Director’s Note Dear Audience Member, I am so excited for tonight’s production of The School of Rock. The road to tonight was a long one, and it started in 2016 when I took the music students to New York and we saw The School of Rock on Broadway for the first time. All of us fell in love with the show that night. We took this picture outside the Winter Garden Theater and I remember thinking what an incredible experience it would be to direct this show someday with these kids. But could we ever do it?? We’d need students who could really play instruments, and we’d need tons of technical equipment that we didn’t have! Yes, we all loved the show but would it ever be possible?

Well in just two short years we made it possible! We have just the perfect student ensemble to put this show on and not many high schools could say that! The roles of Dewey Finn, Zoey, Katie, Lawrence and Freddie are required to play instruments on stage. I’m so thankful to Sean McGrath, Elizabeth Donahue, Tessa Tropeano, Conor Hinchey, and Aidan Linehan who worked tirelessly to play all of the songs on stage, in character and memorized. It’s truly something amazing to see!

So why do we all love School of Rock so much? Is it the energy and enthusiasm? Or is it the fun loving and heartfelt but often misunderstood lead character Dewey Finn? Is it the kids and the fact that they are playing their instruments live on stage? Is it the amazing score written by Andrew Lloyd Webber?

I suppose it could be all of these reasons to some extent. But for me, this musical speaks of why I became a music teacher in the first place and why I continue to teach and direct and conduct after almost 20 years of doing this! It’s because music and theater is a place of belonging for so many people. By the end of the show, each kid feels like they have a voice, they feel like they have friends, they feel like they have someone who cares about them, and as Lawrence says, they feel “cool for the first time.” Dewey Finn was able to give that experience to his students, and that’s exactly what I strive to do in every class I teach and every show I direct. These musical kids have a home here with me. And if I ever forget that, The School of Rock is a nice reminder.

The home that we’ve found ourselves in here at Fenwick is a special home, one that I’m very proud to be a part of. Every student who walks through these halls is cared for and prayed for; every teacher and staff member who works here is a part of a community that truly supports and encourages each other. I could not do what I do here without the support of countless people. So I’d like to thank my Fenwick Theatre Family, my production staff: Jodi, Chris, Kevin, Greg, and Laura; My student staff: Simone and Julia; my own family: Danny, Tom, Tessa, and Elly and my extended Fenwick family which includes all of you! Thank you for supporting our program and attending our shows! I truly hope you love the show the way we did when we saw it for the first time and that you too find a home here with us!

Meet the Cast!

Lily Baraty '19 Lily Baraty is a junior at Fenwick from Stoneham, MA. She is very excited to get her first leading role in a show. She is playing the role of Summer Hathaway in this musical. She has also performed in The Pajama Game and Bugsy Malone in the Stoneham Theater. She hopes you all enjoy the show!

Lily Brown '21 Lily Brown is a freshman appearing in her second production at Bishop Fenwick. Lily is thrilled to be a part of the theatre program because she loves performing and being on the stage. She also enjoys reading, singing, writing, and playing sports in her free time.

Ts Burnham '18 This is Ts’ final production with the Bishop Fenwick Drama Club. Ts is a senior and will be pursuing Musical Theatre in college. Previous roles include: “Babe” in The Pajama Game, Core Cast in “44 Plays For 44 Presidents,” Wendy-Jo in “Footloose,” Snoopy in “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” Freddie Filmore in “It’s A Wonderful Life” and Alice in “Into The Woods”. This past Fall, she was the Student Director of Lockdown and had an incredible experience! Other favorite past roles include playing “Babette” in “Beauty and the Beast”, Patsy in “Crazy For You,” Violet Beauregard in “Willy Wonka,” Ursula in “Little Mermaid “and Carmen in “Fame”. Additional acting credits include Gloucester Stage Company, Professional Season “Most Happy Fella” (2011) and “Carnival” (2012). Ts would like to thank Dr. T., Ms. Vigneron, the Cast and Crew for an incredible 8 shows and an unforgettable 4 years at Bishop Fenwick. Ts hopes you enjoy the show as much as she has enjoyed working in it!

