LEADING WITH F.I.R.S.T. Congratulations, Cori McMeniman ‘27! What does it look like to put Fenwick F.I.R.S.T. into action? Our first F.I.R.S.T. Award recipient of the year gives us a wonderful example. Senior Cori McMeniman was nominated for consistently demonstrating integrity, strength, compassion, and a genuine commitment to those around her. Her nominator described Cori as someone who makes thoughtful choices -- not simply based on what is easiest or best for herself, but on what is right and how her decisions will impact others. Her willingness to put others first and encourage those around her has made a lasting impression on the Fenwick community.

And the words used to describe Cori say quite a bit on their own: strong, independent, confident, determined, committed, encouraging, dedicated, loyal, and wonderful. Most importantly, Cori demonstrates the values at the heart of the Fenwick experience: Faith, Integrity, Relationship, Scholarship, and Tradition. Congratulations to Cori, our first Fenwick F.I.R.S.T. Award recipient of the 2026–27 school year!

GALWAY IS CALLING Fenwick students will have the opportunity to travel to Galway, Ireland, in summer 2027 for an unforgettable international experience! Fenwick students previously participated in this program in 2018 and 2019, and we’re excited to explore bringing it back for a new group of students.

If there is enough student interest, a Parent & Student Information Night will be held on Tuesday, October 27, at 6:00 p.m. and will feature a visit from Brian Fahy, the program director, who can answer questions and share more about what students can expect.

Interested? Come learn more! Students are invited to an informational meeting on Thursday, October 8, at 2:40 p.m. in Room 210. Students may also stop by after school with questions or to get additional information.

Adventure. Culture. Ireland. Summer 2027. Start thinking about whether Galway could be part of your Fenwick experience!

SCHOLARSHIP OPORTUNITIES Emmanuel College Saints Catholic Connection Guarantee

Saint Michael’s College Saints Catholic Connection Guarantee

Through the Saints Catholic Connection Guarantee, qualifying Fenwick students can receive guaranteed admission to Emmanuel College along with a merit scholarship of at least $100,000, distributed evenly over four years.

Saint Michael’s College in Vermont offers a scholarship specifically for students graduating from Catholic high schools.

The program reflects the shared commitment of Emmanuel College and its partner Catholic high schools to providing students with a strong Catholic education and a clear pathway to continue that experience in the heart of Boston. To qualify, students must: Attend a partner Catholic high school Earn a weighted GPA of 3.5 or higher through junior year Apply to Emmanuel College through the Common Application Complete an official visit to the Emmanuel College campus Students must also reside on campus and meet the scholarship renewal requirements outlined in their scholarship notification. For questions about the Saints Catholic Connection Guarantee, students and families may contact the Emmanuel College Office of Admissions at 617-735-9715 or admissions@emmanuel.edu.

Recipients of the Don Dion ’76 Catholic School Scholarship receive $10,000 annually toward tuition, in addition to other scholarships for which they may qualify. The scholarship is renewable for four years, providing a total award of $40,000. To be considered, students must: Attend and be on track to graduate from a Catholic high school Be an incoming first-year student Maintain a minimum high school GPA of 3.2 Apply for admission by the November 1 Early Action deadline Applicants must also submit a short essay of no more than one page addressing: How has your Catholic education and/or faith experience shaped you, and how do you connect that with the Edmundite mission of Saint Michael’s College? Students interested in this opportunity should speak with their Fenwick college counselor for additional information.

Becoming U Foundation Becoming U Foundation is offering three $300 scholarships this year. They're open to any Massachusetts high school senior planning to continue their education or training after graduation. Becoming U Foundation envisions a world where no one mistakes a difficult season for a permanent identity. Where seeking support is as natural as seeking any other kind of care, and where connection is available before crisis. Our mission is to help each person feel more connected, more supported, and able to fully participate in their own life. Students will answer the prompt: Knowing what you know now, what would you tell your freshman-year self about those pressures, and mental health? Ground your answer in a real experience you lived or witnessed. Explain what you understood then, what you understand now, and what made the difference. How does the Foundation's mission, helping each person feel connected, supported, and able to fully participate in their own life, connect to who you are becoming? As you enter your next chapter, explain one specific way you will carry these lessons forward: both in caring for yourself, and in helping someone else feel safe enough to stop pretending and reach out. Students write a 750–1,000 word essay on "What I Wish I Knew Freshman Year," reflecting on the pressure to appear fine in high school and what they'd tell their younger self about asking for support. Students don't need to share personal struggles. Essays about something they witnessed count equally.Scholarship Information: Essays are anonymized and scored by independent reviewers. TESTIMONIAL “The collegeprocess is very daunting. College Affordable took a lot of the stress and pressure of navigating that process away. They were incredibly supportive from beginning to end and I don’t know if we would’ve gotten through it as gracefully without their help and support.” - Parent ‘25

FRESHMAN CRUSADERS CRUSADERS IN IN TRAINING TRAINING & & SENIOR CRUSADER PEER PEER LEADERS LEADERS Dear Crusader Families, Dear Families, This week in Student Life, students participated in a lesson from The Social Institute called “Stress and Sleep.” We explored the important connection between these two areas of our lives: when stress increases, sleep can suffer, and when we don’t get enough sleep, our days can become even more stressful. Our senior leaders helped bring this conversation to life by sharing their personal experiences and practical strategies for finding a healthy balance. They encouraged students to make the most of study halls to complete work during the school day, create small reward systems after completing homework, and be intentional about balancing extracurricular commitments with adequate rest.

One of the most important takeaways was the value of establishing a consistent sleep schedule and bedtime routine. While busy schedules and responsibilities can make this challenging, prioritizing sleep can help students feel more focused, energized, and prepared to manage the demands of their day. We hope this conversation encourages students to think about sleep not as something to fit in when everything else is finished, but as an important part of their overall well-being and success. Below are suggested topics to discuss with your child based on our lesson of the week. Warmly, Jena Timson Assistant Dean of Students

Subject: Huddle up: What Bishop Fenwick High School (Peabody, MA) is doing to #WinAtSocial Your child's class just ran the #WinAtSocial Lesson, Examining the impact of stress on sleep. As you have time, continue the conversation at home about these important modern-day life skills. Consider encouraging your child to coach up and share their ideas. Here are some questions you can pose to everyone in the family:

Family Huddles: TOSS UP: If sleep was a competition in our family, who would win what “event” — falling asleep fastest, hitting the snooze button the most, or dreaming about the weirdest things? COACH UP: How does the amount of sleep you get affect your mood or focus during the day? Have you noticed any patterns? HUDDLE UP: What’s the biggest thing that keeps you up at night, and how could you make a plan to deal with it so it doesn’t affect your sleep?
