The price for the little “cracks” in the urban landscape

Land prices for agricultural land risk being expressed per square meter instead of per hectare, as is the case for building plots. The comparison with prices for housing areas seems to make a higher price for agricultural land more plausible, at least for those who have no interest or experience with agricultural activities. Speculation explains the higher prices for agricultural land in or near urban areas (Dugernier et al., 2014, p.41), even for the small 'cracks' in an urban landscape.

How can a farmer be bound to organic farming, given that no additional conditions can be imposed in a regular lease contract? What would be an acceptable financial compromise for the cooperative in the purchase of land given the pressure on land prices on the one hand and the limited yield for the farmer on the other hand?

Which costs are realistic for letting land to a farmer? What if a farmer stops after three years when De Landgenoten pays a lease for 27 years? What if a plot is already being used by other farmers? What if subsidies for the operational cost of the cooperative evaporate? 13
