Mother’s Day Is Honorable Mother’s Day is a special day set apart for remembering our mothers and the Matriarchal anointing of Godly women that have made great impact in our lives. This is a day set aside to honor them but daily is the calling to mind of all that they have done for us, all that they mean to us, and who we are because of them. Our mothers and matriarchs were an instrument in God’s hand to bring us into this world.

The love of a mother for her child is the closest thing to the love of God for mankind and especially His love for His children. From the time of conception, there is a oneness between mother and child that is sacred in God’s eyes. This is why to abort a child is great loss and void within a woman. It grieves and angers God that man would endeavor to destroy His creation regardless to the circumstances of inception. He is the giver of life and each child conceived has purpose and a specific plan from God to fulfill in the earth.

God placed us into the arms of our mothers at birth. What a joy and blessing it is for a mother to caress her newborn child for the first time at birth and then to hold her child’s hand throughout life.

There is a bond so deep in the parent/child relationship that should never be broken. God loves us and gave us His Only Begotten Son to redeem us back to Him and likewise He has given us spiritual birth. This is the example we should maintain in honoring, respecting and loving the one who gave us physical birth. A woman his the receiver of life and she incubates the life seed implanted within her and manifests that seed in childbirth. There’s nothing that can compare to the entrance of a child into the world.

Sadly, not all mother and child relationships endure the storms of this life and many are broken. Broken relationships grieve the heart of God and every effort should be made to bring about reconciliation and restoration in family relationships. The loss of a child through death is tragic, whether miscarriage, accidental or intentional. It is the love of God that heals a mother broken heart and gives her peace. Forgiveness is the key to restoration in a relationship to God, to a mother or to a child. Forgiveness will influence our thoughts, words, and actions and will restore the relationships in our lives mentally, spiritually, past and present.

MURIEL TEPHANY Called To The Nations

M

uriel Tephany was born again in 2000 and called to five-fold ministry. She is called to teach and preach the Kingdom of God. The Lord led her into the ministry of interpretation and translation in the year 2007. I was helping a ministry give leadership training to churches in Brussels, Belgium as well as translating the books and curriculums literature. I was impressed

with the idea of starting a business in the field of translation and interpretation that bubbled within me. There’s a myriad of great Christian books in the English language that haven’t been translated into French for spiritual consumption. As I pondered the thoughts of there’s such a great need for knowledgeable books regarding the Word of God and His Kingdom that needs to get into the hands of European and African speaking nations. I can translate and publish

for clients and expand the Kingdom of God at the same time become an entrepreneur with purpose to a lost and dying world.

The objective of my business is to extend the knowledge of God and His Word into the French speaking world. By offering two major facets; the translation of English books to French and French to English language and secondarily publishing the client’s respective book(s).

My education and vocation expertise derived from my three-year training with the International Development School in Brussels, Belgium. God opened doors for me to provide the interpretation in the European Convention of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship for seven years in Belgium and later, interpretation for God-TV in Oslo, Norway for the Winter Celebration.

For four years I provided interpretation to the Convocation of All Nations organized by the Jerusalem House of Prayer for All Nations in Israel. This brought about an even larger demand to churches in Belgium and France.

God tremendously blessed her to interpret for a number of God’s Generals in the Word and Faith such as Dr. Myles Munroe, Dr. Bill Winston, Cindy Jacobs, Churck Pierce, Heidi Baker, Mahesh Chavda, Pastor Brandy F. Gibson, Pastor Jim Shrener and many, many more.

I REMEMBERING MOTHERS IN THE PHILIPPINES & INDIA

n the Philippines there are around 13 million plus single mothers across the nation. Their standard of living and their ability to provide the most basic human needs are dismal.

For a mother unable to generate the income required to take care of her family is painstaking.

The basic human needs for those in poverty needs the Church to intercede in behalf of them. The very thought of a family without food, clothing, heat, water toiletries is bewildering.

The Philippines remains a deeply divided country economically, with over 20% of the country estimated to be living in poverty as of 2018. A 2007

report released by the World Health Organization (WHO), in conjunction with the Philippine Department of Health (DOH) and the University of the Philippines, found that of the 14 million single parents in the Philippines, 95% were women, and this number is likely far greater today. The lack of a stable

The enemy of God is stirring up his game plan because he knows his time is nearing defeat; but God’s plan always supersedes and annihilates his. How? Through the Body of Christ who pray His Word back to Him enabling His will to be done in the earth. But Church are you praying God’s Word?