Meghan Cabral '21 Meghan Cabral is a freshman at Fenwick from Stoneham, MA. She will be playing the role of Tomika, the shy and quiet girl. Meghan also likes to sing and play board games. School of Rock is Meghan’s first show with Fenwick. Meghan is also in Fenwick’s Concert Choir and the Select Choir. She’s not a backup singer, she’s a SINGER. Meghan is happy to be in this show and is excited for all of you to see it.

Julianna Camozzi '21 Julianna is a freshman at Bishop Fenwick. She has been a part of drama for 6 years and this is her second production at Fenwick. During her time at Fenwick she has joined the fall play, baked cupcakes for the upcoming freshmen class, and hopes to be on the tennis team in the spring. She is the shortest person in the musical and loves Fergie.

Fergie’s rendition of the National Anthem will go down in history.

Thank her for that snow day that one time. She is excited to continue at Fenwick and get more roles where she can channel her inspiration, Fergie, and grow.

Mitchell Collins '19 Mitchell Collins is eager to make his Fenwick drama debut in in School of Rock as Mr. Mooneyham. A Fenwick junior hailing from Melrose, his last stage performance was in 2013 as the pirate Noodler in a local performance of Peter Pan. Harboring a passionate love of music, Mitchell takes guitar lessons and has learned a range of rock classics from Pink Floyd to the Clash on his Les Paul Special II. Although he’s excited to be a horribly negligent parent to Zoey Moonyeham, Mitchell also looks forward to portraying Doug from “No Vacancy”. Enjoy the show!

Hannah Cormier '20 Hannah is a sophomore at Bishop Fenwick. In the school production of ‘School of Rock’, Hannah plays a teacher, Mrs. Macapugay. Mrs. Macapugay is a Spanish teacher at Horace Green. Last year, in her first year at Fenwick, Hannah played one of the factory girls (Nancy), in the school production of ‘The Pajama Game’. On the other hand, Hannah dances at Stand Up 8 Dance Studio. Hannah has been dancing for 15 years. Hannah dances hip hop, jazz, tap, ballet, and she does acrobatics. In her free time, Hannah likes to read, draw and relax by watching tv or sleeping. Hannah hopes that you enjoy Bishop Fenwick’s rendition of ‘School of Rock’!

Bronwyn Cullen '19 Bronwyn Cullen is a junior at Bishop Fenwick. This is her sixth show with the program, her latest being “Lockdown” and “Bedtime Stories” from last Fall’s Three Plays. She is stoked to be doing such a fun, entertaining, and enjoyable show this year with School of Rock, especially because she gets to do it with her best friends. In her spare time (which she has a lot of) Bronwyn can be seen working at J.P Licks, an ice cream establishment with a wide variety of flavors. She also enjoys marathoning and having long discussions about Avatar: The Last Airbender with her friends Jane and Liz (also featured in School of Rock).

She promises that the show will make you laugh hysterically, and that it’s catchy songs will be stuck in your head for days. Rock On!

Elise Cunniff '20 It’s everyday bro with that Fenwick Drama flow…. This is Elise’s fourth Fenwick show! She would like to point out how crazy it is that her character in this past fall play was named Horace the Dinosaur, who was a green dino, and the name of the school in this musical is Horace Green. What are the odds? Free time for Elise is usually filled with wearing her helmet, wheezing when she sees a spicy meme, studying for AP Euro tests, and competitive ice dancing with her favorite partner (you know who you are.) In case you were wondering what Elise looks like, she is featured on the back of the program participating in one of her favorite hobbies, playing her trumpet for the Fenwick Band. She would like to give a personal shoutout to Emily Yuu, Jimmy Buffett, and most importantly Mrs. Vigneron, a true hero.

Although Mrs. Vigneron’s work is mostly behind-the-scenes, it should not go unnoticed, along with the hard work of the stage and tech crews, musicians, director, and the hair and makeup team. Their effort and dedication is what allows these shows to run so smoothly. Elise’s one goal for School of Rock is to get Guy Fieri to come, so if you see him, “pull the alarm”...

Erica Dellisola '21 This is Erica’s first musical at Fenwick. She has been doing theatre for four years. She did the play in the fall and loved it. In her free time you will 100% find her watching Netflix or eating. She is very excited to be doing the musical this year and cant wait to do it again next year.

