We’re excited to co-present the 11th Annual GoodGiving Challenge! When we first hosted the GoodGiving Challenge in 2011, we were confident our community would show up to support the local nonprofits that work hard every day to make the Bluegrass great. And WOW did you prove us right!

Since we launched the GoodGiving Challenge 11 years ago, together we’ve raised an amazing $14 million for hundreds of local nonprofits! We hope the 2021 GoodGiving Challenge is the biggest and best yet, but we need your help!

the CHALLENGES HUDSON-ELLIS MATCH CHALLENGE The Hudson-Ellis Fund at BGCF will match funds raised by Boyle County nonprofits 50¢ per $1, beginning at 9 a.m. on November 30, until the $20,000 match pool is exhausted. Maximum match per nonprofit is $5,000, and maximum match per donor is $1,000. Boyle County nonprofits must raise at least $1,000 during the GoodGiving Challenge to earn matching grant funds.

CLARK COUNTY CHALLENGE The Clark County Challenge for Clark County nonprofits begins at 9 a.m. on November 30 and lasts until the match pool has been exhausted. Clark County Community Foundation, a geographic component fund of Blue Grass Community Foundation, will award matching grants to nonprofits situated in Clark County and raising funds for use in Clark County – $1 for $1, up to $8,500 per nonprofit.

DAILY SOCIAL MEDIA SWEEPSTAKES Each day of the Challenge, we’ll make a special post on one of our social media channels. Simply “like” and “follow” Blue Grass Community Foundation (@BGCFKY) on Facebook and Instagram and follow the directions in our daily posts to win $250 Giving Cards for your favorite nonprofits! No donation is necessary to be eligible.

HAPPY HOUR POWER HOURS During surprise Power Hours throughout the GoodGiving Challenge, donations will be matched 50¢ per $1 by BGCF, Mason Companies and Salomon & Company. Follow us on social media to find out when these Power Hours will happen and boost the impact of your giving!

WHAT WE DO: For 10 years, ACTD has provided free dance classes to students with special needs. Many dance genres are taught emphasizing motor, social and communication skills. Students also enjoy camps, workshops and performing.

WHAT WE DO: ART is a Recovery Community organization that bridges the gap between clinical treatment episode and longterm recovery. We organize recovery-focused education and outreach and provide peer-based recovery support services.

WHY WE’RE GREAT: Beyond providing classes, costumes and shoes for free, what makes ACTD special is at our core we are family.

Our selfless and dedicated volunteers’ love for our students radiate, forming lasting bonds among everyone.

The true value can be felt when you enter the door to our classes. The progress and commitment of our students embodies the worth of ACTD!

WHY WE’RE GREAT: Being in recovery themselves, staff and volunteers at ART are uniquely qualified to serve as role models and mentors. Our contemporary dance company presents exciting performance events each season featuring original live music and circus arts.

WHY WE’RE GREAT: Last season we shared the joys and benefits of dance with over 700 children with specific needs! We use live interactive music and encourage agility, coordination and creative expression. We also provided free virtual field trips for over 1,100 Kentucky students and will use our new work “Shooting Glances” to help address gun violence in our community.

We preserve these melodies through concerts, lectures and masterclasses in-person and virtually to audiences worldwide.

WHY WE’RE GREAT: We are the only group of this kind in the U.S. preserving American Negro Spirituals. We share the stories of these great melodies and the history of our country through performances of these songs. With over 6,000 Negro Spirituals that have influenced American music forms like jazz, gospel, and blues, ASE has a broad range of stories to tell.

American Red Cross Bluegrass Lexington, KY redcross.org/kentucky Annual Budget: $10,667,096 WHAT WE DO: The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.​ WHY WE’RE GREAT: We are always there in times of need. We turn compassion into action so people affected by disaster receive care. Our communities are prepared for disasters and all members of our armed services and their families find support whenever needed. In an emergency, there are always trained individuals nearby, ready to use their Red Cross skills to save lives.