It is time to address the societal issues that has plagued these vulnerable single mothers and their families for too long. So, by faith and in the authority of Jesus Name we pray God’s promised Word with expectation of miraculous breakthrough comes to 14

Mothers Experiencing Coronavirus Issues, Lack And Fear the Philippines.

Let’s address the pain in India today. Israel sent a shipment of life-saving medical supplies to India to help the country fight a devastating new outbreak of the coronavirus. The medical equipment, oxygen generators and oxygen respirators, as well as medical equipment were sent to aid in helping families of Israel’s ally.

During the first days of the pandemic in 2020 Israel was in need and India sent much-needed medical equipment, including gloves, masks, and materials for medicines. Israel’s reciprocal act was a small token of friendship from Israel to India. The issue today is praying about making sure all of the people of India have access to the medical supplies, equipment as well as food, water and other necessities despite their caste system in life.

India is on a caste system and those in rural areas have been locked down daily with restrictions to time and travel. Therefore, many people, pastors, orphans, and family members have died from covid in the outlying rural areas desperately in need. So what is a caste system?

Here’s a breakdown of the caste system in India: The Brahmins are the priests and teachers.

The Kshatriyas are the warriors and rulers.

The Vaishyas are the farmers, traders and merchants.

The Shudras are the laborers The Dalits are the outcasts; the street sweepers and latrine cleaners.

The system which divides Hindus into rigid hierarchical groups based on their karma (work) and dharma (the Hindi word for religion, but here it means duty) is generally accepted to be more than 3,000 years old. Many believe that the groups originated from Brahma, their Hindu God of creation.

At the top of the hierarchy were the Brahmins who were mainly teachers and intellectuals and are believed to have come from Brahma’s head. Then came the Kshatriyas, or the warriors and rulers, supposedly from his arms. The third slot went to the Vaishyas, or the traders, who were created from his thighs. At the bottom of the heap were the Shudras, who came from Brahma’s

feet and did all the menial jobs.

The main castes were further divided into about 3,000 castes and 25,000 sub-castes, each based on their specific occupation. Outside of this Hindu caste system were the achhoots - the Dalits or the untouchables. For centuries, caste has dictated almost every aspect of Hindu religious and social life, with each group occupying a specific place in this complex hierarchy.

Rural communities have long been arranged on the basis of castes - the upper and lower castes almost always lived in segregated colonies, the water wells were not shared, Brahmins would not accept food or drink from the Shudras, and one could marry only within one’s caste.

In recent decades, with the spread of secular education and growing urbanization, the influence of caste has somewhat declined, especially in cities where different castes live side-by-side and inter-caste marriages are becoming more common.

In certain southern states and in the northern state of Bihar, many people began using just one name after social reform movements. Despite the changes though, caste identities remain strong, and last names are almost always indications of what caste a 16 person belongs to.

We have heard the tragic news of a mother in the rural area committing suicide and taking the life of her ten year old son and six year old daughter prior to taking her own due to the lack of food, water and overwhelming fear. This tragedy devastated the villagers and their basic needs are mounting. Imagine the thoughts of a mother to a newborn, or child of any age that she cannot provide for. Jesus told us in Mark 16:15 to “Go ye” into all the world, so let’s do it. Ask God what you should give and be obedient to do so. Send your donations to: Project O.I.L. Father God, in the Name and authority of Your Son Jesus Christ we decree the bondage to be removed from Your people. We thank You that no weapon formed against them shall prosper and that You supply every need according to Your riches in glory. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem. We thank You that India, Israel and the Philippines are blessed beyond measure and that they dwell in the secret place of You, The Most High.

Thank You Father for being their refuge and their fortress and in You will they trust.

Surely Father, You will deliver them from the noisome pestilence of covid 19 and You will cover them with Your Feathers and under Your Wings shall they trust, Your Truth shall be their shield and buckler and they shall not be afraid of the terror by night nor for the arrow that flight by day; nor for covid 19 that walks in darkness, nor any destruction at noonday. Thank You Jehovah that a thousand shall fall at their side and 10,000 at their right hand but it shall not come nigh them. There shall no evil befall them, neither shall any plague nor human trafficking come nigh their dwelling because You give Your angels charge over them this moment to keep them in all Thy ways. They shall call upon You and You will answer them, You will be with them in trouble and You will deliver them and honor them. With long life will You satisfy them and show them Your Salvation.

