COLLEEN CORCORAN’16 Colleen, a Beverly native, was a four year varsity player and two year captain of a State Championship Basketball Team that went 21-4 in her senior year. In 2016, Colleen earned honors as a Boston Globe All Scholastic, a Boston Herald All Scholastic, and a CCL MVP. She was also a two time Salem News Player of the Year, with a double-double average. She scored 975 points, and is among the all-time Fenwick leaders in rebounds. Colleen was a rare three sport Captain and CCL and Salem News All Star in both soccer and lacrosse, to complement her many basketball accolades, and led her team to the North Finals in soccer her senior year. She was named to both the Eastern Massachusetts All-Star Soccer Team, and to the Massachusetts All-State Soccer Team. Colleen earned a scholarship to play Division 2 Basketball at LeMoyne College. She was again a two year Captain, and is tied for fourth all time in program history for games played (112) and 25th all time for offensive rebounds (132). Her teams reached the league playoffs all four years, and qualified for the NCAA tournament in 2019-2020. She and her fellow senior class teammates are the winningest class in LeMoyne’s Women’s Basketball history. Currently Colleen works as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Division 1 University of Albany. She is studying for her Master’s in Educational Policy and Leadership, with a concentration in Higher Education. Colleen’s ultimate goal and dream is to move to California and become a Division 1 Head Coach or a WNBA Coach. Her passions include talking about and watching all sports, working out, photography, spending time outdoors, and with family and friends.
NICK BONA’14 Nick is a Peabody native who served as the only three year Fenwick Football Captain in history, and was a rare four year starter. During his senior year, Nick was the CCL MVP, a Boston Globe and Boston Herald All Scholastic, and Boston Globe Player of the Year. He was also the Salem News and Lynn Item Player of the Year. Nick was named to the All-State Team, and played in both the Shriners and Agganis All Star Games. Nick made 219 tackles senior year, and 499 over his career, which are both school records, and he was 16-3 as a starting quarterback. Nick was widely considered as the best two way player in the State, and led his team to the 2013 State Championship at Gillette Stadium, by a score of 28-0. In baseball, Nick was the CCL MVP his junior year, and was also named a Boston Herald All Scholastic and a Salem News All Star. He was a four year starter, on a team that made the state tournament all four years, and won the CCL Championship. Nick believes that going away for football camp was one of the best experiences of his life, and noted that beating Peabody in baseball in 2013 was special. Nick earned a scholarship to play at Stonehill College, where he majored in Criminology and minored in Communications. He played every game in his career, starting the final 32 games. Nick was Captain his senior year, and is top ten all time in unassisted tackles (132). He belongs to the 200 career tackle club, just the 19th in program history (234). Nick made Dean’s List in 2017 and 2018, and earned the Mike Carr Skyhawk Award, for the Stonehill football player who best exemplifies dedication, leadership ability, and enthusiasm. Cara, a Melrose native, was two year swim captain who qualified for Sectionals and States in all four of her seasons at Fenwick. Cara earned a scholarship to swim at the championship level for a Division 1 program at the University of Maryland. She was an accomplished breaststroker and an exceptional individual medley swimmer. Cara captained her college team during her senior year. In addition to her great success as a high school and college swimmer, Cara was a decorated and highly successful Head Coach at Bishop Fenwick. Cara coached at Fenwick for 10 seasons, and was undefeated in dual meets during her last three seasons as the Head Coach, ending her coaching career on a 25-0 note. For the first time in over 20 years, Fenwick sent a boys relay team to the States under Cara’s direction. Her coaching acumen was rewarded by being chosen as the Boston Globe Division 2 Coach of the Year in 2016. Cara ran the Boston Marathon in 2011, for the “Run for Research” team, to raise money for liver research in honor of her late sister Laura. She raised money for both the American Liver Foundation and the Donate Life cause for organ donation. Cara married Daniel Buckwell in 2012, and gave birth to their daughter Claire Christine in 2016. 1980 GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM'81-'84 This team won Fenwick's first All-State Cross Country Championship. The team was undefeated in dual meets to win the regular season CCL title, then went on to win the league championship, and the Division 3 Eastern Massachusetts Championship. Victories included those against high caliber teams from 6-8 different states. Titles the team captured included Our Lady of Providence, New England Catholics, Northern Area Team Championship, and Knights of Columbus Holyoke Invitational Championship. In the five years previous to the 1980 season, the girls won five straight CCL titles, and went undefeated in 44 straight CCL dual meets. In 1979, the girls finished third in the All-State meet, with the top six girls finishing very close to each other. During 1980, three different girls finished first over the course of the season, adding to the concept of depth and team strength. After Fenwick, many of the girls went on to very successful leadership careers, indicating the high level of discipline they displayed in achieving an All-State title, especially notable for the size of Bishop Fenwick, relative to their All-State opponents.
