A Message from the Board of Trustees On behalf of the Fenwick Board of Trustees, we extend heartfelt gratitude to everyone celebrated in this Report of Giving. With your enthusiastic support, the Fenwick Family once again reached new heights! We are pleased to share with you that for the second time in our School’s history, we exceeded the $1M mark in total fundraising! Through robust annual giving, along with critical investment in capital projects, Fenwick generated over $1.2M in philanthropic support, an increase of 20% over last year’s record-breaking number! This fundraising milestone is powerful testimony to the upward trajectory of Bishop Fenwick and to the positive vibe of our entire community. Most impressive was our collective support on our second Fenwick Day of Giving. On April 27, 2023, we set out to reach an ambitious goal of 500 gifts. Fueled by the All Crusaders’ Challenge, led by Stanton Dodge ‘86, Fenwick was poised to excel – and excel we did. With superlative efforts by our Board, our Parents’ Council, and our Alumni Board, which inspired so many alumni, friends, and current and past parents to join the effort, Fenwick made history – we received 535 gifts! Special thanks to our Institutional Advancement Team for coordinating this remarkable undertaking. The results of Giving Day, along with all the successes we enjoyed in FY’23, speak volumes about our strong connections to Fenwick and about the life-long relationships we have developed through Fenwick. The momentum of Day of Giving was evident throughout the year, as evidenced by the following data: Total Philanthropic Dollars to Fenwick in FY’23 increased by 20% The Number of Alumni Donors in FY’23 increased by 15% The Number of Parent Donors in FY’23 increased by 15% Your generosity makes a difference for Fenwick. It provides the tangibles: financial aid for deserving students, improved compensation for exemplary teachers, a deep and broad academic curriculum, an array of offerings in the arts and athletics, and the necessary investments in our 60-acre campus. It also nourishes the intangibles that are at the heart of Fenwick—our community spirit, our feeling of family, and our genuine sense of belonging. Because of your support, we continue to advance our mission, to strengthen our school, and to transform the lives of a new generation of Crusaders. Your loyalty to Fenwick inspires others to support our School. The Catholic Schools Foundation, the Flatley Foundation, and many others have chosen to make a significant investment in Fenwick. They recognize the efficacy of our mission, the impact of the Fenwick experience, and the commitment of our team. Your faithful stewardship ripples out in myriad ways; indeed, it is impossible to overstate the importance of your participation. Again, thank you. Fenwick is a vibrant, dynamic, resilient, and faith-filled community. The educational experience offered at Fenwick—an experience that is holistic, balanced, student-centered, and morally grounded—has never been more necessary. We thank our dedicated administration and staff, and most importantly, our extraordinary teachers, for all they do to make this possible. You are a member of this team, for you are helping Fenwick to be a beacon of light and a source of hope. We invite our fellow alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends to join us in moving Fenwick forward. We are all stakeholders in Fenwick’s future, and we have a shared responsibility in Fenwick’s success. Together, we can ensure that a Fenwick education remains accessible for all current and future students. Finally, we thank our fellow trustees for sharing so selflessly their time, expertise, and resources. With gratitude, Neil Harrington P ’05, ’06, ‘11 President, Fenwick Board of Trustees

A Message from the President Dear Alumni, Current Parents, Past Parents, and Friends, It is with gratitude and gladness that we share this Annual Report with you! Together, we have done extraordinary things for Fenwick. On behalf of our entire Fenwick Family, we express our deep and profound appreciation to each of you for helping us to achieve unparalleled success. We had another record-breaking year, with over $1.2M in philanthropic support, which is a 20% increase over last year’s record-setting total! Thank you! The 2022-23 academic year was a remarkable one for Bishop Fenwick: Our theatre program advanced to the second round of the state-wide Dramafest competition, and their production of Willy Wonka was spectacular; the Choir performed at Walt Disney World Our athletic program had numerous individuals and teams compete in the State Tourney, with Football and Softball making it to the final four, and Girls’ Basketball playing in the finals We launched a Mock Trial Team, our Kindness Club was honored by State Senator Joan