PETTWAY The Cradle That Held Me

Maya Angelou understood it best in her universally wise poem “Mother, A Cradle To Hold Me”. Within that poem, Angelou patiently describes a blossoming relationship between a mother and daughter as the latter grows from babe to adulthood. Since Angelou so tenderly described the intricacies of such a dynamic relationship, I find it useful to not reinvent the wheel here but to build upon it using Angelou’s words as a mirror showing the beautiful relationship I also have with my mother, Vanessa Pettway.

MOTHER, A CRADLE TO HOLD ME

It is also true That you were created for me.

I owned your voice.

It was shaped and tuned to soothe me.

Your arms were molded Into a cradle to hold me, to rock me.

Markia’s Words: Some of my earliest memories are of my mother sweetly singing and rocking me as I drift off to sleep in her warm embrace. “Rock-a-bye baby on the treetop”, I can still hear the melody in my ears. Her arms were, and still are, my safe place—a home that will shield me from the terror the world may try to bring my way. As I reminisce on these beautiful moments, gratitude and love overflow my heart.

Markia’s Words: I will admit that even now this concept is difficult to grasp, but my mother had a whole life before me! I was an addition to her world while she was all that I knew of mine. But, as a true mother, she did not place me, so to speak, on a shelf that had room. Vanessa Pettway selflessly upended her world to ensure that I could have hope, peace, and love in mine. I will never forget the time when I contracted the chicken pox. My mother was by my side the entire time rubbing calamine lotion over my body, sitting with me during my numerous oatmeal baths, and even sleeping in bed with me at night to keep me comforted.

Looking back, I do not even think she got a single wink of sleep during that time, and I was sick for a whole week! But looking back with fresh eyes, the motherly loyalty she displayed reminds me of Ruth and her wise obedience to her motherly calling reminds me of Mary, but it is ultimately her unconditional and sacrificial love that reminds me of Christ.

“You thought you know me, But I did know you, You thought you were watching me, But I did hold you securely in my sight, Recording every moment, Memorizing your smiles, tracing your frowns.

In your absence I rehearsed you, The way you had of singing On a breeze, While a sob lay At the root of your song.”

Markia’s Words: I am always extremely grateful for and flattered by those who kindly decide to give me a compliment.

But what many may not know is that so much of who I am today is directly influenced by my mother. I catch myself laughing sometimes as I reminisce on how I wanted so much to do whatever my mom did. During my early childhood years (and still to this day), my mother commanded a room as she sauntered with her long, straight hair, fresh manicure, and her oh-so-coveted cell phone. 5-year old Markia, with her curly afro, natural nails, and of course, no cell phone, could not wait until the day she possessed all three. But any given day you could catch me in the mirror pretending to comb my luscious locks or talking into my imaginary cell phone (also known as my hand). But even as we fast forward to present-day, the influence that my mother has on me is still undeniable. In fact, even more so because I now look to her actions, hoping to one day walk in the same wisdom, grace, and sweetness she so beautifully possesses.

Markia’s Words: Ah, the infamous teenage years. I am sure so many of us look back at these moments only to laugh and shake our heads remembering how foolish we really were. I can recall many a time when my mother and I had a disagreement and I, in my foolish ways, would then go days without even acknowledging my mother’s presence because I was “clearly” right and she was “clearly” wrong. But do you know what’s funny? If you were to ask me today what it was we fought about, I could not give you an answer. But what I do remember most is that I was miserable during those days I refused to talk to my mother. I would literally cry myself to sleep. During my misguided abuse, I still deeply loved and longed for my mother.

And I also understood that she too continued to love and long for me. Of course, I can now admit that she was in fact clearly right during those little spats. But what I learned most from those memories is the tact behind and the importance of maintaining difficult relationships, especially when that individual means the world to you. The irony—even when I thought I was wiser and teaching her, she was the wisest and definitely still teaching me.

Markia’s Words: For your melodic lullabies, your embracing arms, your emulatable femininity, your indisputable wisdom, your Christ-like love, and the numerous other innate attributes you possess, my love for you is as vast as the east is from the west.

Her Child Shall Rise And Call Her Blessed

I have never heard my mother complain about motherhood, even when she had several reasons to do so. This woman birthed five children, four boys and one girl. Yet, I cannot recall a time where she stated or even acted as if she regretted any of it. My friend’s mothers often voice their regrets and gripes about becoming a mother. This is not the case for Paula Thomas. She loved and loves being a mother. She loved being pregnant, she loved nurturing and caring for us. She loved teaching us things and watching us grow. She takes her role as a mother seriously making sure she makes time for each of us. That is something I admire and respect about my mother. She has always made time for us no matter the circumstances.

