For Contemporary line we carefully choose natural cow leathers, with an intense focus that they become nicer the longer they are used. Contemporary line is manufactured in India and Columbia.

Das Leder der Aberdeens fasst sich satt an. Knautscht man es, kann man der Tasche zusätzlich einen Two-Tone-Effekt geben. Der seidige Glanz lässt die Farbe leuchten und gibt den Taschen ihren hochwertigen Ausdruck. Durch die Filzauskleidung im Inneren setzt sich diese Wertigkeit fort.

The leather of the Aberdeens has a rich and full feel. If you poke it, you can also give the bag a Two-Tone effect. The silky shine lights up the color and gives the bags their high-quality expression. Through the felt lining inside, this value continues.

Die „Submarines“ werden als fertig genähte Taschen gewaschen und erhalten so ihren knautschig-lässigen Look. Die dezent glänzende Oberfläche und die satte Haptik des Leders erzeugen eine authentische Wertigkeit. Die kleinen antik-goldenen Metallnieten und Verschlüsse veredeln den Look der Submarine Taschen.

Lining: farbig abgestimmte Baumwolle „Submarine“ bags are being washed as an entire bag after production. This unconventional process makes up the specific soft-casual look. Slightly glossy surface and full grain leather are making up an own expression of valuability. Finally, matte antic colored rivets and fittings ennobles the look of submarine styles.

Für die Modelle der „Leado“ Linie verwenden wir gewachstes und geöltes Anticleder.

Die justierbaren Riemen werden aus dunkelbraunem 3,5 mm dickem Sattlerleder hergestellt. Zusammen mit den neu entworfenen Taschenschnitten erhalten die „Leado“ Modelle einen modernen Retrostyle. Das geölte und gewachste Rindleder bekommt im Gebrauch eine wunderschöne individuelle Patina. Lining: gestreift, aus robustem Polyester For „Leado“ Style we chose our well established waxed and oiled anticleather. The adjustable trimmings are made of 3,5 mm saddle leather in classical darkbrown color.

In combination with newly designed shapes the bags appear in a modern retro-style.

Wir arbeiten mit einer indischen Manufaktur in der Nähe von Kalkutta zusammen.

Harold‘s hat den Aufbau der Manufaktur seit den späten neunziger Jahren begleitet.

Unsere Partner arbeiten mit SEDEX und Bureau Veritas zusammen. Beide Organisationen verfolgen ein Konzept, das den Unternehmen als Grundlage dient, auf freiwilliger Basis Sozial- und Umweltbelange in ihre Unternehmenstätigkeit zu integrieren. Die Verträge beinhalten eine Sozial-, Kranken- und Unfallversicherung, sowie 15 bezahlte Urlaubstage. Das Mindestalter liegt bei 14 Jahren, ab einem Alter von 18 Jahren darf aber erst die volle Arbeitszeit gefordert und geleistet werden. Durch eine konstant verteilte Auftragslage sorgt Harold‘s für die wirtschaftlichen Rahmenbedingungen, um ganzjährige Beschäftigung zu gewährleisten. Damit bleibt das aufgebaute Know-how in der Manufaktur – die Voraussetzung für eine gleichbleibend hohe Verarbeitungsqualität.

Seit 1985 produzieren wir in einer Taschenmanufaktur in Bogota. Grundlage sind gesetzlich geregelte Arbeitsverträge und sozial versicherte Arbeitsplätze, im Gegensatz zur verbreiteten Wanderarbeiterschaft. Die Richtlinien führen dazu, daß die Mehrzahl der Arbeiter seit über 20 Jahren in der Fabrik arbeiten, ein Umstand, der wiederum die Voraussetzung für qualitativ nachhaltig produzierte Taschen ist, da das Know-how in der Fabrik bleibt, bzw. schrittweise ausgebaut werden kann.

Die eingesetzten vegetabilen Leder stammen aus der unmittelbaren Region von Rindern, die – wie in Südamerika üblich – ganzjährig im Freien in den hohen Anden leben. Die eingesetzten Metallteile und Linings mit hoher Stichausreißfestigkeit werden ebenfalls direkt aus der Region bezogen.

The indian manufactory is a family run company located nearby Calcutta. The cooperation with Harold‘s began in the late nineties around the same time when the indian company has been established. They engaged SEDEX und Bureau Veritas in order to install social and environmental standards. The contracts contain social-, health- and accident insurances as well as 15 days of paid holidays. The minimum age of worker is 14, but only from the age of 18 years full working time is allowed. Being the main customer Harold‘s manages for constant order level in order to keep the worker employed during entire year. Thus know-how is kept in the manufactory, which guarantees quality oriented workmanship at high level.

The cooperation with the Colombian manufactory was established in 1985. Basis are labour agreements and social securities regulated by law. As a result of these guidelines, most of the workers of our South American partner have been with the company for more than 20 years – a fact that guarantees profound and sustainable know-how and thus high quality of the products.

The leather applied comes from the surrounding regions in South America. The same applies to the cattle, which live in the nature in South America and not in barns as most of the animals in Europe do. The metal parts and linings feature a high level of impenetrability and tear resistance.

Through its open porosity the leather creates a self-care effect, caused by friction, light and above all by the sebum of hands: the bag gets a patina which makes it a unique single piece. The patina effect is stronger or weaker depending on the surface finish. Bumped gloss leather (the surface is a bit closed due to a kind of mechanical smoothing) change slowly, while all open-pored leather show an intense patina effect. It is only important to ensure that the leather does not dry out. This may happen when the bag is not in use or is exposed to strong sunlight for a longer period, by heat (e.g. when kept behind a window), when getting frequently wet while in use or when its surface is slightly battered (at the corners nd edges). Then you should perform a care treatment.

Generell verwenden wir mit wenigen Ausnahmen offenporige Leder. Durch die Offenporigkeit entsteht ein Selbstpflegeeffekt des Leders im Gebrauch, der durch Reibung, Licht und vor allem durch den Talg der Hände entsteht: die Tasche bekommt eine Patina und wird dadurch zum unverwechselbaren Einzelstück. Der Patinaeffekt ist je nach Oberflächenfinish stärker oder schwächer. Glanzgestoßene Leder (die Oberfläche ist durch eine Art mechanische Glättung etwas geschlossener) verändern sich langsamer, während ganz offenporige Leder einen intensiven Patinaeffekt zeigen. Wichtig ist lediglich darauf zu achten, dass das Leder nicht austrocknet. Dies geschieht vor allem dann, wenn die Tasche nicht benutzt wird, längere Zeit starkem Sonnenlicht ausgesetzt ist, heiß wird (z.B. hinter einer Fensterscheibe), oder im Gebrauch häufiger nass oder abgestoßen wird (Ecken und Kanten). Dann sollte man eine Pflege vornehmen.

Imprägnierspray Zur oberflächlichen Behandlung des Leder und vor allem zur kurzfristigen Erhöhung des UV-Schutzes geeignet.

Pflegehinweise Je ölhaltiger das Spray, desto nachhaltiger und dauerhafter ist der erhöhte UV-Schutz. Jedoch verändert sich die Farbe stärker, je ölhaltiger das Spray ist.

Die Veränderung nimmt jedoch im Verlauf wieder ab. Testen Sie den Effekt der Behandlung zunächst bitte an gedeckter Stelle (z.B. am Boden der Tasche).

Empfehlung für die Anwendung: Generell gilt die Regel „weniger ist mehr“.
