JOHN MAXWELL

It is with great pleasure that I present the Chairman’s report for the Beverley Community Resource Centre.

This year has been one of strong growth and achievement The KPIs that we are contracted to provide on behalf of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development were not only met but, in several areas, substantially exceeded This reflects the commitment and hard work of our staff

We continued to provide a diverse range of activities for our community. For children, highlights included the highly successful Beverley Story Walk and Paint Beverley ReAd Egg Launch, which drew excellent participation and engagement For adults, a variety of workshops and courses were delivered, ensuring opportunities for learning and connection within the community

A major success this year was securing the contract to manage the administration and financial records for Roe Tourism. This strengthens our links with the wider region and highlights the professionalism and reliability of our Centre

Our Staying in Place Project has also gone from strength to strength, now supporting 25 clients This initiative not only provides vital services to our elderly residents, enabling them to remain in their homes longer, but also creates local employment and makes a substantial contribution to our financial sustainability.

We welcomed new staff members during the year: Sarah MacGregor, Kirsty Noonan, and Claire Thomas We were also pleased to have Kayla Ware as part of our team before she moved on to new opportunities The contributions of the entire team have been greatly valued

Sadly, this year we also mourned the passing of committee member Val Tylor. Val’s contribution to the Centre and the Beverley community was significant, and she will be remembered with gratitude and respect On behalf of the committee, I extend our deepest sympathies to her family

I would like to express my thanks to the committee for their input and support throughout the year, with particular thanks to David White for his tireless efforts and commitment.

Finally, my sincere thanks to Amor and her team The success we have achieved this year is a direct result of their hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving the Beverley community

It has been a very successful year, and I look forward to building on this strong foundation for years to come.

John Maxwell

TREASURERS REPORT DAVID WHITE

The financial year ended 30 June 2025 ended positively for the CRC notwithstanding the challenges faced The Balance Sheet for the CRC remains very healthy and it is an issue we need to work hard to protect

Taking on the role of organiser for the delivery of aged services within the community has placed the staff and organisation under a significantly increased workload Financially, it was envisioned that it would provide the CRC with a source of income that would enable the organisation to expand its role by providing more services

That has now been restricted by the changes to Aged Care system in Australia whereby the fees originally payable to the CRC have now been reduced It seems that certain Commonwealth Aged Care and Disability Programmes are constantly under review by the Government so the CRC needs to be aware of these changes If the changes continue to place an increased financial burden on organisations like us, the Committee might need to reassess our participation

The purpose of the CRC as a Not-for-Profit, is to provide a range of services and events to the Community at minimal or no cost Hence our focus on ensuring we maintain a sound Balance Sheet is important It is unfortunate that the current State Government does not see the Community Resource Centres as a priority in any sense and although we have had some small increase in our funding, it is time that this funding stream was revisited by the Government

Since the last Financial Year, we changed Auditors and engaged AMD located in Bunbury to complete this task this year We look forward to this being an ongoing and mutually beneficial relationship

Finally, I would like to express my appreciation to all the staff who put in significant time and effort to assist members of the Beverley community to benefit in many ways From the seemingly small enquiries to the free functions provided, the CRC does fill a special need within the community And, in particularly, to Sam Fricker whose work on the financial side of the organisation is vital to our continued wellbeing

Coordinators report Amor Moulton

I am pleased to present the 2024/2025 Annual Report to our committee and members It’s an honour to lead such a talented team of community-minded individuals who are making a positive impact on our local community We have had a successful year of workshops, events, and initiatives for the Beverley community We have delivered an incredible amount of targeted programs through successful collaboration with many community organisations This shared vision has been instrumental in achieving impactful results

I want to extend my gratitude to the management committee for their unwavering support throughout another successful year at the centre The staff have been intergral to ensuring the CRC operates at a professional standard, meeting customers needs at the highest level, and implementing programs with enthusiasum Thank you all in supporting me and our staff Since our last AGM, we have had some staff changes We said goodbye to Allison, Jaime and Kayla and we now have Kirsty, Sarah and Claire on board, all of whom are thriving in their roles