My earliest and probably most significant memory about my mother is her praying in the mornings. I remember my brother and I making a game of sneaking in her bedroom while she prayed. We would see her kneeling on the side of the bed with books and notebooks surrounding her. We were probably four and five and my brother and I would try to figure out what she was saying. It sounded like she was yelling in gibberish. However, I now know she was speaking in tongues. For hours, every day my mother did this. When she was done, she would come out of the room and start her day. Often, she would play with us while she would cook and clean in preparation of my father coming home from work. Christian music would fill the house during that time. My mother never allowed secular music to be played around us when we were children. Our only options were Christian music, Bible stories on cassette 31 tape or her motivational tapes. We also had limited television options. She often kept it on the Christian network most of the day after we watched Sesame Street on PBS of course.

As I grew up, I quickly realized that my childhood was far from what the world considered normal. Just like most children I wished I could do what my friends did. I wanted to listen to the radio and sleep in on Sundays and watch what everyone else watched on television. Little did I know my mother’s decision to raise us in the word of God would set us apart in the best way possible. I know I excelled in school because of it and I have visible favor over my life. I am so thankful for my praying mother. I am grateful that my mother took time to raise me in the things of God. My mother could not give me a lot of materialistic things growing up, but what she has giving me is priceless.

A Letter & Tribute To Mom

Dear Mother, When you are a kid, you don’t realize why certain things happen, you just know that they do. Of course you think that it’s all just life when you don’t understand life. Whether it’s filled with peace, comfort, struggle, confusion, or an ever-changing combination of it all. At a young age you don’t know what cause and effect is. You don’t know the reason behind what’s going on in your life, but you do know who was there during every moment. That person for me was you. You are a very strong woman, but I didn’t realize that until I became a man. I took steps out into life and got a better understanding of it along with that cause and effect. It really hit me hard. I would constantly… wonder on our family’s life. “What was that about?”, “Why did this happen?”, “Why did so and so do this?”, and “how were you so strong through it all?”

All of the constant attacks from the enemy?

Simply because you are a soldier. Throughout 35 my lifetime I would see you providing, working your “magic”, and making things happen for me and my siblings as well as those who are not related to me. We may not have gotten what we wanted all of the time, but you always made sure we had what we needed. Growing up I also saw you smile, laugh, cry, and express other emotions. I never did see you give up though. I may have a different way of showing it but, I am truly grateful for you. I love you and I thank you for everything, Happy Mother’s Day!!

She has treated us with care and love and makes us always feel special in any type of way, even when we annoy her, she has always loved us.

She has always been there throughout hard times even when she couldn’t make it to certain things or do a certain thing she always made up for it in a more fantastic way than before. My mother can do anything! She’s very strong, smart, caring and very lovable and don’t forget, her being very beautiful.

It would be hard for you to dislike her . My family members and I love her with all our hearts and wouldn’t let anything happen to her. I could trust her with anything and I’m sure Brandon, Asia, and Anfernee could too. I guarantee, we wouldn’t let anything happen to her because she’s the best, she can do everything if she puts her mind to it. That’s why I trust her and that’s why I think she’s the most fantastic woman in the world.

My mother, Tammie Annette Davis-Keebaugh is the love of my life. Her love for me is unquestionable and so undeniable. As a single mom she invested all for me and because of her tenacity and assertiveness in life she set the pattern for me. She invested in my private Christian schooling at Faith Christian Academy, Southfield, Michigan, the brainchild of Bishop Keith and Pastor Deborah Butler of Word of Faith International Christian Center. where it was “Excellence Or Nothing At All.” This school birthed and nurtured exceptional attorneys, ministers, scientists, neurologists, high-tech computer gurus, entertainers, and a cadre of many elite professionals. She saw the epitome of excellence and spared no expense in making sure I had it.

Being dressed in uniform five days a week gave me an exhilaration in following my mother to the mall on the weekends and some occasions during the week. Her impeccable style and taste for the best in fabric quality really exploded within me. She allowed me the opportunity to make selections of my own choice and when my selection missed the mark I was taught why and why not in the process. One key was avoiding trendy styles. I loved this invaluable time with my mom and exploring the art of fashion and her allowing me to transition into my own. She made sure I attended the best in my collegiate aspirations, and we worked together in the same industry field for a period of time. I knew she was teaching me business protocol and being reliable and responsible.