Elizabeth Donahue '19 Elizabeth is a junior at Bishop Fenwick, and this is her 5th production here. She has enjoyed being in this show and is thankful for the opportunity to play the guitar on stage with her friends. Outside of theater and guitar, Elizabeth plays piano and ukulele, and is in a local band with some of her friends. She'd like to thank Dr. T, Ezra, and Julia for helping this show to be as great as it is, and she hopes everyone enjoys the show!

Luci Dugan '20 Luci Dugan is a sophomore at Fenwick and this is her fourth show at Fenwick. She was in 44 Plays for 44 Presidents, The Pajama Game, and Lockdown. In this show she plays Sophie, who is part of the student ensemble. Luci is also part of the Fenwick Concert Choir, and Select Choir. She is very excited for everyone to see the show and hopes you all enjoy it!

Marguerite Dunn '20 Maggie Dunn in a sophomore at Fenwick from Lynn, MA and this is her fourth show at Fenwick. Her role in this production is Mrs. Travis, Katie’s mom, but she has been on stage her whole life. Among her favorite previous roles include: Joyce Johnson (Invasion), Core Cast Member (44 Plays for 44 Presidents), Scrooge (A Christmas Carol), Captain Bree (The Lady Pirates of Captain Bree) Howie (Zombie Night), and Frank Stein (Villian School.) Maggie also loves to sing, make YouTube videos, and play with her dog, Cody. Enjoy the show!

Jane Fantozzi '19 Jane is a Junior at Fenwick, and this is her fifth production in the Drama department. She has greatly enjoyed performing with her friends on stage. Off stage, Jane participates in Student Council and art, and enjoys hanging out with her friends. Jane would like to thank Dr.T, Ezra, Julia, and Mr. Berube for making this show not only fun, but also really awesome.

Robert Farren '21 Bobby is a freshman from Stoneham. A member of the football, basketball and track teams, this is his first time on stage and first time behind a set of drums! Thank you to Br. Tom and Mrs, Vigneron for “suggesting” he be in the show and he hopes everyone is ready to rock!

Francesca Foti '19 Francesca Foti is a Junior at Bishop Fenwick High School and has been acting since she was three. She has been in Fenwick productions every year since her freshman year. Some of the plays she has done at Fenwick are A Charlie Brown Christmas (Violet), Footloose (cop), and The Invasion of Earth as it began in Grover’s Mill, New Jersey (Billy). Francesca has also been in Productions at Boston Childrens Theatre including A Charlie Brown Christmas (Peppermint Patty), and Thoroughly Modern Millie (Miss Meers). She is also in Boston Childrens Theatre Senior Choir and the Concert Choir at Fenwick.

She would like to thank her family, friends, and teachers who have always encouraged her to be the best she can be.

Thomas Genzale, Jr. '21 TJ Genzale is a freshman at Fenwick from Danvers, MA. This is his first performance with Fenwick Drama. Previously at St. Johns in Peabody he appeared in the ensemble of The Wizard of Oz, A Hyena in The Lion King, and A VonTrapp Child in The Sound of Music. He performs in both Men’s Choir and Fenwick’s Concert Choir. He is playing Mason in this year’s performance, and is excited for everyone to see the musical.

Grace Goodell '19 Grace is a junior at Fenwick and this is her fifth production here. In her free time, Grace enjoys napping and running her middle school's drama club. She is very excited to be a part of the School of Rock cast and hopes you all enjoy the show!

Brianna Harding '21 Brianna Harding is a freshman at Fenwick and is very excited to do her first musical at Fenwick. Brianna has done three musicals at her old school but never one at Fenwick. She participated in the school play that Fenwick produced this year and is very happy to be able to continue her drama experience at Fenwick.

Abigail Hildebrand '21 Abigail Hildebrand is a freshman at Fenwick and loves acting. She has been in 8 plays and musicals, and she continues to love it every day.

Abby is also a swimmer, and a good student here at Fenwick. “ The whole reason why I love this school is because how supportive the community is, including the drama club,” Abby says. She is so excited to continue to do all of these activities in her next three years at Fenwick.