We have successfully achieved our focus areas for the year, which included:

Creating intergenerational programs

Expanding the STEAM program

Continuing the growth of the Staying in Place Program, which now has Claire Thomas working two days a week While we recognise that our community-based programs are well supported, we are aware that we still face challenges with local businesses, and will focus on overcoming these moving forward My fantastic team have delivered so many events and workshops, some major highlights of the year:

REGIONAL TRAINEESHIP PROGRAM: We were thrilled to have won the DPIRD Regional Traineeship Program award in July 2024, a significant accomplishment for our centre The program remains strong in our town We have employed Kirsty Noonan, she is works one day a week with the Shire of Beverley’s Tourism Officer Jacinta Murray, gaining valubale insight into the preparation of running the Beverley Air Show, and she is progressing through her TAFE units, and she looks like she will be finishing her traineeship on time We are thrilled that former trainee Allison has successfully gained employment as the Community Development Officer at the Shire of York I am awaiting the outcome from DPIRD funding application for the next trainee

VISITOR CENTRE: Thank you to the Visitor Centre volunteers, we appreciate the time that you willing give, and a special shout out to Dee for her ongoing commitment to leading the program I hope all the volunteers enjoy their break from VC duties during the warmer months

LIBRARY: Our centre has attained funding to implement various programs Three key highlights of the library this year include: Paint Beverley ReAd initiative, an Australia wide program that we launched in September at the Beverley Story Walk There is an egg that grows as kids read books and singing to it The egg has even spent time at the school

The Beverley Story Walk, was a labour intensive initiative, that involved 30 residents reading children's books, which we filmed and placed QR code signage around for easy access to the videos The official launch in September 2024 attracted 130 attendees, including four classes from our local school and local MLA Lachlan Hunter

The expansion of the STEAM clubs/workshops: 0-5 STEAM series of workshops and Coding Club, plus STEAM workshops being held dowmn at the Community Garden

The Beverley Community Garden have become sustainable, the volunteers have been able to operate independantly by selling organic produce, fundraising through stalls, and the Containers for Change program They have expand and built a place within the garden for sharing a cuppa, bbq or holding workshops, a space for everyone to enjoy

Finally, thank you to our members, staff, and management committee; your support and dedication to our small community's CRC is truly commendable

Regional Traineeship Program

We are thrilled to offer our valued community the opportunity to participate in the regional traineeship program, funded by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) This program serves as a vital steppingstone, providing trainees with essential workplace experience, qualifications, and the confidence needed to embark on their career journeys

We take pride in our trainees' success, which has led to local businesses recognising their potential and offering employment opportunities even before they complete their studies with us In July 2024 our dedicated team were honoured to be awarded the Regional Traineeship Award at the DPIRD conference

Our trainees engage in a structured program that includes dedicated study time alongside fulfilling workplace responsibilities such as front counter service, LEGO club supervision, newsletter compilation, billing, printing, event support, training assistance, secretarial duties, and reporting to the management committee

The positive feedback we receive from our community, local businesses, and employers underscores the importance of this initiative in our regional setting By educating, training, and retaining talented local individuals, we not only enhance our community but also create avenues for these trainees that were previously out of reach

Looking ahead, we are committed to continuing to offer traineeships in Beverley, with a focus on broadening the range of certificates available for our participants In a recent funding application, we tailored a program for Marketing and Communication, currently being pursued by Kirsty Noonan through a Certificate IV course

We find that this certificate can be useful in most industries, opening up job prospect for our trainees Our last trainee Allison Abra has used them to do work free lance and she was recently employed fulltime at the Shire of York, as their Community Development Officer The Regional Traineeship Program has setup so many Beverley residents with an impressive career pathway, seeing our former trainees thrive in the workforce, is a testament to the need of this program