Today, I examine the past when my mom’s sacrifices for my opportunities present reflects the highs and lows in life, yet she excelled it all. Because I’m an only child I was given a great deal, yet I was also deprived of being a brat because mom knew how and when to say no and how to discipline me as well. This has made me into what I am today as a wife of an outstanding and loving husband and a mother of two beautiful children. I now realize the genuine and deep love my mom has for me when I look into the eyes of my children. A mother’s love is so invaluable. This gives me such a humbling feeling and high respect and regard for her.

My mom’s achievements in life are impeccable to me. She obtained a double major in college as a single mom, became the highest paid individual in her field in the State of Michigan, purchased her own home, designed it with interior decorating skills, furnished it with impeccable and expensive artifacts and more, maintained great credit, soared in six figure income, studies for her masters, yet she always has time to be with me. My mom is married now to her wonderful husband Scott who allows me mommy time because he knows as Natalie Cole sang, we’re “inseparable.” We still take time for brunch, lunches and dinner outings together and of course - we’re still shopping and traveling together. Now my daughter Lane is acquiring the anointing and art of shopping. It’s hilarious and at the same time phenomenal.

CATHERINE WILLIAMS My Inspiration

The one constant in my life has been my mom, Catherine Williams. She was my first best friend and I’m so grateful for her. She has helped me through every experience in my life.

At the age of 22 months I was diagnosed with congenital scoliosis and my mom was the rock in our family during the whole experience. Every hospital appointment and surgery she stayed with me. As an

occupational therapist she was able to have a more in-depth insight into the medical side and help me understand it so that I would not be as scared.

Looking back now, I see how strong she was/is, and I feel like she was braver than me.

She also instilled the word of God into me. Even as a child I remember her talking to us about God and how much he loved me. I think about all the different bibles and bible lessons she would get and reminisce on learning more about God’s word with her. Due to me being in and out of the hospital I couldn’t always go to the kids Sunday School class at my church so I would stay with her and watch her teach her Senior Citizen’s Women’s Class and I loved her pure joy about God’s word. She has taught me so much about being a devoted Godly Woman.

Me and my mom talk about everything and I love and admire her honesty and how open she is about her life. I always know that I can ask my mom anything and she will be honest and tell me the truth. She also will tie anything I ask her back to Christ and I admire that.

My mom has an infectious joy and even though she has been through so much in her life it is rare that you will see her without a smile on her face. There have been very few people I have met who can’t help but to love my mom and just how sweet she is. My friends even ask to go to my house just to see my mom because they love her and her spirit. If you ask her why she is happy she will always tell you that it is because of Jesus and I have always loved that.

My mom to me is the best woman in the world and I can’t imagine life without her.

She is my best friend, my rock, and my inspiration. I hope I can be as great of a woman, wife, and mother as she is.

2 Corinthians 3:17 The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. The National Day of Prayer Task Force is a privately funded organization whose purpose is to encourage participation on the National Day of Prayer. It exists to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer, to create appropriate materials, and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America’s leaders and its families. The Task Force represents a Judeo-Christian expression of the national observance, based on our understanding that this country was birthed in prayer and in reverence for the God of the Bible.

In this anniversary year when we are celebrating 70 years, seven decades of prayer for America. We must press into each day and the coming decades even MORE fervently, knowing that the challenges for our nation are INCREASING, not DECREASING! Imagine what our nation would look like if God’s people had not been praying. Corrections from March Issue Minister Deborah Banks graduated from Rhema in 1987. Upon Regarding Minister Deborah graduation she was hired in the music department of Rhema Bible Church as the music secretary, as well as the church organist. While Banks: in that position she directed the Youth choir and was director over the Victory Singers until 1992.

In January 1992 she became an integral part of the Rhema Singers and Band as their organist. She was blessed to travel with Prophet Kenneth E. Hagin and responsible for setting the atmosphere before he ministered the Word of God. Each of the Rhema Singers are now fulfilling the call of God on their lives and many are traveling to various churches as well as doing their own meetings. That same spirit that was on Brother Hagin has been imparted unto us and we go forth in glorifying God.

Just to name a few Marty Blackwelder, Phillip Slaughter, Anne and Kevin Durant, Larry Hutton have had the same manifestations of the spirit happen in their meetings as they travel all over the world.