Lovely, and our DECA Team, in only its second year, had many students compete at the national conference We created a state-of-the-art STEAM Lab, complete with a laser-cutter, 3-D printers, display and storage units, and new lab tables and stools, providing our young engineers with an array of tools We purchased new chairs for the Café – that reflect the School’s colors (no more green) – and we installed new flooring on the lower floor of the Administration Building The 2022-23 school year was highlighted by exceptionally strong engagement – from our students, from our parents, and from our alumni. Through our Fenwick Connect speaking program, legions of students shared their stories, lessons, insights, and experiences with their fellow Crusaders each morning – with many of them being asked to give their speeches at special events! We were also fortunate to have many Fenwick alumni share their life stories and professional experiences at our all-school Fenwick Connect as part of our Alum-of-the-Month speaker series. Our seniors led the way for us. In the graduating Class of 2023, 92% were involved in at least one club or sport – and nearly half of them plan to major in a science, technology, engineering, or health-related field. From Fall Fest to the Christmas Party, from our Faith in Fenwick Auction to the Golf Tournament, we saw record numbers of alumni and current/past parents connect with Fenwick. Last year, we also hosted 8 Class Reunions on campus, and Fenwick Giving Day exceeded all expectations with 535 gifts! As you know, this past year, our community also mourned the tragic passing of Emily Shann ’26. In true Fenwick fashion, we came together amidst our sadness and sorrow, united by faith and prayer, to support the family and to comfort one another. It was a moment of unspeakable grief – and of quiet grace. As we felt then, as we saw at Commencement, and as we experience during so many of life’s pivotal moments, the Fenwick Family is real. The bonds of our Fenwick Family traverse the miles and transcend the years, and thankfully, those bonds are sources of strength in both tragedy and triumph.

A message from the President, continued
Thank you for your faithful, selfless commitment to our sacred mission of providing a dynamic, holistic, studentcentered, and faith-filled experience for the next generation of Crusaders. Thank you for supporting of our people—the heart of Fenwick—by funding student scholarships and enhancing teacher salaries. Thank you for investing in our program by making possible everything from Campus Ministry and Student Activities Council to athletic competition and fine arts performances. Thank you, most importantly, for your witness of stewardship and leadership. By building our culture of philanthropy, you set an example that inspires all of us in the Fenwick Family. As donors, benefactors, and volunteers, you understood that Fenwick needed you. Together, your response reflects the pride of Fenwick’s history and the promise of Fenwick’s future. Each gift helps ensure that Fenwick is where young people continue to arrive, strive, and thrive. Finally, I share with you the voices of our Class of 2023 Commencement Speakers: I would like to recognize the hard work and dedication of the class of 2023. When the pandemic struck in the concluding months of our freshman year, we began to realize our time inside of Fenwick was being taken away. Although challenging, this situation did not bring our class down. Throughout the long days of classes on Zoom, our class adapted and overcame the obstacles thrown at us. Each and every person here is stronger than when they first came through the doors. We’ve made memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. We will always be part of the Fenwick family. The class of 2023 is special. I wish you all the best in the future and know you will accomplish amazing things. Chloe Swartz, Senior Class President, now at Bryant University. When I reflect on all the amazing times I’ve had with my classmates and teachers, I can truly see the essence of what we call the “Fenwick Family.” This family starts with my classmates. Through the study sessions, group projects, class discussions, facetime calls, free periods, and collective panic, I have seen just how close the students at Fenwick are. Each year I felt closer to my classmates, and the friendships we have forged through these four years are irreplaceable. The students at Fenwick truly are the greatest. The faculty at Fenwick, just like the student body, is truly amazing. If I had more time, I could say something positive about every single teacher that I have had; those I mention here are only a few…To conclude, I have been happy to call Fenwick my home for the past four years. Andrew Cahill, Salutatorian, now at Northeastern University. When I go