Each summer, 10,000 music and art lovers of all ages gather at a picturesque park near the hills of Mount Tamalpais in the San Francisco Bay Area to experience renowned acts and local artists, enjoy world-class food, and build community. Since the first festival in 2021, the organizers have committed to creating an event that benefits their attendees and the environment where they gather. To accomplish this mission, they
partner with vendors who share their same commitment to sustainability, including Better Earth.
Last year, Better Earth contributed 22,000 BPI-certified compostable cold cups, plates, forks, knives, spoons, and vibrant custom printed Farmer’s Fiber clamshells, supporting the diversion of more than 2,000 pounds of food and packaging waste from the landfill.
Paired with a comprehensive waste management service that further supported proper composting and recycling, the festival left a lasting impact — not just in memories of music, art, and community, but in its commitment to protecting the planet.

Zero Foodprint is a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring the climate, one acre at a time. Guided by a vision that Better Earth shares that healthy soil is key to reversing the global climate crisis, Zero Foodprint believes that by regenerating soil, local food economies can play a critical role in reversing the global climate crisis. They work with food and beverage businesses, like Better Earth, philanthropy, and government to bring the
next dollar to implement the next regenerative practice on the next acre. In doing so, they collectively create a regenerative economy that benefits everyone, from the farmers who grow our food to the businesses that sell it and the communities that consume it.
Through our partnership, Better Earth is committing 1% of gross sales from our new retail tableware collection, Farmer’s Fiber from Better Earth, to support Zero Foodprint’s mission. Additionally, Zero Foodprint will be a key partner throughout Better Earth’s annual giving campaigns to further support initiatives that restore the planet and strengthen agricultural communities.

Regenerative Agriculture
This refers to farming and grazing practices that restore soil biodiversity and reverse climate change by sequestering carbon dioxide in replenished soil.
This means that a product can break down into carbon dioxide, water, inorganic compounds, and biomass in about 90–180 days or less with the support of aerobic microorganisms. This process leaves no toxicity in the soil. Compostable products can include food scraps, as well as certifiedcompostable foodservice packaging materials like the products made by Better Earth. Check with your commercial compost facility to confirm what they accept.
According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, this is an economic system where nothing is wasted. When composted, Better Earth compostable products are a strong example of the circular economy in action, as our raw materials are sourced from reimagined agricultural byproducts (like bamboo). We can all “close the loop” through composting, leaving no waste behind.