Annual Budget: $4,486,103 WHAT WE DO: We provide free legal services to the low-income and vulnerable in eastern and south central Kentucky. We focus on legal problems that affect our clients’ basic needs for food, shelter and safety from all forms of abuse.

WHY WE’RE GREAT: Everyone deserves access to justice when their income, health, family, or safety is on the line. Our experts in housing law, consumer law, family law, domestic violence and public benefits give clients a fair shot in court. We are committed to making a difference and ending the effects of poverty in the lives of our clients and our region.

WHAT WE DO: We provide shelter for children, from birth to age 17.

Arbor Youth provides a safe and supportive environment to children who have suffered abuse or abandonment, or are at risk of victimization.

WHAT WE DO: The Art Center of the Bluegrass connects people to art, culture and creativity. Our free exhibits and community art programs help overcome the financial barriers that prevent people from accessing the arts.

WHY WE’RE GREAT: Our vision: A community where every child and youth has a stable home. We do that through various services, including our emergency shelter, outreach center for 18- to 24-year-olds, supportive housing programs and working with Project Safe Place. We end the cycle of homelessness before it begins.

WHY WE’RE GREAT: The Art Center of the Bluegrass is the creative hub of the southern Bluegrass Region. Our exhibits, classes and special events bring year-round arts programming to the residents of Boyle and surrounding counties. Our downtown location in a restored federal building places us squarely at the heart of our community.

Arts Commission of Danville/Boyle County Danville, KY danvillearts.org Annual Budget: $497,200 WHAT WE DO: We bring art and art opportunities to all areas of the county, letting art tell stories that inspire and challenge all ages to create, appreciate and thrive!

WHY WE’RE GREAT: We serve our community in many ways by partnering with organizations to create programs that help them carry out their missions and enhance their own programming. Our primary activities are provided free of charge and are open to artists of all ages and abilities.

AVOL Kentucky Lexington, KY avolky.org Annual Budget: $1,750,000 WHAT WE DO: AVOL Kentucky’s mission is to partner with communities to end HIV through an array of prevention services, including HIV testing for persons at risk, and housing, emergency and support services for persons living with HIV. WHY WE’RE GREAT: Our goal is no new HIV infections and viral suppression for persons living with HIV. For more than 30 years, AVOL has been on the front lines of the fight to end HIV in central and eastern Kentucky.

WHAT WE DO: We provide free, quality preventative & primary health care to the uninsured children of central Kentucky. We support families by providing physicals, sick visits and vaccinations. We also support mental well-being and dental health.

WHAT WE DO: Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) Danville Campus offers courses in practical nursing, welding, industrial maintenance technology, computerized manufacturing and machining, general education and workforce training.

WHY WE’RE GREAT: This year has been challenging for all! For us, that meant we could not run our clinic as normal. However, we were still able to see 528 patients, with 86 of them being brand new! We conducted 194 well-child exams, gave 175 immunizations and delivered medication to 266 patients.

It’s been our honor to care for children for over a century!

WHY WE’RE GREAT: BCTC Danville transforms one student, one employer and one community at a time! We support student access, success and completion of educational goals with comprehensive services, high-quality-career and technical education for workforce skills, transfer to baccalaureate degrees and life-skills development.

BCTC Georgetown-Scott County Campus Georgetown, KY bluegrass.kctcs.edu Annual Budget: $481,657 WHAT WE DO: We provide academic and technical coursework, workforce training and GED programs. Students take dual credit classes and complete certificates, diplomas and associate degrees to prepare for well-paying careers or college transfer.

WHY WE’RE GREAT: As part of BCTC, the Georgetown-Scott County Campus helps to transform our region one student, one employer and one community at a time. We offer advanced manufacturing certificate, diploma and degree programs; general education classes; and dual credit classes that give high school students a head start on college or career.
