementary, Potter Gray Elementary, and W.R. McNeill Elementary, Bowling Green Junior High, Bowling Green High School, and the Bowling Green Learning Center, the district’s alternative school.
Approximately 62% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch, 49% are minority students, and 14% of students are multilingual, with over 55 languages spoken in our schools; Spanish and Swahili as the two most common after English. All schools have been built or undergone major renovations in the last 20 years. The largest school, Bowling Green High School, is currently under construction with a completion date scheduled for August 2023. The overall project includes adding natural light to all classrooms, increased energy efficiency, improving traffic flow around the school campus, and most importantly, providing SIMPLY THE BEST learning environment for students and for future generations. Features of the school include: • The Joseph Tinius LEAD Academy for 9th-grade students • The Medical Arts Academy • Culinary Arts Lab • Band, orchestra, and choir rehearsal spaces • 750-seat performing arts center • 11-lane natatorium • Stadium with turf field and track The Bowling Green Independent School District is located in the downtown area and is approximately seven square miles. Although the City of Bowling Green is larger than the school district boundaries, BGISD does accept non-resident students, families who do not reside within the district, as tuition students. outhcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College has served the region for more than 80 years and has grown into a comprehensive community college offering more than 100 certificates, diplomas, and degrees at six campus locations. In 2021, SKYCTC was honored to be selected by the Aspen Institute as one of the nation’s top-performing community colleges based on student success measures. SKYCTC graduates are prepared to enter the workforce or transfer to a 4-year institution for a bachelor’s degree. Additionally, SKYCTC graduates are joining and staying in Kentucky’s workforce. According to the Kentucky Center for Statistics data of all Kentucky higher-education institutions, both public and private, SKYCTC ranks number one in the percentage of graduates who are still working in Kentucky three years after graduation.
SKY FLEX AND SKY FAME The demand for skilled employees is higher than ever, and SKYCTC continues to play an essential role in building a strong and competitive workforce in our region. That’s why SKYCTC changed program delivery from traditional on-campus and online classes to offer class modalities that give students the ultimate flexibility. Programs like SKY Flex, SKY Fame, and our apprenticeship models allow students to customize their program experience and move quickly through program material without sacrificing their home or work priorities. At SKYCTC, learning is extended beyond the walls of the classroom with our SKY FAME apprenticeship program. SKY FAME students go to class two days a week and work for a local manufacturer three days a week. Students earn a wage, valuable work experience, and graduate with an associate degree. SKYCTC remains dedicated to building a highly skilled workforce and to helping each student achieve their educational goals so that they can have a successful career and a better life. They are looking more closely at their future career wages and considering the impact of tuition costs and student loans. At $179 per credit hour, SKYCTC has one of the lowest tuition rates in the state. Still, college tuition is a significant financial challenge for many students. That’s why beginning the fall 2022 semester, SKYCTC will offer a new SKY Merit Scholarship and an improved DC to Finish Scholarship to incoming first-time freshman students. The scholarships are available to high school students with GPAs ranging from 2.5 to 4.0, and award amounts are from 50 | Education
$1,000 to $4,000 a year. A fulltime student can attend SKYCTC for $4,296 annually, so these scholarships can go a long way to help students graduate debt-free! The improved DC to Finish scholarship is available to students who have taken at least nine credit hours of dual credit classes with SKYCTC. These students can earn a $5,000 scholarship, which more than covers a full year of tuition! In addition, dual credit classes allow high school students to earn college credit while still in high school, saving students valuable time and money. After earning an associate degree, some SKYCTC graduates transfer
their credits to a university to complete the last two years of a four-year (bachelor) degree. However, more students realize that many good-paying jobs do not require the additional educational expense of earning a four-year degree. he Bowling Green Hot Rods are a Minor League Baseball team that competes in the High-A East League as the High-A Affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, with whom they have been affiliated since the team’s founding in 2009. The team is heading into their 13th season in Bowling Green as the 2021 High-A East Champions. The Hot Rods will play a 132-game schedule and host 66 contests at Bowling Green Ballpark over 11 home stands in 2022. In 2021, the Hot Rods won the High-A East Championship and had a record-breaking season with 85 wins. In 2018, the Hot Rods won their first Midwest League Championship. Since the 2019 season, the Hot Rods have had over 84 players make their Major League debut. In 2019, the Hot Rods celebrated their first year under the team’s current ownership of Jack Blackstock, who helped spearhead the 2.5-million-dollar renovation of the Bowling Green Ballpark. The ballpark is a 4,559 seat, multi-function complex in the heart of downtown Bowling Green.
More renovations continue for 2022 with a new clubhouse for the team and new fan features debuting within the next two years. With more than just stadium seating, the ballpark features several picnic, patio, and play areas for fans to enjoy. The Hiller Kids Zone includes Axle’s Adventureland Playground presented by Van Meter Insurance, as well as the Graves Gilbert Clinic Carousel and Splash Pad, and more. Celebrate birthdays and other special occasions on the Lawless Orthodontics Birthday Decks while enjoying the views from right field. The Coca-Cola
Deck is a private covered, open-air picnic area located on the suite level on the first base side. The Happy Hiller Corner is an open patio area with three covered gazebos, as well as brand-new food and drink rails for an elevated experience. The covered gazebos are furnished with outdoor lounge furniture located on the left field wall overlooking the Hot Rods bullpen. The Budweiser Zone is the largest picnic area in the ballpark with a three-tiered landing and is the prime location to catch your favorite player’s home run. The Yuengling Tap Room is a trendy lounge atmosphere featured on the concourse level
of the ballpark. The Performance FoodService Stadium Club is an outstanding enclosed group area with an air-conditioned lounge and reserved seating on the balcony, located on the suite level behind home plate. owling Green, Kentucky, also known by its moniker, “Vette City,” is not only home to the General Motors Bowling Green Assembly Plant where all Corvettes have been built since 1981, but also to the National Corvette Museum and NCM Motorsports Park. The National Corvette Museum opened in 1994 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with an educational tribute to America’s sports car. The interior of the 115,000-square-foot building is home to exhibits highlighting the past, present, and future of the Corvette. During the summer of 2022, the Museum will also feature a special traveling exhibition from the Indianapolis Children’s Museum titled, Hot Wheels: Race to Win, sure to excite Hot Wheels fans of any generation. In the fall, a new exhibit titled, Driven by

Design, will be located in the gallery space, showcasing the progression of Corvette design from the early days to the present, from female designers and designers of diverse backgrounds.