Conor Hinchey '18 Conor Hinchey is a senior from Salem, MA, and this is his first production performing with Fenwick. Aside from drama, he is on the swim team and the soccer team. He plans on majoring in engineering when he leaves Fenwick after graduation. He is playing the part of Lawrence, and has played the piano for the past six years. He was a Who/ fish in Seussical the Musical for Saint Mary’s in Danvers, and is excited to perform in his last year here at Fenwick.

Shayla Jamieson '18 Shayla Jamieson is a senior from Gloucester at Bishop Fenwick. This is Shayla’s ninth show at Fenwick and she could not be more excited to share the stage with this extraordinary group cast as Rosalie Mullins in this production, she also appeared as Mabel in The Pajama Game last spring. She has also performed in shows with St. John the Baptist School, and Boston Children’s Theatre. She would like to thank the cast and Dr. Tropeano for this unforgettable experience!

Hannah Jinks '19 Hannah Jinks is a junior at Fenwick from Salem, MA. She is very excited to be participating in this show. She is playing the role of Ms. Gordon who is a teacher working at her alma mater, Horace Green. She has also appeared in Footloose and The Pajama Game at Fenwick. She hopes that you all enjoy this incredibly hilarious and heartwarming show. Never forget to stick it to the man!

Natalia Kanj '19 Natalia Kanj is a junior at Fenwick from Peabody, and School of Rock will be her fourth show at Fenwick. She has been a featured dancer in Footloose, The Pajama Game, and has also played Thomas Jefferson in 44 Plays for 44 Presidents. In this production, she plays Brooke, one of the students. Besides being part of theatre, Natalia spends her time studying hard and enjoys traveling, art, and getting involved in other activities at Fenwick in her spare time. She hopes you enjoy the show and hopes to see you there!

Hannah Kubat '20 Hannah is a sophomore at Bishop Fenwick. She is involved in the drama program and School of Rock is her second Fenwick production.

Outside of theater, Hannah is a member of the select choir. She enjoys playing volleyball and is on the Fenwick swim team. When Hannah isn't at rehearsal or practice, you can find her at home, cuddling with her dogs. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Aidan Linehan '20 Aidan Linehan is a sophomore from Peabody, MA, and this is his third performance with Fenwick Drama. He performed in 44 Plays for 44 Presidents as former US president James Garfield, and Morris Calvin in The Invasion of Earth as it Began in Grover's Mill, New Jersey. He sings in the Fenwick Concert Choir and the Fenwick Men’s Choir. He is playing the role of Freddie in this year’s musical and has played the drums for the past thirteen years. Aidan is very excited to be a part of School of Rock, and hopes to continue performing in Fenwick theatre in the future.

Leah Malala '21 Leah Malala is a freshman at Bishop Fenwick and this is her first show with the drama department. She has been acting for about 4 years, and was very excited to start her new drama experience at Fenwick. In the fall Leah played field hockey and enjoyed it very much. She would like to thank her parents for giving birth to her. She enjoys yodeling and Irish step dancing. Leah comes from the Island Honolulu and loves to surf. Keep it cool kids.

Sean McGrath '18 Since his humble beginnings as the steward from Into the Woods, senior Sean McGrath’s theater career has been deliciously inclining over the past four years. This year, he will be playing the role of Dewey Finn, a complete failure, parallel with his own future. (Just kidding Mom hahaha!) He hopes that you enjoy the show, now sit back and enjoy the magic of Rock.

Deirdre McKenna '21 Deirdre is very excited to be a part of her first theatrical performance at Bishop Fenwick. Previous to Fenwick, she has played many other roles in various musicals, including Jafar in Aladdin Jr. and Scar in Lion King Jr. Deirdre is a very active freshman, who lives in Peabody with her parents and her sister, Katrina. Deirdre's extracurricular activities include competitive Irish Step dancing, Math Team, and playing on the freshman volleyball team and on the freshman basketball team.

Colleen McLaughlin '19 Colleen is a junior at Fenwick. She is a tracklete and her best friend in the entire universe, Mary Kate, who wrote this for her, says she's the fastest sprinter this world has yet to see. Usain has nothing on her.

