We’re excited to co-present the 14th Annual GoodGiving Challenge! When we first hosted the GoodGiving Challenge in 2011, we were confident our community would show up to support the local nonprofits that work hard every day to make the Bluegrass great. And WOW did you prove us right!
Since we launched the GoodGiving Challenge 14 years ago, together we’ve raised nearly $23 million for hundreds of local nonprofits! We hope the 2024 GoodGiving Challenge is the biggest and best yet, but we need your help!
The fun starts at 9 a.m. on Giving Tuesday, December 3, at BGgives. org. Until then, read about the 200
local nonprofits and the daily match challenges, and make plans to give from Giving Tuesday through Friday, December 6!

Give early! The James A. and Martha R. Brown Charitable Foundation is providing a $50,000 match pool that will match donations 50¢ per $1, on gifts up to $250 (maximum match $125 per gift). This match pool starts at

The Murry Foundation is providing a $100,000 challenge pool for the opening day of the GoodGiving Challenge! Every nonprofit receiving gifts that day will get a percentage of this challenge pool based on the total amount raised and what each nonprofit brings in. For example, if $500,000 is raised and Nonprofit A raises $10,000, it’ll receive 2% of the challenge pool ($2,000). Actual awards will depend on the total raised and the nonprofit’s share of the day’s donations.

Clark County $264,000 Match
The Clark County Challenge for Clark County nonprofits begins at 9 a.m. on December 3 and lasts until the match pool has been exhausted. Clark County Community Foundation, a geographic component fund of Blue Grass Community Foundation, will award matching grants to nonprofits situated in Clark County and raising funds for use in Clark County – $1 per $1, up to $8,000 per nonprofit.
Daily Social Media Sweepstakes
Each day of the Challenge, we’ll make a special post on one of our social media channels. Simply “like” Blue Grass Community Foundation (@BGCFKY) on Facebook and Instagram and follow the directions in our daily posts to win a $250 prize for your favorite nonprofit! No donation is necessary to be eligible.
Happy Hour $3,000 Power Hours
From 4 – 6 p.m. each day of the GoodGiving Challenge, Mason Investments will match the first $2,500 in donations, 50¢ per $1, on gifts up to $100. Every day during this time frame, Blue Grass Community Foundation will randomly select a donation to receive a $500 prize!

The five nonprofits in the Human Services category with the highest number of unique donors from the start of the Challenge through Thursday at 11:59 p.m. will be entered into a drawing for a $2,000 prize! The prize winner will be announced on Facebook and Instagram Live on Friday, Dec. 6 at noon!
