Carol Hodge The Scent Of Heaven
C
arol Hodge is entrepreneur, artist, designer and heart behind The Scent of Heaven founded in 2006. She is a lifelong artist who loves to create through all sorts of venues: painting on canvas, calligraphy, jewelry making and much more. For a season, she had a shop at the 1904 World’s Fair Building in downtown St. Louis, Missouri where she sold “Dive for a Pearl” with custom jewelry. In real estate the motto is “ location, location, location” and in 1990 Carol Hodge found a great location to launch her business “Dive For A Pearl”.. To give historical background on her world fashion location we find that in April 1904, St. Louis opened its doors to the world for what was officially called the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, but was widely known as the St. Louis World’s Fair. Millions of dollars had been spent to build the 1,200-acre fairgrounds. During the eight months the fair stayed open, nearly 20 million people paid a visit. On display were marvels of technology, agriculture, art, and history, and there were amusement rides and entertainment. Decades later comes Carol Hodge and her creations to accentuate the World’s Fair Building. Her artistry breathed the heavenly scent throughout. Coupled with this creativity is a strong love of the Lord and a prophetic gifting.

Carol loves spending time with the Lord and seeking His face for answers to questions that occur to her. The Scent of Heaven was birthed in such a fashion. One day Carol was asking the Lord what Heaven smelled like. What the Lord began to show her was that The Scent of Heaven is all the fragrances, but – much like how a prism can change a single ray of light and separate it into each beam of color – when The Scent of Heaven comes to earth it is separated into multiple heavenly fragrances for us to enjoy. The Lord has gifted Carol with an ability to blend these heavenly scents together to create little slices of heaven for us to enjoy here on earth. Both on her own and working with prophetic intercessors, Carol continues to create these heavenly scents as the Spirit reveals them – she’s birthed anointing oils and perfumed oils named His Passion, Warrior, The Promise, Wait Upon the Lord, In His Hands, Oil of Melchizedek and many more. Each one has a story, a message, and purpose.

The Creator’s Essence The Creator’s Essence is a devotional authored by Carol Hodge; it comes from Carol’s years of study and life experiences. The Devotional is arranged alphabetically based on the anointing oils which were created by Carol for her business to express the Creator’s essence. The Creator has placed His essence in His creation and is reflected in what may be seen (Romans 1:20-KJV - For the invisible things of him from the cre-
ation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:). The Creator’s Essence is an exciting journey through the scriptures and God’s creation.

Women Arise The Women Arise series of oils was birthed from a dream/vision the Lord gave Carol in which she saw names in darkness. They started floating and as they floated by she could see names of women in the bible. Looking down she saw a row of bottles and above the bottles were the words “Women Arise.” She could see names of various women of the bible on each of the bottles with the exception of the last bottle which was blank. Carol asked the Lord, “what is her name?” (referring to the blank bottle), but the Lord didn’t respond. Weeks went by and she asked her intercessor friends to pray so she would know who the last bottle was. Suddenly, after weeks of prayer and seeking, when she asked the Lord yet again, “what is her name?” He replied, “The Dove.” Then Carol understood that The Dove represents Us the twenty first century woman with “dove’s eyes” and a heart after God. Carole Anne-Marie Gist It’s African - American Miss USA
Carole Anne Marie Gist, born May 8, 1969 a native and jewel of Detroit, Michigan became Miss Michigan in 1990. Following this major award she became the first African American female to win the Miss USA pageant in Wichita, Kansas on March 2, 1990. This achievement was personal and the highlight for cheering supporters of Detroit. Everyone remembers where they were when she won. Further competition in 1990 the current reigning Miss
USA at age 20 became the first Runner-Up for the Miss Universe competition. What a track record! Gist, standing statuesquely at 6 feet with impeccable beauty that all can see has an even greater in-depth beauty inside. Her accomplishments became a calling card for young girls that were drawn to her like a magnet. Gist used her gift of beauty to witness Jesus to them. She provided

transportation to bringing approximately 15-20 girls to church each Sunday putting one of her multifaceted talents to work for the Kingdom of God. My personal relationship with Carole was one of respect and transparency. Her confidence in my fashion consulting and retail operation allotted me opportunity to provide her daughter Tylar image and etiquette training at a young age. This proved to be rewarding, seeing how her daughter became such an elegant lady as her mom. Carole and I worked by shooting a fashion commercial for my business Elah Image in Detroit. The favor of God
was present providing me with Carole Anne-Marie Gist, Miss USA and the top fashion models in Michigan, my sister Michelle Jefferson and Mr. Regis Johnson. Not only did she provide the involvement in the commercial but was a client of my business which catered ti celebrities in the sports and entertainment fields. Gist is an affluent entrepreneur of Royal Physique Fitness and shares her skill set as a Physical Fitness Coordinator at Wayne State University. Health and fitness is a daily habit for her.
Gist is a graduate of Cass Technical High School in Detroit where Dianna Ross and other notables attended. Gist achieved even more in her passion for excellence in education displayed in her recent Masters Degree in Sports Administration. She obtained all A’s in every class graduating from Wayne State University in 2020 despite a pandemic. This remarkable woman maintains her beauty and brawn. At age 51 she gives other women the motivation to stay physically and mentally fit, always striving for excellence.