She enjoys long walks on the beach, sliding into direct messages, and listening to Toto's Africa. This is her third production at Fenwick and she is very excited to be involved!

Brendan Mirra '19 And with a big burst of glitter (sorry Julia) , Brendan Mirra returns to the Fenwick stage, starring as Billy in Billy the Musical, more commonly known as School of Rock. In the Fall he directed the one act comedy, Bedtime Stories, which he credits as his single greatest accomplishment. Other times he has graced the stage include moping about as Charlie Brown in Charlie Brown Christmas and running the Oval Office as some forgettable president in 44 Plays for 44 Presidents. Beyond making a fool of himself on stage, Brendan can be found running around in circles and through wood paths on Fenwicks cross country and track teams, and constantly quoting vines in Spanish class. His greatest influences in life include his own mother and Beyoncé, obviously. He’s glad you all came to see the show and hopes you ROLL out with a little more ROCK in your hearts. Peace!

Ryan O'Connor '21 Ryan O’Connor is a Freshman at Bishop Fenwick, this is his second performance at Fenwick and will be playing Ned Schneebly in School of Rock. Earlier this year Ryan played the roles of Mark and John Johnson is the Fall Student Directed Plays. Ryan has been seen in multiple performances at Melrose Middle and High School and other theatre groups such as Greater Boston Stage Company. Some of his favorite roles were Buddy the Elf in Elf the Musical and Septa in A Tale of Sleeping Beauty. He has recently won a METG award for his role in A Tale of Sleeping Beauty. When not in shows Ryan is part of the Fenwick Swim Team where he does the occasional doggy paddle and the Spring Track Team. Ryan would like to thank his parent and other family members along with his directors! Hope you enjoy the show!

Emily O'Connor '21 Emily O'Connor is a freshmen at Bishop Fenwick, and this is her first time being involved in this drama department. She likes to sing, act, and spend time with her dog in her free time. She's very excited to be a part of this production.

Alexa Potter '19 Alexa Potter is a junior at Fenwick and this is her first role in a musical.

She has truly found her calling in musical theater from this experience.

She enjoys throwing the shot put, being a XC god, and dancing. She is hyped for the performance and is ready for more plays and musicals at Fenwick.

Daniel Richard '21 Danny is a freshman and actually IS in the band here at Fenwick!, A member of the football, basketball and track teams, he has been playing the guitar most of his life. Like Bobby, he would like to thank Br. Tom and Mrs. Vigneron for “suggesting” he be in the show and he hopes everyone is ready to rock!

Alicia Ridgley '19 This is Alicia's third musical and third show at Fenwick. This year, she has her first acting role as a school teacher. She was previously a featured dancer in Footloose and The Pajama Game. She has been dancing for 13 years with 11 years of competition dancing. Growing up loving theater and music, Alicia has been very excited to be a part of some amazing casts here at Fenwick. In her free time, Alicia loves to spend time with friends and family.

Jonathan Rutkowski '21 Jonathan Rutkowski is a freshman at Bishop Fenwick. This is his first Fenwick theatre production. In this production he is Mr. Noble, one of the teachers. But it is not his first ever musical. He has been a part of Neverland Theatre Company since 2016. There he was a part of eight of their productions from Wizard of Oz to Aladdin Kids. He was also a part of St. John the Baptists theatre company as well. He was in three productions there. He was a part of Wizard of Oz, Lion King Jr. and Sound of Music. He really hopes you enjoy the show and has a great time watching School of Rock.

Leanne Santerre '19 Leanne Santerre is a Junior at Bishop Fenwick High School. She is playing Mrs. Sheinkopf in this production of School of Rock and she couldn’t be happier to do so. This is her fifth production at Fenwick, though she has done theater previous to high school. Of all the shows she has been in this is one of the most fun ones to put on and she really hopes you enjoy it. She would like to thank her parents for putting up with all the late night drives to school, her cast for being so amazing, talented, and supportive, and Dr. Tropeano for always putting on such amazing shows.

Tanner Tattan '20 Tanner is a Sophomore at Fenwick and this is his 7th play. Last year he played Jimmy in The Pajama Game as well as four presidents in 44 Plays for 44 Presidents. He has enjoyed participating in the drama program here at Fenwick and work such an incredible and talented cast. He hopes you enjoy this year’s production -School of Rock!

