Church Notices

ANGLICAN CHURCH

PARISH OF BEVERLEY-BROOKTON

This weekend our Gospel recounts Jesus’ story of the Lost Sheep; albeit unlike the numbers of sheep in the Avon Valley this is a story of a shepherd with one hundred sheep. The service at St Mary’s Church, Beverley is at 10.30am, and there will be an afternoon service at 4.00pm at St Andrew’s Church, Greenhills, honouring the anniversary of the foundation and dedication of a church in that district.

Happy Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY - JOHN ISLIP

Happy belated birthday wishes to local legend, John Islip, who celebrated his birthday on Monday 01 September.

Artist-in-Residence

Jennifer Hill will be at the Station for the duration of September. She is a water colour and acrylic artist who takes inspiration from nature and the world around us. One of Jennifer’s specialties is animal portraits, and she loves to capture the beauty of our native species. Jennifer was born on a small farm in Cornwall, England, moving to Australia as a child. Her interest in art began as a small child, watching her father’s talents for drawing when he would explain things like shading and perspective.

Jen began painting 15 years ago and has entered many exhibitions throughout WA including two of her own solo exhibitions. Sales from these events are now hanging in private collections in Australia and Europe. She finds it very exciting and feels privileged to have people buy her work.

Jen is a member of the Wanneroo Joondalup Art Society. She would love to meet local art enthusiasts and welcomes anyone to bring their work along and join her for a painting session and a cuppa if you have the time. Visit the Station Gallery when you see the sign out to peruse her works for sale.
