2026 SENIOR AWARDS THE NATIONAL SOCIETY OF THE DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION GOOD CITIZENS AWARD This Award and Scholarship Contest was created in 1934 and is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. This award recognizes and rewards individuals who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities. These students are selected by their teachers and peers because they demonstrate these qualities to an outstanding degree.

SCHOLASTIC ART AND WRITING AWARDS Founded in 1923, the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is the nation’s longest running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens. This annual competition recognizes students in grades 7-12 with regional and national honors for their creativity in art and writing in 28 categories. Scholastic received more than 10,000 entries to the Massachusetts competition, which is sponsored by the Boston Globe Foundation in partnership with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University.

NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM National Merit Commended students in this year’s graduating class were among the top 50,000 scorers on the PSAT as juniors. They represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation.

STUDENT-ATHLETE AWARD This award is given to two students who best combine athletic talent with academic ability. The recipients are honor students who have demonstrated ability both on the field and in the classroom.

Presented to: Marianna Kay and Marcus Simon NATIONAL SCHOOL CHORAL AWARD The National School Choral Award is the highest honor for high school choral performance. It is in recognition of singular merit, ability and achievement, and of outstanding contributions to the success of the school vocal program. This award is an honored tradition in most public and private schools in the United States.

Presented to: Stephen Colwell ST. GENESIUS AWARD Named for a 4th Century Roman comic actor, The St. Genesius award is presented to a student who has made unique and outstanding contributions to the Bishop Fenwick Drama Program, both on and off the stage.

Presented to: Allison Boe JOHN PHILIP SOUSA BAND AWARD Introduced in 1955 to honor excellence in high school band programs, the John Philip Sousa Band Award recognizes superior musicianship and outstanding dedication. It was created with the approval of Helen Sousa Albert and Priscilla Sousa, daughters of the famous composer and bandmaster.

Presented to: John Reilly NOTRE DAME AWARD The Notre Dame Award is named after the Sisters of Notre Dame, who were the first Sisters to staff Bishop Fenwick. This award is given to a female member of a sports team who demonstrates spirit, determination and example rather than just ability.

Presented to: Brittney Figulski DONALDSON AWARD The Donaldson Award is named after Steven Donaldson, a member of the class of 1964 who served and sacrificed his life in Vietnam. This award is given to a male member of a sports team who demonstrates spirit, determination and example rather than just ability.

SR. MARGARET MELVILLE, SND AWARD Sr. Margaret had a great love for education and delighted in watching all of her students move forward to new heights.

Presented to: Angelina Civiello THE O'ROURKE SERVICE AWARD This award is named after Sr. Madeleine and Sr. Julienne O’Rourke, who were Sisters of Notre Dame as well as biological sisters. This award is given to a student who has selflessly given long hours of time and dedicated service to Bishop Fenwick High School as well as the broader community.

Presented to: Sophie Koles THE HENRY BRECKENRIDGE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP The Henry Breckenridge Memorial Scholarship is given to a graduating Senior who emulates and embodies the values and virtues of Henry Breckenridge, Class of 2000. A dedicated student, an accomplished athlete, and a loyal Fenwick alum, Henry was a role model in every way. As a veteran police officer for the City of Peabody, Henry was an authentically and remarkably positive presence. He devoted his life to service, and he made a connection with everyone he met. Henry’s strength and courage were exceeded only by his enthusiasm and compassion. This scholarship, given through the Henry R. Breckenridge Charitable Foundation, recognizes individuals who embrace not only academic achievement but also embody Henry’s spirit of intellectual curiosity and unwavering commitment to service.

Presented to: Madisen Baker, Mirelle Climenson, and Jacob Pena SR. GERALDINE BURNS, SND AWARD Sister Geraldine served on the Fenwick faculty and administration for over 40 years. During her time here, she instilled the Christian values of service, selflessness, and passion for helping others in generations of Fenwick students. In her honor, one Fenwick student is selected who represents these values by going above and beyond in their commitment to faith, community service, and Campus Ministry.

McCORMACK AWARD Howard was a 1967 graduate, and this memorial award was established by Dr. Andrew Rosenfeld, in memory of Howard’s boundless service to school and his country. This award is given yearly to a student who exemplifies leadership, patriotism and active participation in school and community activities.

CHRISTINE O'DONNELL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship fund was established by Christine’s family as a living tribute to Chris, who lost her life in a tragic automobile accident after her sophomore year. Chris’s Place, the courtyard between the chapel and art wing, stands as a reminder of Chris’s smile and offers a quiet place for students or faculty.