Elizabeth Tauro '19 Liz has been performing since she was 6 years old. She has been in over 30 productions throughout her life. Her favorites include being Fiona in Shrek the Musical, Grace Farrell from Annie, and Ursula in The Little Mermaid. This is her third year at Fenwick and she has enjoyed doing the plays and musicals. As a freshmen she was given the role of Sally in Charlie Brown and was ensemble in Footloose.

As a sophomore, she was given a lead singer in 44 plays for 44 presidents and is very excited to be the role of Bonnie in The Pajama Game. As a junior she has been given the role of Marcy in School of Rock.

Simone Testa '18 Simone (Ezra) Testa is a senior from Lynn and is the Assistant Director for School of Rock. They have been a part of seven Fenwick Theater productions since their freshman year. After performing for the first time at Fenwick in one of this year’s winter plays Lockdown, they return off stage to help behind the scenes. Their Fenwick theater journey has consisted of carefully moving Rapunzel’s tower, helping to create the danceless town of Bomont, and figuring out what the Pajama Game was actually about; they couldn’t be happier to finish their experience than by helping Dewey Finn and his students. Ezra wants to thank Dr. Tropeano for the amazing years they have spent involved in Fenwick Theater, and their friends for being the best performers on any stage. Show them what rebellion means!

Tessa Tropeano '20 Tessa is a sophomore from Wakefield and this is her fourth production here. She is thrilled to be playing Katie. She learned the bass just for this role and now all she wants is a bass of her own for her birthday! Tessa loves singing and dancing in musicals and some of her favorite roles have been Rafiki in The Lion King and the wicked witch in The Wizard of Oz. Next month she will be appearing as Ursula in Entracte Theater Company’s production of The Little Mermaid. Tessa is so grateful to be at Fenwick and to be working with such talented singers and actors, and now bandmates. She loved rocking it this season on the bass and she hopes you all in the audience will rock right along with her. Enjoy the show!

Thomas Tropeano '19 This is Tom’s sixth production with Fenwick Theatre. He was last seen on this stage in “The Invasion of Earth as it Happened in Grover’s Mill” and “Bedtime Stories (as told by our Dad who messed them up)”. He also appeared as Hasler in The Pajama Game, a member of the core cast in 44 Plays for 44 Presidents and in the ensemble of Footloose and A Charlie Brown Christmas. Outside of Fenwick Theatre, Tom performs with St. Agnes Summer Musicals, where he played the title role of Barnum in Barnum. Next month he will play Chef Louis in Entracte Theater Company’s production of The Little Mermaid. He’d like to thank everyone who helped out with this production! Congrats to Sean for rocking out as Dewey Finn and all his friends who are making this show so awesome! And of course also thanks to Julia for making sure the teacher’s room always has snacks!

Sean Walsh '19 Sean Walsh is a junior at Bishop Fenwick High School he is from Lynn. He has been acting since freshman year. He has done tech for all the plays and has been in all the musicals. Sean plays varsity basketball, soccer, and does spring track. He plays in the Fenwick band.

MaryKate Williams '19 MaryKate is a junior at Fenwick. This is her first show at Fenwick. She enjoys swimming, waterpolo, memes, and hanging out with her fellow emo girls. She is very excited to be a part of the Fenwick Drama Club!

Olivia Williams '19 Olivia Williams is currently a junior at BFHS. She is known to enjoy the fine arts, especially theatrical performances, and music. This is Olivia’s first show, and she hopes that you enjoy it as much as she does!

Madison Woods '19 Madison Woods enjoyed performing in her first musical last year, The Pajama Game. Outside of the musical, she plays soccer, lacrosse and is part of the Winter Track team. She wants to thank all of her friends and family for supporting her in doing the musical for the past two years, and is excited for all of you to see the show!

Jenna Zampitella '18 Jenna Zampitella is a senior from Peabody, MA. This is Jenna’s second show at Fenwick and she is thrilled to be playing Ms. Sanders in School of Rock. Jenna has also done several shows with Acting Out, including Footloose, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid.

After graduation, Jenna plans to go to school in the city to study finance. Rock On!
