om zweiten Weltkrieg blieb der Prenzlauer Berg zwar weitestgehend verschont, doch 1961 trennte die Mauer den Bezirk jäh von seinem Nachbarn Wedding und die schöne Wohngegend wurde lange vernachlässigt. Nicht zuletzt

aufgrund des baulichen Verfalls verzeichnete der Prenzlauer Berg unmittelbar nach dem Mauerfall einen rapiden Bevölkerungsrückgang. Gleichzeitig formte sich hier eine kreative Subkultur, die den Szenebezirk weit über seine Grenzen hinaus bekannt machte. Nach der turbulenten Vergangenheit kehrt in dem ehemaligen Künstler- und Studentenbezirk langsam Ruhe ein. Der heute bevölkerungsdichteste Stadtteil Berlins erfreut sich nicht umsonst so großer Beliebtheit: Noch immer herrschen hier ein besonderer Geist, eine Aufbruchstimmung, eine bunte Mischung und reichlich kreatives Potenzial.

Although the Prenzlauer Berg was mostly spared during the Second World War, in 1961, the wall abruptly separated the district from the neighboring Wedding and so the beautiful residential area was neglected for a long time. Not least because of the physical decay, the Prenzlauer Berg experienced a rapid population decline immediately after the fall of the wall. Simultaneously, a creative subculture emerged and made the district well known far beyond its borders. After the turbulent past, things are slowly calming down in the former students and artists district. The densest populated district of today’s Berlin enjoys such popularity not in vain - a special spirit still prevails here, a positive upbeat mood, a colorful mix and plenty of creative potential.

The short Wichertstraße is a quiet residential street with a wide, green center strip. On Humannplatz, a playground and numerous cozy patches of green invite the inhabitants of the Writers Quarter to linger. The nearby mall, “Schönhauser Allee Arcaden”, offers a wide range of products for all occasions. On the ground floors of Wichertstraße you’ll find small businesses, bars and small charming restaurants. The Schönhauser Allee and the network of inviting side streets south of Wichertstraße offer a colorful range of retail stores and restaurants and are ideal for long walks through the neighborhood. Even the Mauerpark, which attracts crowds every weekend, is within a walking distance. Public transport connection could hardly be better with S-Bahn-Ring and subway, tram and bus lines right outside Wichertstraße.

n dem viergeschossigen Berliner Altbau aus dem Jahr 1906 befinden sich 30 Wohnungen in den Regelgeschossen und vier straßenseitig gelegene Gewerbeeinheiten im Erdgeschoss. Die Wohnungen verteilen sich auf das Vorderhaus und

zwei Seitenflügel sowie ein noch unausgebautes Dachgeschoss und bieten mit ein bis drei Zimmern und Wohnflächen zwischen 45 und 110 m² für jeden Geschmack die richtige Wohnung. Die wunderschönen Gründerzeit-Altbauelemente, wie originale Zimmertüren, Dielenboden und teilweise erhaltene Stuckverzierungen, verleihen den Wohnungen einen bezaubernden Charme. The apartments are spread over the front building and two side wings plus a still unconverted attic, offering one to three bedrooms and living areas between 45-110 m² - the right apartment for every taste. The beautiful Wilhelminian style building elements, such as original doors, floorboards and partially preserved stucco decorations, giving the apartments a bewitching charm. The balconies and loggias facing street and the courtyard create airy spaces for front building and side wings. The front building plan is re-designed for an elevator.
