Going into the holidays we tend to have too much of everything. Sugar, alcohol, processed foods (especially those Christmas cookies) and most of all stress.

• Consume 8oz. per hour (some experts believe in a gallon a day)

And of course there's that common expression, too much of anything is not good!

• If you do not have time to juice early morning start your day with warm water and lemon

As I get older (and wiser, ha ha) I have noticed there is a concern about taking in too much supplementation and more recently nutrition from juicing. I do find that theory strange considering so many people will consume a combination of medications, artificial sweeteners, artificial colors and processed food without question. I recently embarked on a juice cleanse and I was so surprised at how many people were concerned about how much I was juicing. Where were they when I was stuffing my face with pizza! I hope it is because they know how powerful and healing fruits and vegetables are. In just three days of juicing my energy is through the roof, my mind is clearer than it has been in months and my stomach feels sooo good. My annoying bumps on my arms also vanished. I am supplementing with probiotics, enzymes, spirulina and cell food. These are staples in my diet that I probably will take forever. To begin a juicing program please consider the following suggestions: • Purchase Organic or Locally grown produce

• Use your produce up quickly (the fresher it is the better it tastes) • I wash my produce and scrub with a veggie brush so its ready to juice

• If you can't afford a high quality juicer consider a Nutri bullet. The drinks tend to be thick so you might want to add water and ice or strain some of the fiber. • During my cleanse I did the blended drinks as well as juicing.

Juicing into 2018

• Don't forget to juice lemon and limes. I remove some of the skin so it is not too bitter.

• Get creative with your juices. Use fresh herbs, I loved having mint in my drinks! • Try to gets lots of fresh air. • Journal your experience

• Use a rebounder or mini trampoline to move your lymph fluid • Use a dry skin brush twice a day. Use before showering. Great for circulation and detox • Sip on water between juices

• Do not drink bottled juice. Only fresh pressed, blended or juiced

• If in an emergency situation raw coconut water can be used

• ***If you have a poor diet you need to warm up. Usually three days of very clean eating is sufficient. Lots of fluids, tons of veggies and no sugar, dairy and flour. • ***After stopping a cleanse you need to slowly introduce food in so you do not undo the progress you made I always try to do a program before suggesting it to others. Some people embarking on a juicing program experience a detox reaction or "healing crisis." Please educate yourself on how much to juice and what is best for your body type. Or call me! JW Salveson and Jerome Sangalli, enjoy more than 30 years together, and for a decade, have used their love of Christmas to bring gifts and support to our community’s children and abandoned pets. They are the proud owners of The Port Saint Lucie Christmas House with tours beginning December 8, 2017. The vision began simply sharing the joy of the holidays with neighbors in Tradition in 2005 with seven Christmas trees. Jeannette Weiss, affectionately named “The Godmother” of the house, convinced them people should be coming to see their home. Jeanette spread the word about JW and Jerome’s Christmas house displays and they began opening their home to the community. Visitors brought an unwrapped toy to enter and over a few days a couple of

hundred toys were collected, which they hand delivered to a children’s charity. This began a Christmas tradition, the next year increased to 20 trees with 600 toys donated in five nights. By 2008, they had 30 trees and 1,000 people toured their house. After moving to a home on Starflower Avenue and increasing to 40 trees with more toys donated – it just started getting bigger. The children’s charity was going out of business, and that year JW and Jerome collected a truckload of toys with more than 10,000 people donating and viewing the beautiful displays in their home. The children of CASTLE became the new charity benefiting from the donated toys. Moving to a bigger house with a better layout in 2014, they decorated 60

munity. To celebrate, JW led a parade, marching with a high school band, and Santa and his elves. When it came time to light the Port St. Lucie Christmas House for the reveal, they said, “Community light your hearts,” – three hundred people lit their phones and the house was ablaze with lights. There is a limit to the displays, and this year they maxed out at 72 trees because they ran out of wall sockets. Erik Delaney from Climatic Solar and his crew worked day and night to put lights on the roof for the reveal celebration. Our Lady of Fatima is now in residence at The Port Saint Lucie Christmas House. She will be on display throughout the season and you will be able to see Her during the Christmas House tour.

Decorating plans were cancelled for Christmas 2015 when a car struck the couple sending their vehicle into the air, crashing into a yard. JW was diagnosed with a severed spine. The near death experience (from a driver texting) came with excruciating pain. Experts were certain JW would never walk again, but he believed differently. While agonizing in the hospital JW made a promise he keeps to this day. Remembering his Catholic upbringing and other approved miracles, he was looking at a statue on a television show regarding the 100th anniversary of Our Lady Fatima – a Catholic name given to the Virgin Mary, and JW said, “If I can walk again, I promise to pray the rosary every single day.” JW was unable to walk until Dr. Rousha renowned spine surgeon discovered the issue during a second surgery. After the third surgery, Dr. Roush said he would walk again. In a grand display of gratitude for their miracle, this year they lit up not only the Christmas house, but also the com-

Now, apparently, none of the nurses asked that question and wouldn’t before a person goes under anesthesia. But, when I woke up I was still answering her, talking about the party. Was it a dream? Maybe not.”

This year, Jerome and JW purchased a cruise package to benefit Dogs and Cats Forever. Raffle tickets can be purchased from Dogs and Cats Forever and can be used for admission to tour the Christmas House. Because the work they are doing benefits children and animals, a national television company wants to help by showing the house on TV just before Christmas 2018. “I still don’t know how they found us,” said JW. “It’s not for selfish, egotistical reasons otherwise we would

(Psalms 46:10) • See today’s actions in a different time zone. (Acts 1:7) • Stay online with God for system updates ( James 4:8) • Fire the bad boss inside of me. ( James 1:21) • Do it before you know how. (Proverbs 3:5-6) • Do the right thing at the right time for the right amount of time. (Galatians 6:9) Some of the greatest successes follow simple life changes.