home, I’ll open my bedroom door and see my bulletin board. On it, I have mementos from my time here: a picture from a photo booth at a dance freshman year, a varsity letter, a lei from a charity walk I did with the tennis team, a ticket to Spain. We have left our mark on Fenwick, and Fenwick has left its mark on us. As we have walked these halls together for the last four years, Fenwick has shaped us into the people we are today. Though we are leaving, this school and community will remain with us; we have pictures of prom and our first day at school, our freshman letters to ourselves, sweatshirts from sports teams, and soon, we’ll have our diplomas. It is our responsibility to take all that Fenwick has given us and use it for good. Dr. Seuss wrote, “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” As we move forward with this new chapter in our lives, we must realize our potential and forge our own way. Through everything we face, remember who we are— who Fenwick has helped us to be. Aoife DeClercq, Valedictorian, now at Tufts University. What beautiful, thoughtful, and powerful expressions of the uniquely formative and transformative Fenwick experience. Because of you, this experience is possible. Let’s continue making it possible, and let’s redouble our efforts to provide this impactful, uplifting education for each student at Fenwick. Thank you for all that you do for Fenwick and for representing the Bonitas et Fidelitas—the Goodness and Loyalty—of our Fenwick Family. Blessings to you and your family. Go Crusaders! Take care. Sincerely, Tom Nunan, Jr. President

YOUR IMPACT ON FENWICK
An education in the liberal arts is the best means to a life lived well. Not only does the breadth of knowledge that comes from the sciences, the humanities, and the arts make a student better informed, but also the depth of thought that results from engaging with these disciplines expands the mind. The liberal arts bestow the capacity to reason, to evaluate, and to discern for oneself. They instill the power to express oneself originally, the openness to new avenues of thought, and the desire to continue learning. Your support has had a profound impact on the students at Fenwick. Your donations have made it possible for us to provide an enriching and transformative experience for our students. Your contributions have helped us in various ways, from funding scholarships that make Catholic education accessible for more students to improving our facilities and enhancing the quality of education we offer. Because of your generosity, our students have been able to access a wide range of educational opportunities, extracurricular activities, and resources that have enriched their lives and prepared them for a bright future. Your support has allowed us to continue our tradition of instilling the values of faith, service, and leadership. Your impact on Fenwick is felt in all areas of student life.

YOUR IMPACT -ACADEMICALLY
Our academic program is robust and rigorous, as well as flexible and supportive. It focuses on developing essential skills, thereby providing an exceptional foundation for college and career. Our scholars hone their talents for writing, communicating, reflecting, analyzing, and problem-solving while learning in a creative, collaborative environment that values and fosters student voice. Our curriculum is centered on exploring essential questions, such as, “How should I act and live?”, “Can we have both liberty and security?” “How do effective problem-solvers face new challenges?”, “Where are the struggles of humankind revealed in literature?”, and “How do we analyze and interpret evidence to create solutions?” At Fenwick, students think deeply. Each student utilizes a laptop to access our Blackbaud learning management system, to conduct research using extensive databases and relevant websites, and to become proficient using the tools and platforms required for success in college and beyond. Teachers integrate multimedia software, interactive whiteboards, 3D printers, and more to enhance the learning experience. Fenwick offers a Dual Enrollment Program through courses offered by Endicott College. Endicott professors instruct the courses on-site at Fenwick, utilizing Endicott College course syllabi. College credits earned through dual enrollment are applied toward high school and college graduation and may be transferred to many other colleges and universities. Through a four-year, cross-curricular program on Writing and Presentation Skills, Fenwick intentionally and effectively shapes graduates who think critically, read appreciatively, and write clearly, and speak eloquently. Whether in a STEAM class or during Fenwick Connect, students are asked to defend their conclusions with research and analysis and to share their experiences with persuasion and poise.
